June H. Dillon, 93, of Manchester, MD passed away on September 9, 2023 at the Golden Crest Assisted Living. Born April 23, 1930 in Upperco, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ruth (Curtis) Hale. Beloved wife of the late Jay Samuel Dillon. June was a member of Forest Christian Fellowship and Campside Evangelism. She enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. Surviving are her three sons, Atlee Resh Martin, Jr (Donna), Michael David Martin, and Larry Alan Martin (Donna); daughter, Linda June Roemer (Paul); sister, Ann Shaw; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. June also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. The family will accept friends for a visitation held Friday, September 15, 2023, from 10 AM-12 PM at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St. Hampstead, MD 21074. A funeral service will begin at 12 PM, immediately following visitation. Interment will follow in Forest Ridge Cemetery, Upperco, MD. Kyle Edward Dickens, 81, of Manchester, MD passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at his daughter's home in Hampstead, MD. Born March 28, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Guy Edward Dickens and the late Katherine Olivia (nee Tracey) Dickens. He was the husband of Linda Ann Dickens, his wife of nearly 13 years. Mr. Dickens was a graduate of Westminster High School in Westminster, MD. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam Era. He was employed by BGE, first as a lineman then later as a foremen, retiring in 2007. He was a member of Westminster Post 31 of the American Legion; AMVETS in Hanover, PA; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1406 in Hanover; the Dug Hill Rod and Gun Club; the North Carroll Rod and Gun Club; and the Loyal Order of Moose, Westminster Lodge #1381. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and boating. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his daughters and son-in-law, Stacey and Lee Walsh of Hampstead, Norma Jean Waggoner of York, PA, and Joni Dickens of Monet, MO; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald H. Dickens of Westminster. He was predeceased by his sister, Janice Duensing; and brothers, Guy E. Dickens, Jr. and Charles R. Dickens. At his request, the family will celebrate his life privately. Arrangements are entrusted to ELINE FUNERAL HOME in Hampstead. John Stewart Erb Sr, age 93 of Manchester MD died November 5, 2023, at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Longview in Manchester MD. Born in Pleasant Valley, MD on April 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Paul Theodore and Mary (King) Erb of Pleasant Valley, MD. Also predeceasing John besides his parents was his sister and brother-in-law, John and Cora (Erb) Armacost and son-in-law Donald Wise. Surviving John are two brothers, Paul T. Jr, and David F. Erb, both of Westminster MD. His children, Jean Miller (Todd) of York PA, Jane Wise (Russ Hudson) of Gettysburg PA, John Jr. , (Barb) of Dacula GA, as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, a niece Linda, two nephews Charles and Wilbur, and several cousins. John also has a bonus granddaughter Haley Wise. John was a graduate of Westminster High School. He previously worked for Shriver's Canning Factory before and after his time in the Army. John served during the Korean War as an ammo truck driver to the front lines. He earned a Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal for his active duty in Korea. John then went onto to work for the Maryland State Road department as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1995. John enjoyed fishing, old western movies, country music, and woodworking. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 12 p. m. at Myers Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St. , Taneytown, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a. m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.Show more

Michael Walter Donmoyer, 67, of Manchester, MD gained his Harley wings on Friday, September 15, 2023 at his home, surrounded by family. Born March 20, 1956 in Annapolis, MD. , he is the son of Robert "Skip" Louis Donmoyer, Sr. and Dorothy Inez (nee Bass) Donmoyer. He was the loving husband to the late Diane Theresa Donmoyer. Mike was predeceased by his wife, Diane; his father, Robert "Skip" Louis Donmoyer, Sr. ; his sister, Sandra Gail Howard-Donmoyer; and his nephew, Chuckie Donmoyer. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy I. Donmoyer of MD; alongside his sons, Christopher Michael Donmoyer of FL and Jonathan Wayne Donmoyer of PA; his brother, Robert L. "Skipper" Donmoyer, Jr. of FL; sisters, Petrice M. Resh with her husband Chris Resh of MD, and Terina "Teri" M. Mann of PA; Earl "Buddy" Warriner of MD; Debra (Howard-Donmoyer) Vecera of MD. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Michael is also survived by Jimmy and Karen Yirka of SC and Dennis "DJ" Youmans of SC, friends that blossomed into family throughout the 28 years Mike worked alongside them at Arborcare Tree Experts SC. To know Michael in any sense was to love him -- many would say he was family to them. Mike was a very social man, affectionately known as "The Italian Stallion. " He greatly enjoyed dancing (those hips didn't lie!), playing pool, hunting, boating and fishing on "The Second Time Around," football, NASCAR, and most of all riding his beloved Harley. Michael was a member of Sons of the American Legion Post 200, Hampstead, MD and past member of the Loyal Order of Moose of Reisterstown, MD and the VFW. The family will hold a Celebration of Life and Final Ride for Mike at a future date. Robert James Simpson, 85, of Manchester, MD, passed away on July 13, 2023, at Bridging Life Hospice in Westminster, MD. Born September 16, 1937, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Ida (Hartzell) Simpson and the beloved husband of Peggy Stone Simpson, his wife of 32 years. Robert was a graduate of Howard High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and after leaving the military joined the Maryland State Police. During his 23 years with MSP, he served as a Road Trooper before transferring to the aviation division where he flew medevac helicopters. After retiring from MSP as a sergeant in 1983, he spent 11 years flying for MedStar in Washington, D. C. Robert was a licensed pilot and instructor in both fixed wing aircraft and jet helicopters. He enjoyed skydiving, operating Amateur Radio and participating in Cycle Across Maryland (CAM) tours. He was an active member of the Maryland Troopers Association, Maryland State Police Alumni Association, Quiet Birdmen, and Experimental Aircraft Association, where he donated his time and services flying 360 Young Eagles who were pursuing their interests in flight. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two daughters, Laura Simpson of Chambersburg, PA, and Susan Meyer of Hampstead, MD; son, Robert Simpson of Gettysburg, PA; brother, Kenneth Simpson and wife Deborah Graham of Pueblo, CO; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Christ Lutheran Church, 16530 Trenton Church Road, Upperco, MD, 21155, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 10:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation, with Pastor Michael Adams officiating. A reception will take place after the service.
