Juanita "Juanie" Maldonado, passed away on June 18, 2022 at the age of 56. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother and friend to many is now at rest. Although it is impossible to capture such beautiful life in only a few words, most would describe Juanie as selfless, caring and loyal. She had a generous heart that was always ready to help anyone in need. Her work ethic was unmatched; she dedicated over 15 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant working in private care. She cared for countless patients over the years and loved them as if they were her own family. As a mother and grandmother she provided unwavering strength and love. She was our biggest fan; always making it a point to attend every game, recital, or any other important event that her grandbabies invited her to. Her friendly spirit brought light to so many; she showed her joy through bright colored clothing or a bold animal print. She was truly proud of her Hispanic heritage and ensured that her family kept the old traditions alive. The happiness that she leaves behind will fill our hearts for generations to come. Jaunie is survived by her two children: Cori Diaz (Sergio Perez) and Gilbert Cantu; grandchildren: Dylan Diaz and Micala Diaz; sister: Lucy Villarreal along with numerous extended members and the family and countless friends whom she loved. Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p. m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A, with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at 7:00 p. m. that evening.
