"Joyce Romero, 91, peacefully passed away in her home on September 7, 2023, surrounded by family. Funeral services are pending. She was born on May 1, 1932 in Loreaville, Louisiana to Edgar Peltier and Emerite Louvier. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Emerite Peltier; her two brothers and her two sisters. She is survived by her husband of nearly 73 years, George Romero; her daughter, Darlene Homme and husband Thor of Georgetown; her sons, David Romero and wife Sadie of Port Neches and Drake Romero and wife Renee of Groves; her daughter, Danyel Marquardt and husband Bryan of Beaumont; her bonus daughters, Suzette Kotz and husband Paul of Port Neches and Renette Hebert and husband Rus of Port Neches; she is also survived by those who call her "grandma", her grandchildren, Eric Homme and wife Megan, Justin Romero and wife Summer, Trey Romero and wife Leslei, Mallorie Capistran and husband Eddie, Nathan Romero and wife Chelsea, Blake Chatagnier and wife Jordan and Jessica Parkus and husband Dave; her great grandchildren Harper, Sawyer, Payslee, Talon, Coy, Clara, Evyn, Elliana, Liam, Kodie, Ryann, Alessaundra, Ava, and her newly born great granddaughter, named after her, Rivie Joyce; and a host of great nephews and nieces which include Brandon Miguez and wife Taylor, Chad Hebert and wife Shaye, April Vernon and husband Jacob, and Cherie Wilbur and husband Justin. George Fecowycz, Jr. , 56, of Port Neches died Friday, November 10, 2023. He was born December 3, 1966, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, to Peggy Childers Fecowycz and George Fecowycz, Sr. George grew up in Nederland and graduated from Nederland High School in 1984. He met his future wife, Jennifer, at Lamar University, and they moved to Port Neches after marriage. George was a devoted dad to his three children and Poppa G to his granddaughter. George loved spending time with family and friends, and he enjoyed hosting get-togethers at home on the porch. Much like his father, he was known by loved ones, customers and co-workers for his sense of humor and sarcastic wit. George spent his free time working on projects with his neighbor, watching sports and sharing drinks with friends, and going to concerts or listening to music at home. George also enjoyed traveling, and he would often plan group trips to include family and friends in the fun. Most recently, George has enjoyed spending his time on the water, on the porch swing or with his granddaughter. George is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jennifer Rhone Fecowycz; son Will and his wife Hailey Fecowycz; daughters Segal Fecowycz and Amy K. Fecowycz; granddaughter Ivy Fecowycz; sister Michelle Fecowycz Meers and her husband Kyle Meers; niece Hannah Meers, and numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hebert Public Library, 2025 Merriman St. , Port Neches, TX 77651. A gathering of Mr. Fecowycz's family and friends will begin at 4:00 p. m. , with his memorial service to begin at 6:00 p. m. , Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Broussard's, 505 North 12 Street, Nederland. Lena Bruno Mallet, 92, of Groves, TX. Passed away Friday, 06 October ,2023 at Lizete Ellis Private Home in Port Neches. She was born 20 April, 1931 to parents Sam and Mary Mondello Bruno of Port Arthur. On 20 July 1952 Lena married Malcolm John Mallet. They have three children, Roxanne Bowen and husband Rankin, Melinda Delcambre and husband Dennis, Amanda Esclovon and late husband Vernon. Later they were blessed with six grandchildren, Lance Delcambre and wife Nancy, Logan Delcambre and wife Amanda, Kaylan Arendale and husband Dustin, Kyra Gregg and husband Bryce, Julie Inza and husband Kurt and Ted Bowen IV. Then came eight great grandchildren, Evelyn Christine Delcambre, Camille Elise Delcambre, Amelia Angel Delcambre, Reese Juliette Delcambre, Drew Everett Delcambre, Taylor Leigh Arendale, Dylan Paige Arendale and Idalia Grace Inza. Lena is survived by her sister Angelina "Tootsie" Dartez and sister-in-law Gloria Mouton Bruno. Lena was a lifelong devout Catholic and member of St. Peters's Catholic Church, serving in various ministries from Altar Society to distributing communion to the sick to being a Eucharistic Minister. Lizete Ellis was Lena's caregiver. She played an integral part in her life for four and a half years. She and her staff took the utmost care of Lena. The family will always be grateful of the support and all of the thoughtful ways she gave from the heart. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty nine years, Malcolm John Mallet, Brothers Roy Bruno, Nick Bruno, Joseph Bruno and Sisters Rose Licatino, Mary Hebert, Kathryn Monk and Sadie Harrington. A visitation will be on Tuesday, 10 October, 2023 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception/ St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves with a Rosary to be prayed at 11:00 AM Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the rosary with Rev. J. C. Coon serving as celebrant. