As a young man, he felt God's calling to the mission field, and he traveled with his family to Liberia and Guyana to preach the Gospel. Kendall and his family returned to Missouri in 1996 before ultimately settling in Olathe, Kansas. There, Kendall began his second career as print shop coordinator at Olathe Medical Center, where he worked for ten years. During that time, he also served as pastor of Mount Herman Baptist Church in Sedalia. In 2006, Kendall pursued his lifelong interest in the medical field by enrolling in the nursing program at MidAmerica Nazarene University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Kendall served as a Registered Nurse for the rest of his working years. Kendall was a student of history, theology, photography, medicine, and countless obscure and diverse subjects, such as John Brown and Ha Ha Tonka Castle. Although a devout Christian, Kendall's worldview was nevertheless heterodox and uniquely his own. He always had a supply of pens stowed in his shirt's pocket protector, and his wristwatch had a calculator long before Apple existed. His humor was self-deprecating and sharp. We will miss him dearly. "Show more
