She also loved to volunteer her time at the local thrift shop, and the annual church rummage sale. She is survived by her sons Kurt D. Reichenbach (Tatia Winecoff) of East Hampton, CT; and Carl M. Reichenbach (Christine) of Southbury, CT; her three Grandchildren, Evan, Cameron, and Henry; her sister Faith J. Preston of Glastonbury, CT. A Memorial Service in celebration of the life of Judy will be celebrated at 10:30 a. m. on Saturday October 14, 2023 at First Church of Christ, 2183 Main Street, Glastonbury, CT. Richard Edward "Dick" Thurz, 77, of Glastonbury, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at his home. Born in Hartford on October 8, 1946, son of the late Edward Joseph and Sophie Dorthy (Stosonis) Thurz, he was raised on his family's farm in Glastonbury and was a graduate of Glastonbury High School, Class of 1964. After high school, Dick continued his education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida where he studied Engineering and received his private pilots license. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree, he worked at several of the former United Technologies Companies as an Aerospace Engineer, including Sikorsky and at Hamilton Standard, and Pratt & Whitney. He later returned to school at the University of Hartford where he received his MBA. Dick transitioned into a career in business and worked for several years at Cigna Insurance Company before leaving to start his own financial planning firm, Thurz Financial. Dick sold insurance and investments for many years through his company and had worked well past retirement age advising his clients on Medicare, investments and insurance. He was a member of the Enfield Lodge of Elks, No. 2222, B. P. O. E. and enjoyed traveling to lodges throughout Connecticut. Proud of his Polish and Lithuanian heritage, he was also a member of the former Polish National Home of Hartford, St. Casimir's Lithuanian Society in the Poquonock section of Windsor, and the Polish Cultural Club of Greater Hartford. A devout Catholic throughout his life, Dick was a parishioner of SS. Isidore & Maria Parish - St. Paul Church in Glastonbury and was also a member Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity which he shared with his family. He enjoyed the ocean, dancing, disco music, boat rides, day trips, dining, and sharing life with his longtime partner Mary. He always looked forward to getting together with his family especially for holidays and spent many enjoyable family dinners at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. He leaves a son, Brian Edward Thurz and his fiance Lisa Griggs of Enfield; his partner, Mary T. Pakulski of Canton; seven cousins, George Cataldi, Sister Patricia Cataldi, MD, Dorothy Stosonis, Michael Stosonis, Steven Stosonis, Terry Perry, and Kathy McCormick. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 29, 9-10:15 a. m. , at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd. , South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a. m. , at SS. Julia Mae Creech, 95, of Glastonbury CT, passed away peacefully onNovember 16, 2023 at Addison Place in Glastonbury CT surrounded by her loving family. Born in Elliottville, KY on July 4, 1928, the daughter of the late William & Mollie (Fraley) Conn. At age just 15, she bravely boarded a bus and traveled to Orville, OH where she began working to help support her parents and six siblings in rural Appalachian Kentucky. In 1946, she met and married the love of her life, Glenn E. Creech. They were married for almost 40 years prior to Glenn's sudden passing in 1986. Julia was a charter member of the 1st Baptist Church in Fairborn, OH, and a longtime member of 1st Baptist Church of Ferguson, MO. Julia was a devout Christian who loved her Savior, His scriptures, and each of the faith communities of which she was not just a member, but a pillar. In her earlier years, Julia enjoyed bowling, traveling, and later in life was an active member of the Hebron Senior Center, but her peace and solace was always found in gardening, flowers and birdwatching, with cardinals being her favorite. All of this paled in comparison, however, as Julia's greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family. She especially loved Christmas holidays: from selecting and wrapping gifts to Johnny Mathis playing on the record player to annual tree decorating parties and family photographs with Santa. She is survived by her sons, who held her hand to the very end, Philip D. Creech of Amston CT and Paul G. Creech and his wife Renee of West Hartford CT, her daughter, Brenda Burns of Manchester CT, her three grandchildren, Chloe Mission and her husband Jonathan of Windsor CT, Jillian Mondaca of Clinton CT and Jordan Stachowiak of East Hartford CT. Julia also had four great-granddaughters, finer to her than any treasure, Sophie Mondaca, Rylee Creech-Mission, Shiloh Mission, and Quinn Mission. She also had many beloved nieces and nephews that are as dear to her as if they were her own. Julia, Lottie, Donna, Willie, Johnny, Tom, Karen, Barbara, Stephen and Danny. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Glenn E. Creech, her six younger siblings, Willie Conn, Opal March, Lottie Tolliver, Harlan Conn, Hattie Marie Conn, and Raymond (Junior) Conn. A funeral service for Julia Mae Creech will take place on Wednesday 11/22, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Life Church New England, 23 Griffin Road, Granby, CT 06035. Jean N. (McCamley) Wilson, 86, of Glastonbury, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023 after a courageous journey with Alzheimer's. Born in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna J. (Silensky) McCamley and one of six siblings and three half siblings. She graduated from Georgetown University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. While playing the organ in the university chapel, Jean met her husband Donald King Wilson, Jr. and sealed their fate of 59 loving years together, raising nine children. Jean led a full life devoted to her Catholic Faith, caring for her family and many others. After university, she worked as a registered nurse and then became an amazing homemaker, moving multiple times while her husband served in the US Navy. As her family grew, she volunteered in her community at every level, always connecting with those in need. She was active in her church St. Patrick- St. Anthony as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered at the House of Bread soup kitchen in Hartford, CT. She also volunteered in the Glastonbury school music department and at Watkinson School in Hartford, CT coaching soccer. She loved cooking, gardening, animals, playing the piano, organizing holiday family gatherings and especially looked forward to seeing her great/grandchildren. She was an avid reader and a staunch supporter of education, making significant contributions to various charitable organizations. In her downtime, she enjoyed watching soccer and basketball, annual trips to Bermuda and spending summers on Echo Lake in East Charleston, VT. Throughout her life, she was private and stoic, but determined and brave, making an indelible mark on those around her. Ultimately, she found the greatest joy and peace in her family, helping others and tending to her beautiful gardens. She will forever be missed by her family and all those who loved her and were touched by her kindness. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald King Wilson, Jr. , half sister Margaret Curtis, of Hollidaysbury, PA, sister Mary Ann Catherine of Erie, PA, brother Thomas McCamley, half-brothers James "Bud" McCamley and Harold "Dude" McCamley all of Philipsburg, PA, son Mark Wilson and grandson Christopher Leduc, both of Glastonbury, CT. She is survived by her brothers John J. McCamley and wife Annick of Hayes, VA, Patrick and Irene McCamley of New Bern, N. C. , and sister Elizabeth (Nancy) Lewis and husband Dr. William Lewis of Palm Beach, FL. , along with many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by eight children and their spouses, nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, including daughter Jeanne and husband David Farrell of South Glastonbury, daughter-in-law Mitzi Wilson of Glastonbury, CT, son Jeffrey and wife Paula Wilson of Glastonbury, CT, son Donald and wife Laurie Wilson of South Glastonbury, CT, daughter Kathleen and husband Mark Galley of Westport, CT, daughter Kristen Wilson of Jamaica, VT, daughter Ann Marie Wilson of Glastonbury, CT, son Peter and wife Maureen Wilson of Auburn, MA, daughter Elizabeth and husband Matt Cameron of Marlborough, CT, and grandchildren, Sean, Shannon, Derek, Casey, Lyssa, Ashley, Cory, Hannah, Jamie, Tyler, Madison, Brewster, Ryan, Emily, Grace, Colin, Lainey, Jackson and great-grandchildren, Maya, Cameron and Cayden. Michael John Vail, 72, son of the late Robert and Esther (McKean) Vail of Glastonbury, CT passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023. Michael had an extraordinary appreciation for life. He spent most of his early youth fishing or deep in the woods enjoying nature. He could also be found on the baseball field, where he was a star shortstop at Glastonbury High School. Michael went on to Lester Junior College and then Franklin & Marshall College to pursue his love for the English language and continue his athletic career. He was a star in baseball and soccer. Returning home, he built a career in Sales, working for steel manufacturers Highway Safety, Buffalo Specialty Products, Trinity Industries, and as Vice President of Sales for Elderlee, Inc. He was not only an employee at Elderlee but part of the corporate family. Michael was a deep thinker, offering profound advice to those he cared about. He mentored several colleagues and family members through transformative times in their lives. Enjoying life's finer things was paramount in Michael's happiness, whether it was taking the ride to the shore or sharing laughs over a fine meal. He shared his love of photography and music with close friends and family. He was a dignified man. Michael was survived by his wife, Andrea, and