Joyce Ruth Mills, 81, of Westminster, died Friday, October 6, 2023, at Northwest Hospice Born November 24, 1941 in New York, she was the daughter of the late Ruth E (Besley) L'Amoreaux and Raymond C L'Amoreaux She was the beloved wife of Barry Conover Mills Joyce was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College where she majored in Music and Elementary Education She was affiliated with Alfa Xi Delta social sorority She worked as an elementary school teacher where she taught General Studies and English While living in the Seattle area Joyce taught English as a second language to Asian refugees and she sponsored several refugee families Joyce became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she taught primary age children in several congregations for over 40 years Joyce served as a Temple worker in the Washington DC Temple and was also a singer and soprano soloist in the Mormon Choir of Washington Besides her husband, she is survived by children Kathleen Mills and Freda Achea-Swensen, brothers Robert L'Amoreaux and Raymond L'Amoreaux, Jr , a sister Gloria Davis, grandchildren Heather Schiller, Tyler deSimon, Dylan deSimon, Jordan Spriggs, Samara Spriggs, D J Pendergraph, Justin Mills, Jaida and Gerome Young, Anaka Rappleye, Lincoln Swensen, and great grandchildren Kaeley Fowler, Harper Schiller, Giselle Young, Zy'leah Sublet, Jaylonte Sublet, Jr , Elliana and Demetria deSimon She was predeceased by a daughter Jennifer Mills and granddaughter Brittany deSimon A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 595 Johahn Dr , Westminster, MD To to the family or in memory of Joyce Ruth Mills, please

On the afternoon of December 7, 2023, Henry Charles Seibel Jr. of Westminster, passed away at the age of 88. He was surrounded by his loving family. Hank was one of two sons of Henry Charles and Anne Veronica Seibel. Known by his family and friends as Hank, he was an accomplished classical pianist, and decorated United States Navy carrier pilot. In 1963, Hank married Maureen Jane Duffy and together they raised two children, John and Mark. Hank was a passionate musician, devoted husband and father, and devout Catholic. Hank's passion for music started at an early age and lasted a lifetime entertaining family and friends with his play of Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, and Grieg. A devoted husband and man of great faith, he gave of his free time to volunteer at St. John's Catholic church and mentor men looking to turn away from addiction to find their way to Christ. When Hank and his family moved to Maryland in 1976, he and Maureen started a lifelong dream of buying land and owning horses. He was committed to caring for the land and supporting his wife and sons with their passion to ride horses. Hank was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Maureen. He is survived by his two children Mark and his wife MaryBeth and John and his wife Kathleen, and his grandchildren, Aidan, Nathan, Rachel, Bridget, Genny, and Griffin. The family will welcome friends on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 2 to 4pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Avenue, Westminster, MD. Ona Eugenija Bucevicius, 90, of Baltimore, Maryland passed away peacefully at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster, Maryland. She was the beloved wife of Zigmas Bucevicius whom she married on December 24, 1978. Ona was born in Vilkaviskis County in Lithuania on September 7, 1933 to the late Nikodemas and Petronele (Majauskas) Galinaitis and grew up on the family farm in Jakiskiai. She fled west with her family in August 1944 when the Soviets invaded Lithuania. They lived in three Displaced Persons camps in Germany and arrived in the United States on September 3, 1949. The family lived in Jeddo near Hazleton, Pennsylvania and then moved to Baltimore in 1952 joining other family members. While working as a clothes presser, Ona went to night school and then beauty school. She then worked as a hairdresser near Columbia. In addition to her husband, Ona is survived by nieces Liuda Galinaitis and Vida Callier, nephew John Galinaitis and wife Sandra, sister-in-law Regina Galinaitis and many other close nieces and nephews. She leaves many great-nephews and great-nieces including Nicholas Galinaitis, Benjamin Callier, Anneliese Galinaitis and numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews including Emerson Xenos-Galinaitis. In addition to her parents, Ona was predeceased by her brother Bernard Galinaitis, four siblings who died in childhood, two sisters-in-law including Ruta Galinaitis and three brothers-in-law. Ona was much loved by family and friends. She was a godmother and confirmation sponsor to many. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Catonsville. Her talents included oil painting, gardening, cooking and baking. She was a warm, generous person and a gracious hostess. With her husband, she traveled to the western National Parks, San Francisco, Alaska, South America and Europe with multiple trips to Lithuania. Ona said she enjoyed traveling because she was born in a horse-drawn wagon on the way to the hospital. