Karen Leslie Adamson (nee Kaye) passed away at her home in Cranford, NJ on Monday, October 2, 2023 which would have been her 41st wedding anniversary. Karen, 65, was born in Newark, NJ and grew up in Roselle Park, NJ. After marrying Mark (known as Fred) in 1982, she resided in Bayonne, NJ for one year before settling in Cranford, NJ. Karen studied computer science at Kean College and then worked as a software programmer for Midlantic Bank and AIG before retiring. Karen loved going on cruises, the New York Giants, Rod Stewart, the Beatles, especially Paul McCartney. She also enjoyed preparing dishes using ingredients from her husband's plentiful garden. Karen was pre-deceased by her husband, Mark "Fred" (2022), her brother, Paul Kaye and her parents, Joseph Kaye and Irene Kaye Mayhem. Karen was also pre-deceased by her sister-in-law, Claudia Adamson and brothers-in-law Robert Adamson and Merrill Adamson. Karen is survived by her brothers-in-law Sandy Adamson (Marsha), Lawrence Adamson (Patty), Kevin Adamson (Anne) and her sister-in-law Joyce Adamson, as well as nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and cousins. She leaves behind her two bearded collies, Rigby and Kelsi whom she dearly loved. Donations in Karen's name may be made to The Bearded Collie Club of America Rescue or Center of Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains, NJ. All services are private.

Frances Marie (Wiliams) Kelly passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 97. Frances was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from St. Brendan's High School in Brooklyn and spent most of her life in Brooklyn, New York. She was a legal secretary in Manhattan for over 43 years before retiring in 1989. In 2006, she moved to Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania before finally residing in Lakewood, New Jersey in 2018. Frances is predeceased by her parents Frances Marie (Mohan) Williams and Edward Williams, her husband John Kelly, her son Richard Torregrossa, her son-in-law William Foy, her brother Edward Williams, her sister Virginia (Gina Williams) Salinardo, her brother Robert Williams, and her cherished great granddaughter Annabell Foy. Frances is survived by her daughter Lynne Foy of Lakewood, New Jersey and her daughter-in-law Patricia Torregrossa of Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania. She also leaves behind five grandchildren who have many fond memories of spending time with her in the Poconos at her summer house: James Foy and his wife Jodi, Christopher Foy and his wife Laura, Keith Torregrossa and his wife Becca, Danielle Wilber and her husband Jason, and Kirk Torregrossa and his husband Seth. Frances was a great grandmother to seven great grandchildren who lovingly called her Greatma: Nicolas and Madison Torregrossa, Jared and Hannah Foy, Branna, Rowan, and Cian Foy. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A private burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.Show more

Anthony P. Zito 80, (Tony) passed away suddenly on Wednesday October 18th 2023. Anthony was born and raised in Newark NJ before moving to Mountainside with the love of his life, his wife Stella (nee Schillizzi) and daughter in the early eighties. Anthony was a devoted and loving husband for 59 years. Together they built a beautiful life, and were honored to call one another husband and wife. If you knew Anthony, he always had a sense of humor, a joke , a story to tell or something to share that emanated warmth. He was good hearted, loyal, genuine, never complained he was always positive. To his family he was known as the "human roadmap" and could tell you how to get anywhere in NJ and beyond by landmarks, cross streets and always could add a good "hot dog joint" to stop at. Anthony was a man of many talents and knew a little bit about everything. In his younger years he was a butcher and a proud owner of a fishing and firearms store. He also dabbled in real estate for several years. However his lifelong career was as an electrical contractor for his self owned commercial company. Anthony was a proud member of IBEW for 63 years. Anthony's passion was recreational target shooting, hunting and being a member of many gun clubs where he made lifelong friends, he loved to shoot and chat with the guys. He always looked forward to his Wednesday nights with the guys from SPL (Suburban Pistol League). Anthony also had a love for dogs and had many faithful champion show Weimaraners throughout the years. He was a member of the Garden State Weimaraner Club for 50 years where he had served many roles from President, Vice President, Secretary, and was always the man to volunteer for club events. Anthony was a proud father to his only child, his daughter Christi (Carducci) who he often referred to as the "apple of his eye". He was also an extremely proud and loving caregiver to his two grandchildren Dylan and Hailey. Proud father to his son in law Michael (Carducci). He was extremely family oriented, loved spending time with his family, whether sitting at home just watching sports, Abbott and Costello movies together, having family dinners with lots of stories or simply playing catch with his grandchildren. Anthony was predeceased by his parents Peter and Anna Zito (nee Ruggeri). Anthony will forever be missed by all who loved him, especially his devastated wife and daughter who lost her "rock" in life. Adele Prochaczek (90) peacefully departed on her final journey to meet with her beloved