Justin Laford Obituary

In Loving Memory of May 10, 1995 - April 30, 2023 Son of Teresa Lynn Flamand and Jim Thompson. Loving brother of Dana McLeod (Filipe Silva), Amanda Flamand (Ben Jacko) and Shane Flamand. Grandson of Yvonne (nee Trudeau) and Leroy McLeod and Lorraine and Stanley Flamand. Cherished nephew of Parker (Vivian) McLeod, Patricia McLeod of Thunder Bay, Alfie McLeod (predeceased), Corrine Flamand (Micheal McLeod), Darlene (Alan) Kaboni, Scott (Annette) Flamand. Will be missed by his special great auntie Helena Trudeau. Forever in the hearts of his cousins Nathan, Danielle, Alexandria, Emileo, Matthew (predeceased), Abbie, Hannah, Tevin, Rayne, Kye, Laura, Carmen, Zane, Hana, Niighe and Nchiiwat. Loved by his godparents Alanna Trudeau and Parker McLeod. Will be missed by Jacqueline McLeod and the late Micheal Laford. Sadly remembered by the Flamand, McLeod, Trudeau, Kaboni and Laford families as well as many aunts, uncles and friends. Justin was a wonderful person with a strong heart. He grew up learning the traditional ways. He grew up travelling a lot on the powwow trail as a hoop dancer and a grass dancer. Justin loved playing baseball, spending time outdoors, going for long walks, and listening to music. He was able to participate in a youth exchange with a dance troupe that brought him to Rankin Inlet. He was very focused on anything he put his mind to. One time he wanted to be rapper. He was usually straight to the point but he loved his family and made a point to remind them every time he saw them. He will be remembered for his loving soul. Resting at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni Visitation on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 4:00pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11:00am. Burial to follow in the Wikwemikong Upper Cemetery.
