Josephine Bottom Obituary

Josephine Kessler Bottom of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 6, 2023. She left peacefully in her sleep to join her family in heaven. She was preceded by her parents, Cullie and Ottie Shelton Kessler; husband, Gerald Bottom; sisters, Catherine, Patricia, and Barbara; brothers, William, Samuel, and Eugene. Mrs. Bottom retired from National Geographic after 20 years of service. Surviving is her daughter, Janice K. Wilson; son, Robert L. Wilson (Maria); grandson, Robert C. Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a. m. Friday, May 12, 2023 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Troy Mays. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 540-366-0707