Johnny on September 27, 2023. Adele was born in a rustic farming village in Poland. At the age of 16 Adele and her mother fled Poland to avoid the war and traveled to America. She settled in Jersey City with her parents. She then enrolled in classes to learn English. Throughout her life she held various jobs to help support the family. Her most memorable one being the time she spent working for Western Electric. She had a fondness for Polkas, which is where she met her beloved Johnny at a Polish dance held in Dover. The young couple became smitten with one another and soon they were inseparable. They were married for over 65 years and raised four stunning and enchanting daughters. Adele and John spent many years enjoying retirement between their homes in New Jersey and Florida. She was a food pusher and loved feeding anyone who stopped by for a visit. John unfortunately passed in October of 2022. After John's passing Adele enjoyed relaxing at their home in Toms River. She took great joy in having visitors and loving family members as many of them took time to check in with her to reminisce as well as catch up on everything that was new. Adele leaves a legacy of love, affection and an appreciation of life and its many splendid blessings She was predeceased by her parents - Walter and Apolonia Plucienik and her beloved Husband - John B. Prochaczek Adele will forever live in the hearts and minds of all those who loved her. It is with great sadness that the family of Richard G Heckman announces his passing on Monday, September 18, 2023. Richard was born and raised in West Long Branch, N. J. After graduating from Long Branch High School, where he was Class President in Junior & Senior years, he attended Diesel Engines & Repairs School in Queens, NY. He then worked for Mack Trucks until he enlisted in the Army. There he was in the 6th Infantry Regiment, Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion - Berlin, Germany in the American Sector of the divided city. After the Army, where he attained the rank of Corporal, he married his former wife and went to work at New Jersey Natural Gas Company in their garage as a Mechanic. He then became very involved as a Union Negotiator. He did so well that the top Admin- Administrators offered him a position as Assistant Director of the Personnel Department. During those years he became very involved in Industry and Civic Affairs. He received many awards for this Service. One was for Teaching Firemen throughout New Jersey how to handle Natural Gas. For seven years he was Chairman of the Monmouth County Traffic Safety Committee. There he was certified as a Defensive Driver Instructor. While in his 40's Richard received two different Degrees at Brookdale College. He also belonged to the Monmouth-Ocean County Industrial Relations Association, later changed to Jersey Shore Human Relations Association/American Association of Personnel Administratives, where he met his present wife, Genevieve. Richard retired from the Gas Company after 26 years of service and went to work for General Dynamic/Electro Dynamics Electric Boat Division. Once there, he started a Mentor Program with the local Grammar School Students. He also served on the Board of Trustees at Epiphany House with his wife, Genevieve, in Asbury Park. He served several years with Sister Janet Christenson as the Director. After Richard & Genevieve were married they got very involved in boating. At first it was White Water Rafting and canoeing and then they bought a 21' Grady White and went up the Hudson River to Lake Champlain. They enjoyed cruising so much they then traded up to a 34' Mainship they named "Lady Jane". They then cruised to the Hamptons, Connecticut, Baltimore Inner Harbor, Annapolis. Then in 1994, a year after Richard retired from General Dynamic/Electro Dynamics they decided to cruise to Englewood, FL, a voyage that lasted 21 days. They left their home in NJ and started down the Intracoastal Waterway, leaving each Port of Call at day break and turning in at 4:00 pm each night. They had the Waterway Guide and Charts and stopped only at Marinas that had a restaurant or a way to get to a restaurant. They cruised across Lake Okeechobee to Ft Myers and then north to Lemon Bay and Englewood. Richard was the Captain and his wife Genevieve, Navigator. In May they brought "Lady Jane" back to New Jersey. They then bought a two seater side by side Jet Ski they named "Baby Jane. " They would go out every evening when Genevieve came home from work and cruised Barnegat Bay. In October of that year they again cruised to Englewood, FL. They liked the area so much they decided to buy a home there. They then spent the next 19 years spending October to May every year. Richard is predeceased by his loving his son Douglas, parents Naomi Jane (Morris) and Gustave Heckman, his Grandfather, Gustave Heckman, his Uncle Frank & Aunt Mollie Miller, his Aunt Grace & Uncle Donald Morris. Living is his devoted wife Genevieve Fitzpatrick Heck-man, his children & spouses, Pam & Dennis Du-brow, Brian & Tina Heckman, Lori Atwater, Lisa Heck-man and Step-children & their spouses, Kerri & Nick Rospos, Doreen Howell, & Gigi & Joe Iskra & his Grandchildren Douglas Atwater, Dan, Matt & Chris Dubrow, Elaina Heckman, Dr. Samantha & Ryan Ann Mathews, Nick & Courtney Rospos, Kaci & Ken Buck, Jane Howell & her fiance David Howard, Julie & Michael Botts and his Great-Grandchildren Ella & Noland Buck and Olivia & Avery Botts and his brother Frank Heckman.