children Kelly Vail, Michael Vail Jr. (Megan), Jaclyn Manager (Michael), Monica Page (Jamie), and Richard Hamilton (April). Also left behind are 9 grandchildren, Gianni, Jax, Madison, Tyler, Connor, Sophia, Owen, Morgan, Taylor and soon to be born, Michael J. Vail III. Joan C. Chaput, age 76, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Donald Chaput passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Born in Hartford to John P. and Rose (Bordonaro) lacino on April 28, 1947. She was raised in Hartford, attended local schools and graduated from South Catholic High School. Joan went on to graduate from the University of Saint Joseph in 1969. During her Senior year she was engaged to the love of her life, Don Chaput. They were married in 1970 and remained happily married for 53 years. Joan went on to obtain a Masters degree from Central Connecticut State University. She immensely enjoyed her career teaching in several school districts in both elementary and special education. Joan and her husband moved to Glastonbury from their home in Newington in 1978. In Glastonbury they raised two sons. During travel soccer season she enjoyed many happy hours at soccer fields watching her sons play. Joan was also an avid fan of poetry (especially haiku), and was published in several journals. She was also a longtime member of the Wit and Wisdom Society. She enjoyed many family vacations; especially those with large theme parks or beautiful beaches with many interesting craft stores close by. In retirement she was especially fond of vacations with her husband to Kennebunkport and Bar Harbor, Maine. Above all she enjoyed getting together with family and close friends especially around the holidays. She leaves behind her loving husband Don of Glastonbury, son Michael of Amston, son David (Amanda) and their daughter (Joan's cherished granddaughter) Elliana of Manchester, Uncle Paul Bordonaro (Ange) of Windsor; cousins Robert Bordonaro of Windsor, Mark (Naida) of Amston and Karl (Phyllis) of Naples, Florida. Joan also leaves behind many other cherished dear friends and relatives. Joan was a very loving, selfless, and caring person who will be missed by all. Ralph J. St. Jean, 73, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 3, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Leslie (Cannon) St. Jean. Born in Van Buren, Maine, Ralph was the son of the late Roland and Cecile (Masse) St. Jean. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. Ralph worked as a welder in the steel industry for many years as well as a machinist in manufacturing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons Christopher J. St. Jean and his wife Christina of Andover, Jason M. St. Jean and his companion Christine Morgan of East Hartford, his three daughters Candice L. St. Jean of NH, Jennifer Waterman and her husband Chad of Colchester, Danielle C. St. Jean of Glastonbury, his brother Rodney St. Jean and his wife Becky of ME, three sisters Rena Tetlow and her husband Doug of Manchester, Diane Belling and her husband David of Coventry, Michelle Beaulieu and her husband Dan of ME, his grandchildren Dillon, Anthony, Devin, Julia, Alyssa, Colton and Dana, his sister-in-law Georgette St. Jean of East Hartford and his brother-in-law Don Dube. Burton A. Kelley, son of Robert and Agnes McKinney Kelley, passed on November 4, 2023, at age 76 in Loudon NH, after 2 years with Parkinsons and dementia. He was born on July 21, 1947, and spent his youth in Glastonbury, CT. After High School began working for Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford until his retirement after 40 years. Burton enjoyed bowling, winning trophies, owned boats, traveling to Maine for fishing and cruising Connecticut waters. Woodworking was a favorite, making end tables, bookcases, a dresser with matching nightstands, and more. Visiting sawmills, looking for different wood species to make an interesting piece and shopping for woodworking tools was a hobby by itself. Enjoying the outdoors, worked at Belltown Orchards in the blueberries, was a member of the Glastonbury Sportsmen Club, hunting and fishing. In winter, neighbors enjoyed him snow plowing their driveways and sidewalks. Snowmobiling was another outdoor theme. Later in life, Burton and Christine were joined in marriage, October 14, 1995, for 28 years. Once enjoyed and loved, all becomes part and fabric of daily living together. Growing roses like his Dad, gardening and relaxing at night with cross stitching that he framed. Burton was a good man who committed nameless unremembered acts of kindness. It is the life in your years and Burton lived while he was strong. Burton is survived by wife Christine, sisters Blanche Putnam and Elaine Rusczyk, a predeceased brother Robert Kelley: and Marilla, nieces and nephews are Laurie Mankus, David and Lynn Rusczyk, Paul and Sandi Rusczyk, John and Merrily Rusczyk, and Michael and Jennifer Biddle, Rick and Diane Carpenter, Michael and Jane Kelley, and John and Kelly Kelley and numerous young ones making new generations.
