"Charles Earl Murphy, age 84, of Mulberry, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born June 3, 1939 in the Cass community to Floyd and Oma Ellison Murphy. Charles was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. He attended White Rock University/Pleasant View School. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Charles killed at least one buck every year for sixty five years. He was featured in the September 2001 issue of the BuckMasters Whitetail Magazine for a special ten point buck that had very unusual eye guards. He loved the Mulberry River and spent a lot of time there fishing and camping. He would make minnow traps in the river and set trotlines. Charles didn't leave many fish for the rest of us that's for sure. You had to be very special to him to learn his tricks and sweet spots. Charles spent a lot of time exploring the mountains and had located several historical places such as a Confederate Cemetery that he helped get registered with the National Registry of Historical places. He was very knowledgeable and loved to take people to all the different places he found through the years. He worked very hard to provide for his family. Charles worked as a live haul Foreman at Cargill for twenty years. He also raised cattle. Charles is preceded in death by his father, mother and a sister, Frieda Davis.