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 2 to 4 p. m. and 6 to 8 p. m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Catholic Church in Westminster on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11 a. m. with Father Rey Landicho as Celebrant. The Mass will be livestreamed. Nicholas Galinaitis will play the organ during Mass. Interment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery. Salvitore "Vito" Francis DiNatale, of Westminster passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2023 at the age of 27 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. He was born February 26, 1996 to Lee DiNatale of Little Italy, Baltimore, MD and Victoria DiNatale of Manchester, MD. Vito is survived by siblings; Shannon Martin (Carroll County, MD), Lee Martin (Carroll County, MD), Jewels Martin (Carroll County, MD), and Joe DiNatale (Baltimore, MD). He is predeceased by his brother, Jeff DiNatale of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Vito's friends lived in Baltimore City all the way up throughout Carroll County. Vito attended Overlea High School (Avid student and member of the JROTC), North Carroll High School (obtained MD State Diploma), and Studied Psychology & Nursing - from age 7, Martial Arts, and Music. He was a former Boy Scout, and Martial Arts Expert with SEVERAL advanced black belts, trained under; Grand Master Lee DiNatale ( Dragon Wing Academy), Ed Parker (American Kenpo Karate), Grand Master Jim Frederick (Jim Frederick's Kenpo Karate, Brothers Butch & Mike Vader ( Advanced Jiu jitsu @ Seigneury Dojo), Student of James Papatonious Tae Kwon Do; a student of Arnis-Filipino Stick fighting and American Stick Fighting under James LaFord, and grappler of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu System & general grappling. He loved Music and was inspired by his favorite musician, Jimi Hendrix, to play several instruments, especially loving playing his guitar, and piano and showcasing his voice. A firm believer in his faith, he faithfully attended Shrine of the Little Flower & St. Dominick's in Baltimore, St. Bartholomews in Manchester, and St. Marks in Hampstead. Vito had a tattoo on his right forearm that read 'Be the good Shepherd'; mirroring his own personal love and journey of helping others, especially friends and even strangers, to overcome their addictions and come to know of God's Existence! Marilyn Steffen Russell passed away on November 30, 2023, the day before her 89th birthday. She died at home in Westminster, MD from Alzheimer's. Her husband, Lynford Russell and daughter, Laura Russell were with her. For the last three months, Marilyn entertained the women who cared for her. Her face lit up when they arrived and kept them laughing with her wit. Marilyn was born on December 1, 1934 in St. Louis, MO to Bernice and Raymond Steffen. After graduating from Beaumont High School, Marilyn earned her RN from Deaconess School of Nursing in St. Louis. Marilyn loved St. Louis and talking about her memories from growing up there. She lived with her parents, her brother, R. Donald Steffen, and their grandmothers. Marilyn played the piano and participated in Job's Daughters. After graduation, she relocated to Chicago to work at the University of Chicago Hospital. Here she met her husband, Lyn, at a Christmas party. While living in Chicago they had three sons, Lynford Russell III (Len), Michael Russell and Stephen Russell. In the early 1960's they relocated to Montgomery County Maryland where they lived for 44 years. Once settling in Rockville, they had their daughter, Laura. While raising her children, Marilyn worked as a nurse in a doctor's office. She was very active at St. Matthew's Presbyterian Church in Silver Spring, MD. Marilyn had a strong commitment to giving to others and spent many hours volunteering. She went door-to-door collecting for many causes, was a troop leader for both Boy and Girl Scouts, sewed many items for bazaars and school plays, and taught Sunday School. After retirement, Marilyn volunteered at Children's National Medical Center on the oncology ward and for children's hospice helping many families. She followed this with volunteering for Easter Seals assisting families with children with disabilities. Many people will remember Marilyn for her artistic talent. She donated handmade items to many organizations. She was known for her detailed quilting, sewing, china painting, and embroidery. She was recognized by the Carroll County Arts Council for her quilt donations to their fundraisers and exhibitions. Marilyn made quilts for Linus Project and pillowcase dresses for children in Haiti and Africa. She belonged to the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church at St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church and the Measure of Grace crochet ministry at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Marilyn