In Loving Memory of John CouteJohn Coute, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and cherished member of our community, peacefully departed this world on October 23, 2023 at the age of 79. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support for his family and friends. John was born on July 5, 1944 and raised in Bristol, Rhode Island, where he graduated from Colt High School in 1962. He moved to California in 1968 where he spent the rest of his life as a patriarch of his family and was a large presence in his community. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Barbara of 54 years, proud father to his daughters, Nicole Howes and Melissa Bennington, grandfather to Delanie Howes, Jackson Bennington, and Demi Bennington, and father in law to Scott Howes and Jay Bennington. He was loved by many including his nieces, nephews, brother in laws, cousins, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Almerinda and John Coute, and sister Bernice (Coute) Parenti. Throughout his life, John displayed remarkable qualities that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was loving, generous, and his smile would bring a smile to all he knew. He possessed a strong work ethic, determination, and a genuine sense of responsibility. These attributes were evident as he owned many businesses including Arrow Auto Air and Service Center, formerly Goodyear Tire San Bernardino and GT Kawasaki Fontana. He showed his incredible talent for sales as a Snap-On Tools Dealer for 27 years and later a franchisee plus spent countless years selling vehicles. In his free time, John had a passion for Hot Rods which he often shared with his family and friends. These shared moments were filled with laughter, joy, and a deep sense of connection. He was a member of the Over The Hill Gang San Bernardino, where he donated much of his time and energy raising funds for various cities and charitable organizations. John was also a former member of The Lions Club Fontana, a member of Saint Adelaide Catholic church, and a long term member of the San Bernardino Planning Commission. John was proud to serve his country in the United States National Guard from 1965 until 1971. He displayed his love for his country regularly to his family and continued to display his patriotism for 18 years as the proud annual announcer at the Veterans Car Show for the Volunteer For Veterans Foundation. He also leaves behind a network of friends and extended family who will miss his fun loving pranks, wisdom, kindness, and a good time! His legacy of love, resilience, and commitment will live on as an enduring example to us all. The memory of John Coute will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him. John's devotion to his family was unwavering, and his presence will forever be missed. A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at St Adelaide's church in Highland at 2:30pm. His Celebration of Life will follow from 4-8 p. m. at The Elks Lodge San Bernardino. As we say our goodbyes to John Coute, let us remember the beautiful moments we shared with him and the love he brought into our lives. Barbara Jean Becker, formerly known as Barbara Jean Grisham, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2023 at home in San Bernardino, California with her loving, caring husband Chester at her side, she was 75. Barbara was a devoted wife, caring mother, loving sister and doting grandmother and great grandmother. Born on October 1, 1947 in Eu Clair, Wisconsin. She was a woman of many talents and found great joy in the art of crafting. With her skilled hands, she created beautiful dolls and much more,Barbara's passion for crafting was a true reflection of who she was. Beyond her creative pursuits, she loved to have fun. She embarked on adventurous activities, such as skydiving, camping, water skiing, and boating, relishing in the beauty of nature and making memories with her loved ones. Barbara is survived by her loving and caring husband Chester Becker. Married in 1982 at Edwards Mansion in Redlands, California. They spent their honeymoon in Hawaii. Combining their families into one, now they were a family of eight. Barbara had two sons; one deceased, also a loving daughter. Her husband Chester with two sons, and a loving daughter,Barbara is also leaving behind one sister, 14 grand-children 7 great grand-children. Her presence and love will be deeply missed by her family and friends, as she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and affection in our hearts. Barbara will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted woman with a gentle soul. Her love for life will an inspiration to all who knew her. As we mourn her loss, we take solace in the memories we shared and the love she bestowed upon us.
