Terry L. Lesnett, Shaler Twp. , formerly of Delaware Twp. passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, following a brief illness, He was 64. Terry was born in Greenville on February 12, 1959, a son of the late William A. and Connie A. (Moller)Lesnett. He was a 1977 graduate of Reynolds High School. On April 4, 1981, he married Elizabeth "Beth" Dangrow who preceded him in death on September 25, 2007. He subsequently married Barbara Wielock who survives. He had previously been employed by the former Greenville Steel Car and R. D. Werner Co. , Greenville, and the George Jr. Republic, Grove City. He was most recently working as a truck driver. He was a former member of the Fredonia Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by his two daughters, Amy Merchant, Greenville and Teresa Lesnett and her husband Chip, Transfer; two stepchildren, Lynn (Randy) Gurrero and Robert (Nicole) Juskowich; his sister, Sherry Lesnett, Hermitage, two uncles, John (Sue) Lesnett, Delaware Twp. and Vincent Dale Moller, Jr. , Greenville and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beth, his grandparents, Elmer and Nina Lesnett and Vincent D. and Alice Moller, Sr. ; his aunt and uncle, Thomas and Shirley Lesnett, a cousin Nadeana Arthur and her son, Jesse Bielobocky. Richard L. Gibson, Cochranton (Deer Creek Twp. ) passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 21, 2023, at the Meadville Medical Center. He was 88. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario Canada on September 30, 1935, a son of the late Richard M. and Helen (Hackbush) Gibson. He was a graduate of Fredonia, NY High School. Following his graduation he volunteered for the U. S. Army and served honorably from 1954 - 1956 with one year of service in Germany. Upon his discharge, he began a career with G. C. Murphy Co. and was transferred to Greenville, PA where he met Peggy Free and they were united in marriage on June 30, 1957. His career with G. C. Murphy Co. took him to many places throughout the United States. He retired after 46 years of service. He and his wife Peggy owned and operated Cassville Market, Cassville, WV for 20 years and then settled in Deer Creek where he lived for the past 12 years. He is survived by his wife Peggy of 66 years, his children, Richard (Carolyn) Gibson, White Oak, PA and Rhonda (Doug) Olds, Cary, NC; two brothers, Malcolm (Debbie) Gibson and Scott (Susan) Gibson, both of Millis, MA; 4 grandchildren, Bart (Alison) Olds, Austin, TX, Frank (Tiffany) Olds, Fuquay Varina, NC, Jessica (Kemper) Marable, Richmond, VA, and Brett Olds, Arlington, VA, and 7 great-grandchildren. Dick loved to play pool, enjoyed a good game of golf, having achieved a hole-in-one, savoring a good glass of bourbon while rooting for the West Virginia Mountaineers, and watching western movies and game shows. He was a 32nd degree Mason and past commander of Knights Templar, a member of the Osiris Shrine Temple, Wheeling, WV, Cochranton American Legion, Meadville Moose, and Station Four, Cochranton. Shirley Irene Willaman Hause passed away peacefully on November 14 at the age of 89. Shirley was born in Transfer, PA on February 25, 1934, to Albert and Irene Koonce Willaman. Along with her three sisters Margery, Elsie, and Esther, and two brothers Robert and David, Shirley grew up on what is now the Vanderstappen dairy farm in Transfer, currently owned by Shirley's niece Amy and husband John. Shirley graduated from Fredonia-Delaware High School in 1952 where she was on the cheer squad, cheering for her high school sweetheart and Vocats basketball star, Stan Hause. In February of 1953, Shirley flew to Hawaii where Stan was serving in the US Navy, where she became Mrs. Stanley S. Hause. Over their 69 years together, Stan and Shirley had four daughters, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren so far. They created many memories while they lived in many locations around the US including California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. They spent several years in Allentown, PA where they were active at the First Presbyterian church. First and foremost, Shirley was a loving wife, mom, and grandmother. She was an accomplished quilter, seamstress, and needleworker, having made many beautiful articles of clothing, holiday decorations, and household items over the years. She volunteered her time extensively towards her daughters' activities (crafting nearly 1,000 frogs stuffed with birdseed as a fundraiser for the early Parkettes) and several non-profit associations. Preceded in death by her husband Stan, grand-daughter Melanie, her parents Albert and Irene, and four of her siblings, Shirley is survived by her daughters Sherene (James), Suzan ( Michael), Sandi ( Brian) and Staci (Jon), and her sister Esther Osborne. