Joseph Simpson Obituary

May 6th, 2023 Joseph J. Simpson (Joe) passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover. As a career Naval Officer, he served his country in WWII, Korea and Vietnam retiring in 1974 having qualified for Succession to Command at sea. Lt. Simpson subsequently was employed in various roles and with several companies involved in Nuclear Power Government and private industry projects. As well as a consultant in Business and Finance roles. Joe was an active community service person and assumed leadership roles in Nashua, NH and was an active member of the Nashua Country Club, Exchange Club of Nashua, Chicago Yacht Club and Milwaukee Yacht Club and most recently the Cocheco Country Club in Dover NH. He was known as a kind gentleman, who love to tell stories, enjoyed travel, sailing, golf and socializing wherever he was. He was loved and respected by many. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dr. Judith Simpson of Durham NH, son Joseph John Simpson II, Daughter Marlaine Fiocco, Granddaughters Megan Smith, Granddaughter Tara DiSandro, Grandson, Joseph DiSandro and Stepsons Jeffrey French and Jonathan French as well as Granddaughters Chelsey French, Lyndsey French, Alixandra Folse and Grandson Nathaniel French. Joe also was thrilled that he lived to be a Great Grandparent to Evan LeMay, Olivia Rose Coffman, and Thea June Folse. A private Military graveside service will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on May 11, 2023.
