GIRGOS - Joseph J. Jr. , 92; Johnstown, passed away on June 21, 2022 at Conemaugh Hospital. Born March 2, 1930 in Johnstown, son of Joseph J. Sr. and Elizabeth (Fedock) Girgos. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Dorothy (Riner); and sisters, Mary Agnes Girgos and Annette Lazorchak. He was the last survivor of his immediate family. Survived by children, Joanne Magro and husband Larry, of Dallas, GA; and John J. Girgos and wife, Sonja (Guydo), Brandon, FL. Also survived by grandchildren, Michael Magro, Kyle Magro and Kiersten Girgos; and great grandchildren, Tyler and Kylie Lieb. A Korean War Veteran serving in the U. S. Air Force. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. A member of the Croatian Hall Lodge 5, and the First Catholic Slovak Band Hall, where he often bartended. A member of the Holy Name Society at St. Therese Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 1:00 p. m. , the Rev. Bernard Karmanocky. Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery, where the Conemaugh Valley Detachment 287 Marine Corp League will provide military honors. Friends received Friday, from 4 to 8 p. m. at the Francis G.
