Judith Ann (Knoche) Mattson, 75, of Milford, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in Bridgeport Hospital after a short illness. She was the widow of Robert B. Mattson, who passed away in September. They were married 46 years. Judy was the daughter of the late John L. and Dorothy Lee (MacDowell) Knoche. She was born on May 9, 1947, in Bridgeport and grew up in Stratford, graduating from Bunnell High School in 1966. She was employed by a number of companies over the years, including Remington Arms, Tilo, Sikorsky Aircraft, and The Milford Bank. Along with her husband, Bob, Judy was a longtime volunteer for many organizations, including the Elks, Masons, and Shriners. She was a marshal and an active member of the Daughters of the Nile, Pyremus Temple #82, for many years. Judy was also a former clarinet player in the Milford Community Band and especially enjoyed performing at their Christmas concerts. She also enjoyed camping, going to tag sales, and doing word puzzles. In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Helen (Mattson) Peterson. She is survived by her brother Alan (Nancy) Knoche of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, niece Karen (James) Dalby of Milford, nephew Raymond Peterson of St. Louis, Missouri, great-niece and great-nephew Kaitlyn and James Dalby, Jr. of Milford, an aunt, and six cousins.