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and more than 100 nieces and nephews, grands, and great-grands. We will miss her terribly. A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 18 at 11 am at Millbank Cemetery in Fredonia. A memorial service will be held next year. Bernard "Chub" W. Catalano, Jr. Greenville passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family by his side on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was 60. He was born in Greenville on March 16, 1963, a son of the late Bernard W. and Saundra D. (Scriven) Catalano, Sr. Over the years he had been an over-the-road truck driver for 18 years and had been a mechanic at various shops in the Greenville area. He was an avid follower of the Cleveland Browns, was a collector of coins, and enjoyed playing bar bingo, pool, and darts with his friends. He was a member of the Greenville Eagle's Club # 805. 0 He is remembered by his family as a loving and caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He is survived by his four daughters, Brandy of Bartow, FL, Taylor Bethanne, Atlantic, Destiny, Greenville, and Autumn, Transfer; two sisters, Kimberly Catalano, Greenville and Jan (Mike) Martin, Transfer; two very special cousins, Sherry Christner McCoy, Greenville and Tracey Salsberg, Greenville; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Joseph Walter Nelson passed away peacefully on October 30, 2023, with his wife and children by his side. He was 75. He was born February 16, 1948 in Gevena, PA, a son of the late John E. and Julia (Foust) Nelson. He graduated from Commodore Perry High School in 1966. On December 3, 1966 he married the former Kathleen Freeman, who survives. While a senior in high school he worked for Blazon and after graduation he went on to work at Westinghouse. He decided on the tool trade and apprenticed at Talon and went to Packard Electric in Warren, OH, retiring with 35 years of service as a tool and die maker. He was an avid Steeler fan, loved hunting deer and elk and fishing for walleye on Lake Erie. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, trucks and tractors. He created a personal camp and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 56 years; a daughter, Michele (Jim) Renninger; son Walter Owen (Jenelle) Nelson; eight grandchildren, Jay (Eric), Melissa, Trestan (Brady), Trelyn, DJ, Trevis, Josh and Trent; four step grandchildren, Cheyanne, Gabby, Brianna and Caleb; two great grandsons, Joey and Christopher; one step great great grandson, Westin; four sisters, Janet Pazey, Sally Chason, Ethel Nelson and Darlene (Dan) Shearer as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Christine Merchbaker and granddaughter, Heather Renninger. Wilma Allen Kress Culley, Mercer, (Coolspring Twp. ) passed away early Sunday morning, October 29, 2023, at the UPMC Hamot, Erie with her family by her side. She was 88. She was born in Sandyville, WV, the daughter of the late Dennis Byron and Laurella (Carter) Allen. On May 29, 1953, she married Richard T. Kress who preceded her in death on August 29, 1976, she subsequently married Ord Culley on November 10, 1979, and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2011. Mrs. Culley had many varied jobs throughout her life, she owned and operated along with her husband, Kress Exxon, Jackson Center and from 1986 through 2000, she was employed by her son, David as the secretary for Kress Auto Center, Mercer. She was a member of the Fredonia Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. In her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling the country with her husband. Mrs. Culley was always supportive of her children and grandchildren, attending and following their many activities. Through her marriage to Richard Kress, she had 4 children, Rebecca Ann (Anthony) Sarcinella, Richard Allen (Debra) Kress, Kathleen Marie Boitnott and David Byron Kress and his companion Shirley Dickson, and a foster son, Shawn (Tracy) Durstine. Following her marriage to Ord Culley, she added 6 additional children to her family, Debra (Mike) Sekelik, Cindy Ken) Nalappa, Linda Dobash, Jeff Culley, Bonnie (Greg) Kramer, and Ronald Culley. