Mr. Joseph Wesley "Joey" Smith of Chireno, Texas, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, in Lufkin, Texas, at the age of 42. He was born June 20, 1981, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to parents Oswell and Dawn (Byrd) Smith. He was a member of Chireno Baptist Church along with the Chireno Volunteer Fire Department. Joey had worked several years in the electrical field and was a journeyman. His survivors include his wife, Tasha Smith of Chireno; son, Hayden Smith and fiance Whitney of Chireno; son, Brayden Smith of Chireno; daughter, Camdyn Smith of Chireno; a grandchild, Baylor Smith of Chireno; his parents, Oswell and Dawn Smith of Chireno; a brother, Matthew Smith and wife Rachel of Chireno; and nieces and nephews, Owen Smith, Alexis Moore, and Karter Moore. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p. m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Chireno Baptist Church, located at 141 New Camp Road off FM 95 in Chireno, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Chireno Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Belgard officiating. Graveside services for Gaylon McClendon, 72, of Diboll, will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 2:30 p. m. at Grimes Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Whisenant officiating. Mr. McClendon was born on September 6, 1951, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Roy Leo McClendon and Florine (Hambrick) McClendon and died Thursday, November 30, 2023, in Lufkin. Mr. McClendon served in the National Guard. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. McClendon was very witty, had the best sense of humor, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed going to Paw Nick's cabin and was a talented guitar player. Mr. McClendon loved his family more than anything. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen McClendon of Diboll; daughter, Lori Ann McClendon of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Kay and Stevie Nelson of Jacksonville, TX; grandson, Benjamin McClendon of Bryan, TX; granddaughter and husband, Starr and Ben Thomason of Diboll; grandson, Richard Gaylon Larabell of Alto; grandchild, Ozzy Larabell of Lufkin; great-granddaughter, Ruby Eleanor Thomason of Diboll; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Carolyn McClendon of Tremonton, UT; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Pam McClendon of Burke; sister-in-law, Kathy Kennedy of Lufkin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bobbie Faye BuffaloOctober 17, 1942 - November 23, 2023Bobbie Buffalo, passed away in her home surrounded by her daughters on November 23, 2023, at the age of 81. She was born in Ft Worth, Texas on October 17, 1942. She moved to Deer Park/Pasadena, Texas at the age of 19 where she raised her children. In 2022, she moved to Warren, Texas to be closer to her daughters. She is survived by her twin brother, Billy Johnson of Deer Park, Texas; daughter Cynthia Howell and husband, Glenn of Seattle, Washington; son James Buffalo and wife, Yolanda of Deer Park, Texas; daughter Amanda Tucker and husband, Tommy of Warren, Texas; daughter, Kimberly Ewald and husband, Brent of Warren, Texas. Funeral services for Blake Beathard, 33, of Pollok will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Karen Shumaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells. Blake was born July 6, 1990 in Houston, Texas to Tracy Danette (Wood) and Charles Randall Beathard, and died Monday, November 27, 2023 at his residence. Blake grew up in Wells and graduated with the Class of 2008. He became an Instrument Technician for Udelhoven Oilfield System Services and felt blessed to work in the beautiful state of Alaska, a place most people must pay to go see. Blake loved life and never met a stranger. He lived large and didn't take anything for granted. His family remembers he was usually late for everything, loved to cook, loved listening to music and singing in the shower! Blake cherished his family and friends and words cannot describe how dearly he will be missed. Memorial services for Carl Fredrick Wagoner, 82, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 1:00 p. m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Chaplain Joshua McNeely officiating. Mr. Wagoner was born on July 19, 1941, in New Harrisburg, Ohio, to the late Paul Asbury Wagoner and Dorothy (Wiley) Wagoner, and died Saturday, November 25, 2023, in Lufkin, peacefully surrounded by family. Mr. Wagoner was an avid fisherman. He spent many days on the lakes of Georgia, Florida, and Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas. Mr. Wagoner was a truck driver in his younger years but could not get away from his love of small engine repair. He owned a lawn mower business in Carrollton, Ohio and in Lufkin, Texas. Mr. Wagoner knew small engines like the back of his hand and was known to be able to fix anything. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
