Josephine Jefferson Obituary

Josephine Jefferson, 78, of Milford, DE passed away at Bayhealth Sussex Campus on Thursday, May 4, 2023. She was the daughter of the late John and Rena Dawson. Josephine was a seamstress by trade and worked at Milford Stitching Co. She then retired early so that she could take care of her grandchildren. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her free time, Josephine enjoyed doing crafts, most recently making Diamond Art pictures. Many of her craft items were given as gifts to others. She also liked to cook, do word search and crossword puzzles, and play Solitaire on her tablet. Josephine also derived pleasure in spending time outdoors and taking walks. While she was known to be reserved and on the shy side, once she got to know you, Josephine was quite friendly. She cared more about others and how they were doing rather than talk about herself, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, Josephine is preceded in death by her daughter, Rena J. Bradley; and her siblings, Mary Zuczek, Robert Dawson, Franklin Dawson, Jeannette Hickman, Louise Hickman, Louis Dawson, Walter Dawson, and Freddy Dawson. She is survived by her children; Richard (Karen) Jefferson, John Jefferson, and Jody (Terrence) Jarrell ; grandchildren, Christian (Norma) Jefferson, Nicholas (Lindsay) Jefferson, Kayla Jefferson, Kaitlin (John) Schulties, Alyda Gerding, James Gerding, Joshua Jefferson, Samuel Bradley, Dakkota Bradley, Ian Jarrell (Virginia); great-grandchildren, Lilana Jefferson, Savannah Jefferson, Alanna Schulties, Ryley Schulties, Reena, Angelle, Christian and Rosa Jarrell; brother, Howard (Sally) Dawson, and other extended family members. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 AM at Odd Fellows Cemetery-Camden, 35 Rising Sun Rd, Camden Wyoming, DE 19934 on Monday, May 15, 2023.