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Linda Beatty, a brother-in-law, Christopher (Judy) Kress, 60 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, and 34 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Richard and Ord, a daughter Kathleen Marie Boitnott, a sister, Wanda Jean Crispens, and 4 brothers, Edzel Lee Allen, Caroliss Byron Allen, Ronald Dwight Allen, and Karl Allen. Catherine Irene Matti, Greenville (Sugar Grove Twp. ) passed away early Tuesday morning, October 17, 2023, at the LECOM, Nursing and Rehab, Erie following a courageous 4-month battle with kidney failure. She was 69. She was born in Greenville on January 13, 1954, a daughter of the late Paul Leslie and Naomi (Moffett) Cadman. On August 25, 1978, she married Ellery Matti who survives. She was a homemaker and devoted mother, always putting her family first. She was a faithful daughter and caregiver to her mother, Naomi, through her many years of failing health. Catherine attended the North Salem Wesleyan Methodist Church, Greenville. In addition to her husband, Ellery, she is survived by her three children, Traci (Eric) Hanna, Cranberry. Lori Scott, Los Angelos, CA, and Jason Matti, Lowellville, OH; 5 grandchildren, Tyler MacNeil, Ryan Hanna, twins, Kayla and Kelsey Hanna, and Aurora Matti, Catherine was affectionately referred to as Gi Gi Ma to her great-granddaughter, Shay Madeline MacNeil born on Oct. 10, 2023. Her siblings, Paul Cadman, Hartstown, Bruce Cadman, Greenville and Carl (Patsy) Cadman, Gary, IN. ; a sister-in-law, Caroline Cadman, Greenville, brother in laws, Henry Matti, Conneaut Lake and Dana Matti, Raleigh, NC. Also, several nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Alan Cadman, a sister-in-law, Patricia Cadman and brothers-in-law, Leonard Matti and Richard Matti. Margaret A. "Peg" King, Meadville, Vernon Twp. passed away Friday afternoon, September 22, 2023, at the home of her daughter, with her family by her side following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was 86. She was born on March 1, 1937, in Washington, D. C. , a daughter of the late Thomas L. and Amy J. (Hott) Martin. She was a 1955 graduate of Lakeview High School where she played trombone in the school band and also with the former Sandy Lake Fireman's Band. Peg, had a love of animals from her days on the family farm, raising geese, chickens, cats, dogs, and horses. She was proud of being a Penn State Master Gardener, Crawford County Chapter. She also enjoyed organic gardening, canning, and raising flowers and vegetables in her greenhouse. On January 17, 1981, she married Hubert E. King who preceded her in death on December 15, 2021. She and her husband enjoyed sharing their hospitality with many family and friends, hosting weekly card groups, mostly playing hand and foot. She was a member of the Emmanuel Christian Church, Stoneboro where she had been church pianist and organist for many years, a self-taught talent that she learned as a child, playing for her father in his church ministries. She had worked on the family dairy farm, then went on to work for Magnetics, Inc. , Sandy Lake and PPG Meadville, Plant 8, retiring in 1985. In her retirement years, she enjoyed working in the Crawford Central School District cafeteria. She is survived by her three children to William Canon, two sons, Bill (Sherralyn) Canon, Elk City, OK. , John (Carolyn) Canon, Greenville, and a daughter, Debbie (Steve) Wright, Stoneboro, and following her marriage to Hubert King in 1981 she was blessed to add two additional children to the family, Hugh (Becky) King, Vero Beach, FL. and Jackie Coloney, Ardmore, OK. Mrs. King is also survived by two brothers, Donald Martin, Knoxville, TN, and David Martin, Greenville, 13 very special grandchildren, Yvette, Thomas, Billy, Terri, Chrystal, Michelle, Angela, Alex, Olivia, Alicia, Bethany, Shane and Andrew, 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She also had a neighbor who held a special place in her life, Cheryl (Ron) Winkle, Meadville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 40 years, Hubert E. King, and a brother, John Martin. Peg had a very special love for her family, her many friends, and even strangers, who quickly became friends. As she battled her cancer, she was overwhelmed with the care, concern, and compassion that was shown to her by her family, church family and many friends. The funeral service will be held on at 11:00 a. m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Emmanuel Christian Church, 4495 Greenville Sandy Lake Road, Stoneboro with Minister Tim Clark officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Stoneboro.