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. "Dorothy Lafitte passed away peacefully on Sunday October 1, 2023, with her husband of 75 years by her side. Services are pending. Dorothy was born on February 11, 1928, Dorothy Mae Townley Lafitte was a lifelong resident of the Golden Triangle. She was the youngest child of Gillesse Lalande of New Iberia, LA. , and Hulen Townley of Weir Mississippi. She attended St Mary's and St James elementary schools, Woodrow Wilson Jr High and graduated in 1946 from Thomas Jefferson high School. After graduation she attended and graduated from Lamar Junior College with an associate degree in general studies. In 1947 she was voted Sweetheart of Lamar by her peers. Dorothy married her high school sweetheart, Carroll Lafitte in 1948 and a busy life began with a career in banking, initially at First National Bank in Port Arthur and later as Vice President of Mobile Banking at First Bank \u0026amp; Trust in Groves. Dorothy was a member of the Immaculate Conception Mother's Club, one of the first volunteers with the Mother's March of Dimes, president of the Groves Garden Club and later president, member of the board of directors and champion for the preservation of the historical Department Club and Rose Hill Manor. Dorothy and Carroll loved to travel and spent many of her later years visiting countries all over the world. She was a beach lover and avid collector (and authority) on tiny pre-war "penny" dolls and kewpie dolls. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Hulen Townley Jr, Arthur Townley, and grandson Grant Gay. She is survived by her husband Carroll Lafitte, daughters Vicki Lafitte Gay (husband Dib) and Cindy Lafitte Proske (husband Charlie). Also, five grandchildren: Robert (Rob) Stokes, Amy Proske Becker, Molly Proske, Hillary Gay Summers (husband D. J. ) and Sallie Proske and six great grandchildren: Connor Stokes, Charlie Ann Becker, Logan Summers, Tiller Becker, Liam Summers, and Lukas Summers . . . . as well as 2 nieces and 6 nephews. The Lafitte Family would like to send a special thanks and appreciation to Delores "Dorie" Cruz and her extraordinary team of caregivers: Malou Bonin, Mary Ann Breaux, Cristina Steele, Cathy Datar, Elvie Stephenson, and Donor Herrera. "Hubert Joseph Miller, Jr. , 88, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away September 23, 2023, due to complications from Dementia / Alzheimer's Disease. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p. m. until 2:00 p. m. , with a Celebration of Hubert's Life to begin at 2:00 p. m. , Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Hubert was born December 28, 1934, in Port Neches to Eula Reed Miller and Hubert Miller. Hubert married Rhea Mae Landry and remained married to Rhea for 56 years until her passing on June 1, 2010. Hubert is survived by son Reed Miller, daughter Kim Hester and husband David, and son Joey Miller and wife Twala. Hubert was "Pawpaw" to grandsons Justin Miller, Garrett Webb, Logan Miller, Michael Miller, Riley Hester, Trent Hester, Mason Miller, and one granddaughter Jamie Price. Hubert was "Big Pawpaw" to great grandchildren Ellie Miller, Aeden Miller, Jade Miller, June Miller, and Addison Smith. Hubert graduated from Port Neches High School in 1954 and was a member of Pipefitters Local 195 for 66 years. He was an all-state center on the 1953 state champion Port Neches Indian High School football team. Hubert's loves were family and sports, especially PNG Football and the Dallas Cowboys. Hubert was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. In addition to his wife Rhea Miller, Hubert was preceded in death by his eight siblings Gilbert Miller, Carlton Miller, Peggy Sanches, Ethel Smallwood, Betty Willis, Marguerite Esclovon, Barbara Savoy, and Mary Touchet; and daughter-in-law Dianne Miller. "George Ann "Mimi" Tillotson, 87, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. George Ann was born on January 18, 1936, in Port Arthur, Texas to George and Willie Wilson. George Ann was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. George Ann had a pure and giving heart and loved spending time with her family and had a love for animals. She always enjoyed cooking the pre-game meals for the girls' volleyball team to get them ready to win. Mimi always treated anyone that entered her home like family and loved showing off her silly faces. George Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George William Wilson, and Willie A. (Hopkins) Wilson; husband, Larry E. Tillotson; brother, William Michael Wilson. "L. B. Hanks, 88, of Port Neches, Texas passed away at home with his loving family at his side. L. B. was born on June 1, 1935, in Colmesneil, Texas to Alice Woodward Hanks and Louis B. Hanks. He graduated from Colmesneil High School in 1955 and served in the United States Army. L. B. had lived in Port Neches with his wife Joyce of fortyfour years and was retired from AT\u0026amp;T. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Port Neches and an active member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, as well as on many church committees, he also taught Bible study classes and traveled to Mexico and other locations on various mission trips. L. B. and Joyce loved their church very much. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and always had a garden; but his main joy was his family, especially his seven grandchildren who he adored and loved spending time with. L. B. is survived by his wife Joyce Hanks of Port Neches; three children, Kellye Badon and husband Ty of Beaumont, Kim Freeman and husband Ernest of Houston and Kyle and wife Mendi of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Nicholas Badon of Winnie, Joyce Catherine Badon a student in Savanah, GA. , Madeline Freeman of New York, Matthew Freeman of Houston, Gracie Freeman a student in Oxford, MS, Dustin Hanks of Round Rock, and Austin Hanks of Port Neches.
