Josephine Franzone Obituary

Josephine Franzone, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Toms River, on May 6, 2023. Josie was born on December 7, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY. She was one of six children that included beloved siblings Rosie, Jimmy, Mary, Emma, and Sonny. Josie was the youngest and the last survivor of the bunch. Josie was married on September 11, 1949, to Vincent J. Franzone. They had two children, sons Vincent Jr. , and Ed. Josie and Vinny were married for 67 years at the time of Vinny's death in 2017. After being a stay-at-home mom for 25 years, Josie joined the workforce as a professional for the first time in 1975. During a 15-year period from 1975-1990 she worked on Wall Street and became executive assistant to the CEO of a well-known investment firm. She often described this as the most fun time of her life. Josie is survived by her son Ed, his wife Kathy, and two grandchildren, Beth, and Tommy. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews and their spouses, including Tom, Jo, Vincent, Flora, Dave, Laura, Maria, Frank, Linda, and Kris. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, between 10:00am and 1:00pm, followed by burial at the veteran's cemetery located in Wrightstown, NJ.
