William Steiner

William Steiner

Age - 66

Bill, age 66, (Also known as Henry and Billiam to his special friends and family. ) was born to the late David Henry Steiner and Marianne (Grindley) Steiner in Kokomo Indiana on January 20, 1957. He grew up on their little farm in West Middleton, Indiana and graduated from Western High School of Russiaville, Indiana in 1975. It was there that he met his wife DeAnn Joyce Smith at their school's pool in 1974. He was a cute, shy senior and she was a lowly outgoing freshman who decided to flirt with him. They were married on May 27, 1978, the day after her graduation and they immediately left for Lompoc, California where he was stationed at Vandenburg AFB. Bill had a beautiful infectious smile and a witty sense of humor that carried on down to his last days. He was known to crack 'dad jokes' and quote funny movie lines to answer your questions. Like if you asked him 'What can I do to help you?' He'd reply "I don't know! Rent a gun and buy a bullet! Ha Ha Ha!" (It's a quote from a movie. ) Then he would add "I know I'm a sick puppy!" This granted him the name of 'tons of fun' by his family. Bill was a lineman for Dayton Power and Light for 32 years and absolutely loved his job. When he retired from there, he and DeAnn moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona where he worked for the city driving a bus for Vista Transit. He always said he was fortunate to love both jobs he held. In December of 2013 Bill suffered an almost fatal heart attack and it was discovered that he had pulmonary fibrosis caused by rheumatoid arthritis. He suffered with this disease for more than 10 years with grace and a sense of humor that many loved and appreciated. He endured with his faith and hope in Jehovah God and the coming resurrection. So much so that when asked how he was, he'd say "another day closer to paradise. " Psalm 37:29, Acts 24:15, Revelation 21:3,4 Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, DeAnn. Their oldest son David (Chrissy) Steiner and their children Tyland, Erin, Ray, Emily, Brandon and Alex. Their second son Jared (Tasha) Steiner and their children Kayla, Macy, Charlie and Piper. And their daughter Leslie (James) Calhoun and their children Tobias and Abrahm. He is also survived by his brothers, John (Karen) Steiner, and Steve (Jenice) Steiner. And by family member Kim Buffum. He is also survived by his in-laws, Pete & Charlene Smith, Penny Smith, Peggy (Rudy) Obermeyer, Vicki Smith and Amber (Jerry) Freeman. These along with so many nieces and nephews from both sides of the family, as well as a 'plethora' (It's another movie quote he used!) of other beautiful family and friends scattered across the country. He is also greatly missed by his 'puppies', LeeLoo Rey The Light of Zartha and Lursa Beatrice of Jakku. (Yes, he was a sci-fi movie buff!) We want to thank the kind wonderful staff of the Canyon Vista Medical Center who took such good care of him in his final days. No memorial arrangements are planned at this time. Please in lieu of flowers donations can be made to any of the following organizations. donate. jw. org, pulmonaryfibrosis. org, or helpfightra.
