"Joseph R. Macchi, 60, passed away suddenly, October 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born March 25, 1963, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Ann Matoon Macchi. Joe worked for the US Postal Service at the Bulk Mailing Center in Springfield for over 37 years. He was a graduate of Taconic High School in Pittsfield, and the Porter and Chester Institute in CT. Joe was always fixing things for other people. He loved spending time with his family at his camp in Otis, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was a volunteer at the Lions Den at the Big E. He leaves his beloved wife, Victoria (Kalill) Macchi, his loving daughter, Luna, his loving siblings, Susan Guinan-Smith of Lee, Robert Macchi of Pittsfield and Thomas Macchi of Lee, his beloved nieces and nephews, Patrick, Emily, Kellin, Maeve, Margaret, Annie, Molly, Ella and Elliot. He also leaves his beloved dog, Elliot. A funeral home service will be Sunday October 8, 2023, at 4pm from the Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield with calling hours Sunday from 1-4pm. Burial will be private. "

Carolyn M. (Lyles) Campurciani, 99, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Robert and Ida (Brinson) Lyles, she grew up in East Longmeadow and moved to West Springfield in 1944. She worked for Pratt & Whitney and for Hadley Furniture where she met her late husband, Robert L. Campurciani, Sr. She was a member of Mitteneague Methodist Church. She enjoyed taking care of her home and her family. Her husband of sixty-nine years, Robert L. Campurciani, Sr. , died in 2014. She leaves two sons, Robert L. Campurciani, Jr. of West Springfield, Ronald P. and his wife Delilah Campurciani of Davidson, NC, a daughter and her husband, Gloria C. and Curio Nataloni of Wilbraham, four grandchildren, Elana Silva, Michael Nataloni and his wife Alexandra, Kayce Campurciani, Meadow Campurciani, three great-grandchildren, Ava, Jack, Vincent and a sister-in-law, Diane Maltoni Houser of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Eugenia Webb and Lucielle Schieding. Kathryn Louise (Sinkovich) Gonet, 98, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at home in Feeding Hills, MA. Born in Youngstown, OH, daughter of the late John and Barbara Sinkovich, she graduated from Youngstown University with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree, Cum Laude. She went on to graduate from nursing school at St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in Youngstown, OH and became a registered nurse. She worked for many years at the West Springfield Nursing Home and Heritage Hall Nursing Home before retiring in 1989. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills, MA. She leaves her husband of fifty-fouryears, Lewis John Gonet, three nephews, Robert and his wife Carol Sinkovich of Ohio, David Sinkovich of Ohio, Joseph Sinkovich of North Carolina, four nieces, Peggy Stevens, Mary Lou Favich, Evelyn and her husband James Felch of Bradenton, FL, Dorothy and her husband Edward Gulla of Brandeton, FL and many other nephews. Her husband would like to thank Abee Ikah for her dedication in caring for his beloved Kay. Luigi Parillo Sr, 85, passed away on Nov. 22, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Pontelatone, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Maria Parillo. He owned his own barber shop for many years. He loved boating, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Verdi & Dante clubs where he enjoyed playing cards and bocce. He was predeceased by his wife Bernadette (Landry) Parillo and his sisters Carmela Parillo and Angelina Cervone. Luigi leaves his children; Joseph Parillo (Connie), Bernadette (Brian) Berchulski, Savina (Larry) Cummings and Luigi (Bridget) Parillo Jr. , his grandchildren Joseph and Christopher Parillo, Benjamin (Chelsea) and Brett (Stephanie) Berchulski, Nicolina, Chloe and Michael Parillo. His great grandsons Mack and Vincent Berchulski, his brother Michael (Laura) Parillo, his sister Rosa Russo, daughter in law Patti Parillo along with many nieces and nephews. Beryl had been an active member of the Mitteneague Congregational Church and other churches where she had lived. She was happiest spending time with her family. She leaves her husband of seventy years, Sheldon "Paul" Fahringer, two daughters, Holly L. LeRoyer of South Thomason, ME, Paula J. and her husband, Michael Nestor of West Springfield, and a grandson, Brandon Nestor of West Springfield. Michael E. Filkoski, 54, a loving son, brother and uncle, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 25, 2023 surrounded by his family. Michael was born to Patricia A. (Bielonko) Filkoski and the late Edward G. Filkoski, in Springfield, MA on November 13, 1969. He grew up in Agawam and was a 1988 graduate of Agawam High School. Michael had a big heart and a big smile. He was a central figure