Julia Wolf, age 91, of River Ridge, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023. A visitation for Julia will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 15208 Highway 73, Prairieville, Louisiana 70769, followed by a mass of christian burial at 12:00 PM. Julia will be laid to rest in Lakelawn Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. , New Orleans, LA 70124. Betty Trahan O'Neill passed away peacefully in River Ridge, Louisiana on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born in Franklin, Louisiana on December 19, 1930 and moved to New Orleans as a young girl. She was a 1947 graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School. After high school she worked in banking where she met her husband, Jack O'Neill. They were married in 1952. After raising her three children, she went on to work at First Parish Court of Jefferson as an assistant administrator. She retired in 1991. Betty was a devoted parishioner of St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church in Harahan since 1967. She and Jack were also members of Colonial Country Club. She was also a member of various garden clubs and homemakers clubs. She took a great interest in genealogy, gardening, embroidery, watching Wheel of Fortune and spending quality time with family and friends. Mother of Peggy O'Neill Schreiber (the late Clinton), Patrick Michael O'Neill and Kelly O'Neill Newell. Grandmother of Lyle Charles Melancon, Jr. , Ashley Melancon Christopherson (Kent), Michael Gerard Reine, Jr. (Paige) and Elizabeth Ann Newell (Richard). Great grandmother of Alex Ryan Christopherson, Ann Marie Melancon, Aubrey Rayne Christopherson, Kylie Brynn Christopherson and Bennett Paul Reine. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, John Francis "Jack" O'Neill, Jr. ; her mother, Eula Landry Trahan and father, August Ozeme' Trahan. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Notre Dame Hospice, particularly Lily, Ann Marie, Latoya, Pastor Tom and Bailey. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Notre Dame Hospice or St. Rita of Cascia Church in Harahan. Judith Dunne Fall, age 82, of River Ridge, Louisiana passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 29, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Clarence and Loretta Fisher Dunne, her sisters, Joycelyn Rose Dunne Stanley, and Patricia Dunne Braud, and a brother Ralph Edward Dunne, Sr. , and her loving companion William Bergen. She is survived by her son, Steven Mark Fall, Sr. , (Gail Gussoni), her grandchildren, Steven Mark Fall, Jr. , and Elizabeth Ann Fall, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Judy was raised in Uptown New Orleans where she attended Fortier High School and continued her education to become a certified professional assistant. She was employed by Boh Brothers Construction Company as an executive assistant to Mr. Robert H. Boh for over 30 years. After retiring, she enjoyed bird-watching and was past President of the local chapter of the Louisiana Ornithological Society, she also enjoyed traveling to various locations to participate in bird-watching events throughout the country. She was a devoted mother to her guardian angel and beloved son Steven who she raised entirely on her own. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. We would like to thank the Compassus team of nurses, caregivers, social workers, spiritual advisors, and management for their support, care, and assistance during this difficult time. And special thanks to Kelci Runnebaum who she loved like a grandchild, for her love, care, and assistance. Dorothy Jean Donovan Hill, age 96, of River Ridge, Louisiana, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. She was born in East Saint Louis, Illinois on November 8, 1926. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bernard L. Hill, Jr. ; parents, Michael Logan Donovan and Genevieve Losh Donovan; brother, Michael Logan Donovan, Jr. ; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Giammolva Hill. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lee Hill Wilton (T. Heard); two sons, Douglas Owen Hill and Matthew Donovan Hill (Lynne); six grandchildren, Thomas H. Wilton, Jr. , Andrew Bernard Wilton, William Owen Wilton, Maegan Hill Whittle, Ethan Hill, and Tyler Owen Hill; and four great grandchildren, Bella Whittle, Madison Maurin Wilton, Meredith Mae Wilton, and Ripley Gail Wilton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for over 40 years and was currently a member of Munholland United Methodist Church. She was a member of the New Orleans Geological Auxiliary and the National Republican Party. She was nominated for the prestigious American Legion Award in 1943 in Houston, Texas. In 1947, she graduated from St. Luke's Episcopal Nursing School, and had a successful career as a registered nurse until becoming a full time homemaker. With her best friend and loving husband, Bernard, she attended the New Orleans Opera for 20 years and the Rivertown Repertory Theatre. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 12:00PM with Rev. Jonathan Beck officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will follow the chapel service at All Saints Mausoleum (in Metairie Cemetery).
