Kay E. (Fitzpatrick) LeFevre, of Milford, MI, passed away Thursday, November 30 , 2023, surrounded by much of her loving family. She was born on December 29, 1938, a daughter of Bernie and Gladys (Carmody) Fitzpatrick. Kay is survived by two of her children: Dan (Mary) LeFevre of Livonia, and Sue (Craig) Ferris of Fowlerville; and 6 grandchildren: Kaylee Riegle, Megan Riegle, Andrea (Nick) Doletzky, Jake Ferris, Dana LeFevre, and Josh Ferris. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Larry, sister-in-law Mary Kay LeFevre, sister-in-law, Margaret Odegard, and her nieces and nephews: Kathy, Colleen, Jo, John, Jeff, Colleen, Mike, Tim, Karen, Kevin, Sean, and Jamie. Kay was preceded in death in February by her cherished husband and soul mate of 60 years, Bob, and her treasured daughter, Ann Riegle. She was also preceded in death by her brother Ed Fitzpatrick, sister-in-law Nancee Fitzpatrick, brother Larry Fitzpatrick, sister-in-law Carol Fitzpatrick, brother-in-law Ed LeFevre, brother-in-law Bob Odegard, and stepmother, Clara (Attenberger) Fitzpatrick. Kay graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School in Owosso, MI and later graduated with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Speech from Michigan State University. She was a true Spartan and even Alzheimer's would not allow her to forget "Go Green!" "Go White!" On June 30, 1962, she married Bob LeFevre in Owosso, MI and started their life together in Milford, MI. They had a beautiful marriage filled with love and mutual respect. They thoroughly enjoyed traveling to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Rome, their annual trip to Florida, and especially their fall color tour of Michigan. Kay was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, MSU football and MSU basketball. Kay's love of family and God were the focal point of her life. She created a home full of joy and laughter, making all who visited feel like family. Her warm smile and ability to make everyone feel at ease made her home a gathering place where there was always room for one more at the dinner table. When her children were married, she embraced their spouses as her own. Her grandchildren were blessed to have a grandma or "Greegum" that could never say no to reading them one more book. Sleepovers were a regular occurrence filled with baking lessons, trips to Kensington Park, and lots of belly laughs. Kay worked in personnel at Sears in Novi for many years. She served the Lord in many ways at their parish, St. Mary's of Milford, where she trained the lectors, assisted in the annual fair, and put her incredible cooking and baking to use for funeral luncheons. The Church and the parishioners were a second family to her and brought her much joy. Kay never missed one of her children's events, from choir and band concerts, to football, basketball, or softball games. She would pack sliced apples for Bob who would make the long commute, arriving at games in his suit, straight from work. At their home, there was always a home cooked meal and before Bob arrived, she would quickly reapply lipstick and make sure the house looked nice. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 2:00 -5:00 PM at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home, Milford. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary, Our Lady of Snows, Milford. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM at the Church Monday.
