"Shirley Jean Terry 88, of Hurricane, WV passed away on December 3, 2023 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Shirley was born on July 20, 1935 in Winfield, WV to the late William and Vennie Ball Meadows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years: Albert F. Terry; brothers: Bill and Gordie Meadows; and sisters: Rosalie Childers and Juanita Milbee. She was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, and retired from Putnam County Bank. She is survived by her daughter: Diana Hughes; grandchildren: Michael Maddox (Terra) and Angela Maddox; three great grandchildren: Brianna VanScoy (Jackson), Taylor Maddox and Austin Maddox; two great grandchildren: Ryker and David Jackson VanScoy. Shirley is also survived her brother-in-law's: Keith, Wayne and Greg Terry; sister in laws: Georgia Summers, Nellie Terry, Genevieve Wesley, Elizabeth "Libby" Hardison and Lynn Craig. Funeral Services for Shirley will be 1:00pm Wednesday December 6, 2023 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church 2150 Mount Vernon Rd. Hurricane, WV with Rev. Ron McClung and Dr. Lawrence Hoptry officiating. Entombment will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Cross Lanes, WV. Friends may visit the family two hours prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggestions memorial donations be made in Shirley's name to Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Edna Mae Lewis, 76, of Hurricane, WV went home with the Lord peacefully at home with her loving family by her side after a short terminal illness. Edna was born in Winfield in 1947 to Gordon and Irene Erwin. Before retiring, she was an amazing head cook at a local nursing home, in which she enjoyed so much. Edna enjoyed life to the fullest. Her most favorite time spent was always with her family, camping, fishing, playing cards, cornhole and singing. Edna was always laughing and enjoying herself no matter the situation. She could make anyone laugh. Edna loved her grandkids and great grandkids with everything in her, she always lit up when they came in the room. Edna was proceeded in death by her parents Gordon and Irene Erwin, husband James E. Lewis, Son James E. Lewis II, Sisters Reba Black, Ruth Young, And Donna McKneely Along with many special nieces and nephews. Edna is survived by her children Sherri Lewis (Basil), Joe Lewis (Kelly) and Joyce Miller (Ronnie). Her loving Grandkids Beth Shull, Josh Lewis (Bradie), Macey Mooney (Tyler), Austin Lewis, Riley Miller and Gracie Miller. Very special great grandkids Abel and Saylor Mooney, Catalina Hunt. Imogene "Jean" E Caldwell passed away peacefully on December 2nd, 2023, surrounded by family at her home after a long illness. She was born on February 1st, 1930, to the late Millard and Jewell Thornton. She was married and preceded in death by Olen "Slim/Pete" Caldwell. She was also preceded in death by 8 siblings, Harold, Ines, Hazel, Ronald, Dorotha, Jane, Louise, and Jimmy, along with her great-grandson Olen James. She is survived by her children Carl (Teresa) Caldwell, Barbara (Bud) Sovine, Ann Moore, Steve (Debbie) Caldwell and Christie Skinner. Her grandchildren, Angela, CD, Heather, Joshua, Travis, Nicki and Stephen. Great grandchildren, Porcha, Natasha, Jakeb, Zach, Nick, Skylar, Javin, Haven, Tyson, Rylee, Kierra, Easton and six great-great grandchildren. Jean was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hurricane. She spent many years with the Hurricane High School Band booster concessions. She was a seamstress, made many beautiful quilts and raised beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. She always made sure her family and friends were taken care of. "Thomas Richard Call 69, of Hurricane, WV was welcomed to his Heavenly Home on November 21, 2023 by his father: William Huel Call; mother: Anna Rock Call; brother: Wayne Call; and sisters: Angela Young and Jane Call. Tommy was known by others for his outgoing personality, infectious laugh and the love he shared for family and friends, especially his brother: Larry (Cindy) Call of Hurricane, sisters: Ellen Wilson of Winchester, KY and Karen Childress of St. Albans; many nieces, nephews and caregivers: Lisa Elkins and Kristy Frampton. Tommy loved to farm and was a former member of the Putnam County Tobacco Growers Association, as well as his love for fox hunting and was a former member of the Putnam County Fox Hunters Association. At Silver Maple Farm, Tommy could always be found working on different machinery, mowing the yard or sitting on the porch, waving at all those who passed by. He enjoyed helping out at Calls Meat Market, riding his side by side, working puzzles, going to various livestock events, especially the Putnam County Fair. Tommy also enjoyed visiting with others and making people laugh. Tommy enjoyed the holidays from hunting Easter eggs to cooking the turkey for Thanksgiving, but his favorite was playing Santa at Christmas. Tommy's Funeral Service will be 2:00 p. m. "Alice Marie Shutt Conaway Broyles 84, of Hurricane, WV went to her Heavenly Home on November 13, 2023. She was born on May 29, 1939 in Dansville, NY to the late Walter and Helen Shutt. Alice was also preceded in death by her brother: Richard Shutt of Dansville, NY and sisters: Lorraine Carver of Delaware and Doris Goodine of Florida. Alice was a retired Registered Nurse having worked in many areas of nursing throughout her long career in both West Virginia and upstate New York. She was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star, also in both states, for most all of her life. Alice knew and loved our Lord, was a devout Christian and a member of Teays Valley Presbyterian Church, Scott Depot, WV. Alice loved to read a good book and visit with family and friends. She always greeted others with a smile and kind word. Alice never met a stranger and was often accused of talking on the phone to a wrong number until they realized they knew someone in common. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved deeply and was so loved by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. While we mourn that her time on earth has ended, we take comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace and once again with her loved ones that have gone before her. Alice is survived by her son: Dr. Kevin Conaway (Cathy) of Hurricane, WV; daughter: Amy Jacobs (Ron) of Hurricane; and son: Albert Conaway (Angela) of Florida; grandchildren: Megan Hill (Trevor) of Maryland, Katelyn Aubry (Ian) of Hurricane, Madison Conaway (Tyler) of Hurricane, James Conaway (Candice) of Hurricane, Evan Conaway of Asheville, NC and Jeffrey Conaway of Cleveland, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Jacob Coiner, Harper and Charlotte Hill, and Cooper and Georgia Conaway. In addition, Alice is also survived by her sister: Marian Kennel of Dansville, NY; along with many special nieces, nephews and extended families and dear friends. "Lois Jane Fauber 67, of Hurricane, WV passed away at CAMC Teays Valley on Monday October 23, 2023. Lois was born to the late Leslie and Lula Bell Null on November 15, 1955. She spent her childhood growing up in Hometown, WV and attended Poca High School where she graduated with the class of 1974. After high school she attended Morris Harvey College of Nursing where she obtained an associate degree, graduating in 1976. She went on to care for many people throughout her lifetime until retiring from Toyota where she was a Nurse and Safety Officer for 25 years. Lois had a great love for her family and enjoyed traveling, reading, and planning vacations. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister: Edna; and two brothers: Leslie and Gary. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband: Floyd "Ike" Fauber; children: Travis Fauber, Jason Fauber and Amanda Berg; 5 grandchildren; a host of other family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 at The Red House in Eleanor, WV from 2pm-6pm.
