Joy May (Stufflebean) Houchens, 46, of Dunnegan, Missouri, passed away at her home on September 10, 2023. Joy was born on May 5, 1977, in San Bernadino, California, to Larry and Georgia Stufflebean. She was the baby of five siblings. Joy met the love of her life, Gerald Watson in 2003 and were married on May 4, 2014. Joy was born on May 5, 1977, in San Bernadino, California, to Larry and Georgia Stufflebean. She was the baby of five siblings. Joy met the love of her life, Gerald Watson in 2003 and were married on May 4, 2014. Joy was a very loving person and a peacemaker. She loved raising kids, even the ones who weren't hers. You could always find her in her garden or outside playing with the critters, and always working on her tan. Joy was a Chef by trade, everyone loved her cooking, especially her clam chowder. Her favorite meal of the day was her midnight snack, mostly peanut butter and twinkies. She always enjoyed canning, a skill she learned from her mother. Joy never left the house without her makeup, and she had a counter-full to choose from. Her closet was bursting with purses, clothes, blankets, socks, shoes, and anything else you could use to accessorize. She had two sewing machines and enjoyed making all sorts of things for other people. Joy loved studying her Bible and the Torah. She taught her family Hebrew and they studied together often and lit candles throughout the week. The family practices Shabbat every Friday and Hanukkah. Joy was a woman of many talents who will be missed by many. Joy is preceded in death by her grandparents: George and Ruby (Ruth) Adams, and Floyd and Nancy (Arnold) Stufflebean, and her aunts: Sue Watson and Ernestine "Ernie" (Rhodes) Forrest. Joy is survived by her husband, Gerald Watson; her children: Steven Jaques, Christopher Stufflebean, Kirsten Houchens, Evelynn Watson, and Saphira Stufflebean; granddaughter, Abigail Rain; her parents, Larry and Georgia Stufflebean; her sisters: Nancy Stufflebean, Tina Counts, Christine Stufflebean, and Shawnda Sterling, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other family and friends.
