Julijana Milivojevic (Mirkovic), was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia on September 4, 1940, passed in San Pedro, CA September 25, 2023. As a child she was involved with sports, with a penchant for volleyball. She was married to Vojislav Milivojevic for 40 years at the time of his passing in 1997. After her and Vojislav married, they immigrated to France, then later on to Rochester New York, then settled in San Pedro, CA. Julie was a devout in her Serbian Christian Orthodox religion, and attended Christ the Savior in Arcadia CA as well as Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in San Gabriel CA. She worked for over 30 years with Von's market, as well as with Century 21 Real Estate for a time. Julijana was known as an excellent cook, her love for music, she was loads of fun being humorous, and had a spirit of hospitality and generosity. Julijana was preceded in death by her parents Rosa and Vojislav Mirkovic; brothers Vesselin Mirkovic (Vesa), Rade Mirkovic, and Misha Mirkovic; nephews Vince Mirkovic and Dragan Milivojevic ; sons David and Aleksander Milivojevic; grandson Joseph MilivojevicJulijana is survived by her son Milan (Miki) Milivojevic, his wife Lucy MIlivojevic (Fizulich), their two sons Milan Milivojevic Jr. , and Nikolas Milivojevic. Also survived by her grandchildren Hali Hess (Milivojevic) and David Milivojevic Jr. , great granddaughter Emma Hess; nieces and nephews Daniel Mirkovic, Vince Mirkovic, Ivanka Sebez (Milivojevic), Amber Klesges (Scott-Milivojevic) and Natasha Milivojevic-Kovacevic; as well as her longtime partner of 16 years, Rajko Tomic.

Our Beloved Deserie "Dez" Denise Medina went home to be with the Lord, on November 23, 2023. Deserie was born on June 15th, 1963, to Betty and Lawrence Ornelas in Denver, Colorado. She was the first born out of five children. Deserie spent some of her younger years in Denver, and then moved to California with her parents. She spent time in the Bay Area, and then planted herself in the South Bay Area. She lived in Torrance, Wilmington, Carson, and San Pedro. Deserie was married to Henry Atkins with whom she had her two daughters Crystal and Sabrina. She eventually married her beloved Husband Roy Medina, with whom she had two more children, Theresa, and Rudy. Deserie was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She is predeceased by her father Lawrence, Grandma Dee, Grandma Mary, Papa Norman, Mother in-law Carol, Grandson Christian, sisters Laura and Lisa, and may other family members and friends. She is survived by her beloved mother Betty Ornelas, husband Roy Medina, her children Crystal Atkins, Sabrina and Raul Yanez, Theresa and Javier Arceo, and Rudy Medina. Her grandchildren David, Davina, Dalina, Darla, Jacob, Cesar, Sebastian, Ashtian, Trystian,Jeremiah, Jianna, Jaylyn, and Champ. Great grandhildren Scarlett, Annabel, Layla, Kamerynn, Nikolai and Nailah. Brother Vince and sister-in-law Maggie, brother Red, brother Brian and sister-in-law Ginger, and brother Carlos. And we cannot forget Bella, her little chihuahua. And many many nieces and nephews and friends. Deserie put her family before a career, she was a stay-at-home mother not only to her children but also to be there for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her big heart that always matched her big smile. She loved cooking and being with the family. Through the good times and the bad times, she always looked for the best in people, she was generous and dependable in times of need. She is going to be missed by many people that had the privilege to come to know her and become her friend. Deserie, you will always be in our hearts and in our memories. We love you. Nick Andrew Mardesich, Jr. passed away on October 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. Nick was born on July 11, 1953, graduated from Bishop Montgomery High School in 1970 and he was proud to be a life-long resident of San Pedro. He was an all-around sportsman; he could play a round of gold that rivaled the pros, and he was a true "blue" Dodger fan his entire life. Nick worked in the family seafood business at both American Fisheries and Star Fisheries then as a bartender at Mules where he was everyone's best friend. Nick loved his family and friends as they brought so much joy to his life. He loved sharing memories and stories and he remembered everything!He was preceded in death by his father, Nick Mardesich and is survived by his devoted and loving mother, Anita Fistonich Mardesich; children Nicole (Greg) Edwards, Nick Mardesich III and Kristen Mardesich; grandchildren Derrick Edwards, Gabriella Edwards and Nick Mardesich IV; cousins Andy Fistonich, Jr. and Joni Fanning. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 10/26, 3:00-7:00pm at McNerney's Mortuary. A funeral mass will be offered on Friday, October 27, 10am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, October 28 at 11:00am. In lieu flowers, donations may be made in Nick's name to Mary Star of the Sea High School 2500 N. Taper Ave, San Pedro, CA 90732. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 10/26, 3:00-7:00pm at McNerney's Mortuary.Show more
