Mr. Justin Glenn Mullins, 47, of Monticello, MS went home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2023. Justin was born December 29, 1975 in McComb, Mississippi to Donnie and Pat Mullins of Monticello, Mississippi. There will be a memorial service for Justin at Sauls Valley Baptist Church in Monticello, Mississippi on October 6, 2023 with visitation from 9:00AM to 11:00AM and service at 11:00AM. Graveside memorial to follow at Sauls Valley Cemetery. He is survived by his parents: Donnie and Pat Mullins; his children: Konner Mullins and Carter Mullins; his sister: Angie (Brandon) Belanger; as well as nephews and cousins. Justin loved his children and family dearly. He played more rounds of basketball with his sons and nephews than anyone could count. He loved music and playing guitar. He was an outstanding cook. Justin loved the Lord, and he knew the Bible better than most. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He will be greatly missed. Mrs. Beulah Yvonne Landrum Johns, 85, of Monticello, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson, MS. Yvonne was born August 21, 1938 in Stringer, Mississippi to William C. and Lola Mae Clark Hill. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM until funeral services at 12:00 PM at Carmel Baptist Church in Monticello, MS. Graveside services will follow at Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello. Bro. Lee Mathis will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Yvonne married James Richard Landrum and they married April 21, 1957. To this union was born 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Her life revolved around family and church and she enjoyed many happy years until James' passing in 2002. Yvonne retired from the Mississippi Employment Agency in Monticello. After retirement she enjoyed working many years at Millane's Gift Shop where she was well loved. She was an active member of Carmel Baptist Church where she taught adult Sunday School for many years. Yvonne is survived by her husband of 8 years Lewis Wayland Johns of Monticello, MS and one brother, William S (Bill) Hill of Stringer, MS. Children, Donnia Harvey of Monticello, MS, Dyan Todd (Tommy) of Jayess, MS and James Brent Landrum also of Monticello, MS. Grandchildren Evan Todd (Candace), Ashley Bull (Micah), Will Todd, Matthew Harvey, Kystal Dyess (Greg), Austin Landrum and great grandchildren, Zeke Todd, Lola Todd, Lizzy Todd, Brody Bull, Molly Bull, Grady McNeese, Jaxx McNeese, and Brelynn McNeese. Mr. Carroll C. Alexander, 82, of Jayess, MS passed away peacefully at his home, on October 13, 2023. Carroll was born on November 10, 1940 in Tylertown, Mississippi to Esley and Mattie Alexander of Jayess, Mississippi. The visitation will be on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 1:30 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM at Divide Methodist Protestant Church in Monticello, Mississippi. The interment will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Davida Dunaway Alexander; his children: Lisa Dawson (Bobby) and Bonita Sullivan (Mike), and son-in-law: Larry Robinson. He is also survived by a sister, Francis Easterling; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Cindy Robinson; 6 brothers: Reginald, Robert, Carl, Leon, Van, and Oakley; and 1 sister: Evelyn Faulkenberry. Carroll was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He worked hard as a mechanic and maintenance technician so that he could retire and enjoy his family. After his retirement, he enjoyed making wooden toys and taking them to festivals. He also enjoyed raising goats and chihuahuas, camping, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Alvie G. "Dicky" Mahaffey 72, of Sontag, Mississippi passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at his residence in Sontag, Mississippi. Dicky was born June 20, 1951 in Brookhaven, Ms. to William A. and Willie Bea Daughdrill Mahaffey. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 9:30 am until 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag with funeral services at 11:00. Graveside services will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag, MS. Bro. Jimmy Smith and James Earl Hunsucker will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Dicky was a true outdoorsman with a love of hunting and fishing. If you ever wanted to know where the honey hole was all you had to do was call. His love for his family and wife was unending. His grandbabies were his world. His main goal in life was to always be a loving, supportive, and Christian husband, father, and grandfather. He would always lend a hand when needed. For over 40 years he made deer sausage and was the only one who knew the recipe. Always God fearing and a servant for the Lord. Dicky is survived by his wife of 45 years Fay Mahaffey of Sontag; daughter, Mandy Lou Mahaffey; son, Andy Mahaffey (Abbey) all of Sontag. Dicky also had one niece, Angela Clark and a nephew, Stacey Mahaffey; grandchildren, Dawson and Anna Grace Mahaffey. Dicky had a host of nieces and nephews.
