June Ackermann Obituary

June Conand Ackermann went to meet Jesus on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the age of 89. Born in New Orleans on June 25, 1933, she was a resident of Louisiana for most of her life. June is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Joseph Ackermann, to whom she was married for 68 years. She is also survived by her daughter, Jennifer Ackermann Parker; son-in-law, James Lynn Parker, III; granddaughter, Jenevieve Katherine Parker; and grandson, James Lynn Parker, IV. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Joseph Conand and Mathilda Seguin Conand; and siblings, Adine Conand, Vivian Conand Truxillo, Evelyn Conand Buras, Josephine Conand Lassalle, Pershing Joseph Conand, Denis Joseph Conand and Lester Joseph Conand. June graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School. She was employed by National Screen Service and Westinghouse Electric Company. Once her daughter was born, she devoted herself to volunteering in her community. She attended Saint Benilde Catholic Church. She was a member of the Carnival Krewes of Iris and Rhea and delighted in participating in the associated social activities. June enjoyed traveling with her husband and daughter, touring all fifty states, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. She will be missed by all that knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard in New Orleans, on Saturday, April 29, 2023. The visitation will begin at 12 PM with the Catholic Mass to follow at 2 PM. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