and Lyn enjoyed traveling. They took many road trips around the US including driving from coast to coast. For years they participated in Elderhostel programs which took them to Europe and England. They enjoyed that their children resided in vacation hot spots. Marilyn was predeceased by her brother, Raymond"Donald" Steffen; her brother-in-law, Mitchell "Holmes" Russell and her daughter-in-law, Cristina Russell Escrihuela. She is survived by her four children; daughter-in-law, Sandi Russell; four granddaughters (Katie Bowen, Jennifer Russell, Melissa Russell Escrihuela, Blanca Russell Escrihuela) and great-grandchildren (Victoria Bowen, Milo Kikic, Mitchell Bowen). David Charles Kromm, 88, of Finksburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at the Dove House in Westminster. David was born on September 21, 1935, in Baltimore, to the late Alexander and Nancy Reed Kromm. He was the husband of the late Arlene Anna Kromm who predeceased him in 2015. David is survived by his children, David C. Kromm, Jr. , of Bland, VA; Mark A. Kromm, of Finksburg; Janine Polanowski and husband Bruce of Westminster; Kurt A. Kromm and wife Kelly of Westminster; and six grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Jim Kromm and wife Linda, and a sister, Nancy O'Rourke, along with a host of nieces and nephews. David always enjoyed fixing things, tinkering with clocks, collecting and restoring antiques, and creating carvings out of wood. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents and wife, David was predeceased by his brother, Pete Kromm, and his sister, Jean Bankard. Harold Lee Brightful, born January 26, 1963, to the late Marjorie Shirley Sherrod and the late Walter Shirley, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at his home in Westminster. Harold, who was affectionately known as Charlie or Buck, was educated in Carroll County Public Schools where he was a 1981 graduate of Westminster High School. Throughout his life, he worked in concrete construction, working many years for Gray and Son Concrete Construction Company. After retirement, Charlie kept himself busy. He started a small lawn care service and was always travelling around cutting grass for family, friends, neighbors, and companies. He was an avid fisherman; known to get many neighborhood children involved in the local fishing tournaments. Charlies was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. He will always be remembered for his "storytelling", joking and being a "grandfather" to many local children. He had a heart of gold and always made sure children were well looked after. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved children Harold (CJ) Brightful, Jr. , and wife Allyson of Westminster, Kayla and Breana Brightful of Owings Mills; grandsons Landon and Jaxson Brightful of Westminster; granddaughters Ameerah Taylor and Serenity Robinson of Owings Mills; sister Cricket Cook of Westminster; brothers Terry Brightful and wife Kathy of Westminster, Tyrone Cook of Randallstown, and Leslie (Petie) Johnson of Westminster; special uncle Stanley Brightful (Debbie) of Westminster; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Charles Britton Lewis III, Chuck Lewis (71), passed peacefully in his home at sunrise on Saturday, November 25, 2023, as a result of metastatic cancer. Chuck graduated Westminster High School in 1970. He was an avid member of Key Club and loved wrestling. He graduated Rochester Institute of Technology in 1979 as a civil engineer and continued into a 40 plus year career in public service. In the 1980's, with the Maryland Department of Environment, he enforced environmental laws, including leading the state Superfund program. He served 30 years with the US Department of Energy in oversight offices. As a member of the Senior Executive Service, he led programs in evaluating environmental management, worker health and safety, and accident investigations. Chuck's passion was exploring his love of nature and sustainable forestry on the family tree farm where he lived with his wife and raised his family. He was a volunteer with the Maryland Tree Farm Association and some of his most proud legacies include helping to map Charlotte's Quest Nature Center in Manchester, MD and the growth of his property's pollinator meadow. Daughter's Ridge Tree Farm was recognized as the Maryland State Tree Farm of the year in 2022. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many beautiful souls. Chuck is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Joan Pohlhaus Lewis of Westminster, MD; his daughter Vallie Lewis Edenbo and son-in-law Christopher Edenbo, grandsons Miles Edenbo and Ashton Edenbo (Boiling Springs, PA); his daughter Bridget Lewis Bowers, and her partner Jeffrey Bodine, Jr. (Union Bridge, MD). Chuck had a knack for great story telling, solid advice, and loved when his home was full of laughter. Together, he and his wife shared in providing a place of love and safety to many over the years.
