Sherry Lynn Hamner, formerly known as Sherry Lynn Jameson, was born on September 29, 1945, in Duncan, Oklahoma. She passed away on November 24, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Sherry was born to Mahota Lovell Jameson and Joe Lee Jameson (both deceased) and was raised with values of compassion and generosity. She shared 53 beautiful years of marriage with her late husband, James Randall Hamner, whose love and companionship were the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Shelly Lynn Barnett and Holly Treyon Oliver, who were the pride and joy of her life. Sherry was a loving sister to her siblings: Nekatah Dianne Hunt, Sondra Jo Jameson, and Debbie Ann McClanahan. Her grandchildren, Ryan Kenneth Barnett, Kyi Alisa Kammer, Heath Allen Barnett, Cydnee Ann Granberry, and her five great-grandchildren were the lights of her life, bringing her immeasurable joy and happiness. Sherry also held a special place in her heart for her son-in-law, Vernon Kenneth Barnett Jr. , who was more than family--he was a cherished son to her. Sherry's life was marked by remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication. After graduating from Duncan High School in 1963, she excelled academically at Tarrant County Junior College. In January 1968, she embarked on her career with the United States Postal Service as a Postal Clerk in Justin, Texas. Her dedication led her to become the US Postmaster in Justin in January 1981. Continuing her journey, she served as Postmaster in Keller, Granbury, and Venus, Texas, retiring in January 2005 with 37 years of Postal service. Her professionalism, work ethic, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. Beyond her professional achievements, Sherry had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel that allowed her to explore the world and create cherished memories. Her family and dear friends were always in her heart, and her love knew no bounds. Sherry's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and an unwavering zest for life. Conrad R. Yiu was born on December 19th, 1965, in Kankakee, Illinois, to Chau Rong Yong M. D. and to Hedy S. Yang, and passed away on November 24th, 2023, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 57 years old. Conrad grew up in Ingleside and Corpus Christi, Texas, with sisters, LiLi and JoJo, graduated from Incarnate Word Academy (High School), Texas A&M University (Bachelor's degree), Pepperdine Graziaeio Business School (MBA), and then worked in international marketing with various companies and the medical device industry, in which he was involved in endovascular stroke therapy for over 30 years. He last resided in Ingleside, Texas, to be closer to family and friends. Conrad's hobbies were extensive, and included traveling around the world, and hiking in the Utah mountains. Conrad had significant life achievements - Conrad was a medical device industry leader and was involved in endovascular stroke therapy. While at ev3, Covidien and Medtronic, he was one of the key individuals who paved the way for thrombectomy to become what it is today. Conrad convinced his peers to conduct a trial in 2009 called STAR. This trial was confirmatory and provided great confidence to conduct SWIFT Prime as well as helping to assist in funding a series of trials, such as ESCAPE, EXTEND-IA, and REVASCAT, all published in 2015 in The New England Journal of Medicine. This helped to change the standard of care. Conrad made the world a better place for so many and it is important that his significant contributions are not lost in this great story of a revolution in therapy. Conrad was a loving son, brother and great colleague, and a friend to so many that he worked with over the years. His laughter and positive energy were infectious. Conrad had a brilliant mind and had an incredible vision and passion to shape endovascular stroke treatment. He never gave up for a good cause and did make the world a better place. Conrad is preceded in death by his parents. Conad is survived by sisters, LiLi Yiu and JoJo Yiu, and Billy Van Leeuwen, a lifetime friend since childhood. Show more

James Gerard "Jim" Claus, M. D. , 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. Graveside Service: Monday, May 11, 2023, 10:30 am at Oakwood Cemetery In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in Jim's memory. www. calfarley. org Jim was born on May 21, 1937, in Rhineland, Texas to Henry and Theresa Jacobi Claus. Jim graduated from St. Edward's Boys Boarding School in 1956. After high school, he went on to study at the University of North Texas, graduating in 1960. Jim went on to further his education at the University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston, graduating with his Medical Degree in 1964. Jim started practicing Family Medicine in Dallas in 1964 and continued until his retirement in 2015. He was a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, and the American Medical Society. One of the projects that he worked on with other doctors in the Dallas area was that they would take used medical equipment and send it to underserved countries. He also volunteered at the "Stew Pot" for years. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. The Claus family would like to thank Jim's caregivers Red, Francine, Keisha, and Linda for the exceptional care and compassion that was shown to Jim throughout his time at Avalon Memory Care. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Rosemary Haddock ad Georgeen Meadors. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret Claus; son, James H. Terry Terrance was born to parents Peter Terrance and Rosa Mae (Parent) Terrance in New York City's Lower East Side, and he grew up in that area. His early interests centered around astronomy and science, electronics, model railroading, hunting, scuba diving, and camping, most of which became lifelong hobbies. He earned Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Columbia University in New York City, and, later in his working career, an MBA from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. While at Columbia University he played on the college's football team; he also became involved in the Columbia University Rifle Team; afterwards he was for many years that college's Rifle Team Head Coach. He also taught astronomy on the college level as an adjunct. Terry was employed in engineering applications such as avionics, as a computer systems and design hardware and software specialist, and Defense Contracts specialist throughout the period from the 1980s through 2016 for companies such as Singer, Sikorsky Aircraft, BAE Systems, SAIC, and Raytheon Technologies. He was known and respected for his expertise in both the Defense Contracting community and among military contacts as well. Terry was extremely knowledgeable in many disciplines, and was regarded as an 'answer man' by his family and friends regarding questions related to auto and home repair, topics in science and its applications, firearms, hunting, and model railroading. He was passionate about Second Amendment rights and was a firearms instructor for many years. He brought his expertise with computers to the model-railroading community, and he authored a number of articles for various model railroading magazines. He is survived by his wife, Carol Surdukowski, and three children, Elizabeth, Peter, and Christine Terrance; his son-in-law, Daniel Conforti; his brother, Kevin Terrance; his sister and brother-in-law, Grace Ann and Steven Schmidt; and his niece and nephew, Jessica and Paul Schmidt. A mass of Christian burial for Terry will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Hill Main Mausoleum North Chapel, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220. Following the mass will be a committal service at 3:00 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery.Show more