in a close-knit family. He faced many health challenges over the years and did so with such courage, strength and determination. Through it all, he never lost his faith. He was a long-time communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills, MA. He also loved Polka music and going to Polka dances, both near and far. He was an avid sports fan, with football being his favorite. He was loyal to all the New England teams as well as the local teams. Michael carried on his father's passion for the Big E and attended regularly when it was in session. In addition to his mother, Patricia, he also leaves behind his loving sister, Christine M. (Filkoski) Arendt and her daughters with William E. Arendt, Stacy and Amanda. These were his identical twin nieces that he loved very much. He didn't miss an opportunity to celebrate any event or life milestone with them. They loved him very much. In addition, he leaves a void in the hearts of many aunts, cousins and friends. Anyone that knew him felt the sadness of his passing knowing the kind and gentle soul that he was. He is also missed by his furry cat friend, Tootsie. Susan passed away peacefully at home, on Thanksgiving, surrounded by family. Sue is survived by her daughters, Caitlin Coffey and Meaghan Serafin, her son Sean Coffey, her grandchildren, Kailey and Liam Serafin, her sister Mary Fowler and her nieces and nephews, Melissa Quinn, Jennifer and Christopher Loiselle, Joshua Fowler and Sabrina Lamay, Dave Coffey, and brother-in-law, Steve Coffey. She is pre-deceased by her mother, Phyllis Hart, her husband Michael Coffey, her beloved brother David Hart and her sister Kathy Loiselle. Sue led her life with an amazing amount of resilience and grace. Always the "multi-tasker", she artfully tackled and succeeded in her 45+ year career in the Insurance Industry; mastered becoming an amazing mom overnight to two step-children (even though she may have tried to eliminate them by waxing the wood stairs); lovingly mothered her sweet daughter Caitlin; effortlessly supported her husband during the many sales dinners, sales trips, golf outings and client dinners; a devoted friend who unselfishly attended plays, golf tournaments, trips to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Hilton Head, Vermont & Florida, and suffered through glass after glass of Pinot Grigio; skillfully taught tens of girl scouts how to cross-stich, sew, knit and excel and grow into fine young women; highly skilled at curating craft days and day trips to entertain kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews and neighborhood kids; and finally, her unrestrained talent to turn a 5 minute phone conversation into a 3 hour call and a lifelong friendship. Like all of us, Sue had her faults, but for some reason, she just wore them better than others. There is no pocket or season of life where Sue did not find a friend. Sue lived true to the lyrics of one of her favorite songs. Janet Elizabeth (Clark) Fox passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023. Janet was born in Winstead, CT and grew up in Tolland, MA, the only daughter of the late Allen and Charlotte (Wilcox) Clark. She was predeceased by her husband Paul Fox in 2015. She had lived in West Springfield for over 45 years. Janet attended Colby college in Waterville, Maine in 1960 and graduated from Westfield State University. She was a teacher at the high school level in Enfield, CT and later a professor at Bay Path University. She was a long-time member of Springfield Country Club where she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and was an avid golfer. Janet loved traveling and ventured to Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and South America. She loved orchids because they are stronger than you think. She loved her students and remembered taking them to Mystic to see a whale after reading Moby Dick. She was a gardener, keeping a beautiful greenhouse at her home, a huge Red Sox fan and a lover of nature and all animals, especially her late cat, Duval. Janet leaves her friends and dear neighbors. A committal service will be held Monday, November 27, 2023, at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Virginia I. (Schmitt) Sayward, 86, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late George and Marie (Provensal) Schmitt, she grew up in Hartford, and moved to West Springfield in 1966. Virginia worked for Southworth Paper Company for many years and after she retired, she worked for the Riverside Park, now Six Flags. She enjoyed camping, quilting, gardening and was an avid baker, making her children's wedding cakes. Her husband, John N. Sayward, Sr. , died in 1989. She leaves four sons, John N. "Jack" Sayward, III of Becket, Steven A. Sayward of Monson, Dale E. Sayward of Middletown, CT, Brian R. Sayward of Ellington, CT, two daughters, Anita M. MacDonald of Westfield, Donna L.
