Joseph A Foti 88 of Jackson died Friday, October 6, 2023 at Concord Healthcare, Lakewood, NJ. He was born, raised and resided in Elizabeth for many years before moving to Woodbridge and later Jackson in 2004. He owned and operated both Jr's Dari-Laine and Station House Cafe in Elizabeth for 20 years each. Joe mentored and employed many young individuals while in business and met people from all over the country. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his Harley and living life to the fullest. His greatest joy was his family and he worked tirelessly to ensure they never went without. He had a heart of gold, a belly full of pasta, and a smile that could light up the room. Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Jane Guardino, 2 daughters Darlene Foti Sheets (Mark) & Elaine Antunez, 4 grandchildren, Joseph Antunez, Marissa Carusio (John), Jason Sheets (Nicole), & Ally Sheets and 3 great grandchildren, Joseph "JR", Layla & Aubrianna. Visitation is Monday 4-8 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 125 S. Cooks Bridge Rd, Jackson NJ. Funeral Liturgy is Tuesday 10:30 AM at St Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold with entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Paul Vincent Gaffney, 84, of Manchester, NJ (and formerly Colts Neck, NJ), passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Paul was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Herbert and Mary "Mini" (Healy) Gaffney. He graduated from Snyder High School, and later obtained a bachelor's degree in business from St. Peter's University. Paul was also a Navy Veteran, serving on the U. S. S. Roy O Hale during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Paul had a long-standing career in Sales Distribution in the Automotive Industry, last working for Atlantic States Lubricants of Long Island, New York. Paul had an enormous heart, great sense of humor, and he and his dear wife loved to travel the world together. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full of knowledge gained through all of his life experiences. Paul will be remembered for all the love he shared with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed. Paul is predeceased by his younger brother Herbert "Buddy" Gaffney. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Eleanor (Demko) Gaffney; loving children Heather Gaffney and her husband Chris Fry of Middletown, DE, Kristen Beyer and her husband Brett of Medford; adored granddaughters Burke Beyer and Hudson Beyer; loving siblings Anne Robinson of Dover, Edward Gaffney of North Carolina and Catherine Core and her husband Joseph of Chicago, IL; and many loved nieces and nephews. Nina Kotlyar, a beloved resident of Bronx, NY, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the age of 77. Born in the enchanting city of Yaroslavl, Russia, she settled in Baku, Azerbaijan, before eventually finding her forever home in the Bronx in 1991. Nina had a rewarding career as a Nuclear Procedure Technician in New York. In her free time, she found solace in life's simple pleasures. Whether taking leisurely walks, immersing herself in the beauty of a captivating read, or exploring the wonders of the Botanical Gardens, Nina found joy in the world around her. Her love extended to collecting historical items, particularly books and antiques, which she treasured deeply. In a remarkable display of determination, Nina pursued her dreams. She achieved her college degree from Bronx Community College later in life--a feat she held close to her heart and rightfully took pride in. Leaving behind cherished memories, Nina is survived by her loving sons, Eduard Kotlyar and Bryan Kotlyar, and her daughter-in-law, Julya. Her sister, Ludmila, remained steadfast in her life, offering unwavering love and support. Nina's greatest joys in her life were her four grandchildren, Larry, Daniel, Lea, and Matthew. She poured her heart and soul into being the best grandmother she could be, creating lasting memories and instilling a valuable lesson that will carry on through generations. A visitation will be held on Friday from 12 PM to 1 PM, followed by a heartfelt service at 1 PM at the Oliverie Funeral Home at 125 S. Cooks Bridge Rd in Jackson. On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, David Thomas Clayton, 70, loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side. David was born, raised, and resided in Howell Township, New Jersey for nearly 50 years before moving to Jackson. He was well loved at his management position at 002 Auto Parts in Freehold where he worked for many years before retiring as an ironworker. Everyone who knew David knew that laughter was the way to his heart; a witty attack was his love language. His big belly laughs came easily but we all tried to earn more. David was a true outdoorsman, a hunter and fisherman. He loved the watching ducks fly over the bay, riding down backroads, strong coffee, cold beer, cowboy movies, baseball, and his family. David was predeceased by his parents, Daniel Clayton and Joy Stokey Clayton, and brother-in-law, Roger Daoust. Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Kathleen (Firrman) Clayton, sons, Daniel and Richard, daughters, Donna Bohnet and husband Eric, Laura White and husband Rupert. He also leaves behind his sisters, Lois Primmer and husband Robert, Debra Daoust, and five grandchildren, Rupert White IV, Eliana White, Christopher Bohnet, Nicholas Bohnet and Paul Bohnet. Helen Sclafani, 103, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2023. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY into a big Italian family. Later in life she resided in Plantation, FL where she lived happily for twenty years. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Vero Beach, FL then Jackson, NJ. Helen was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed keeping a meticulous home and especially loved cooking delicious Italian meals. She took great pride in her appearance and was always fashionably dressed. Helen is survived by her daughter, Carol and husband, Gary; granddaughters, Alicia and husband, Michael; Danielle and fiance, Antonio; grandson, Damian and wife, Klodiana; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving Husband of 65 years, Damian, and her devoted Son, Thomas. She will be reunited with them in Heaven along with her Mother, Father, sisters and brothers. Helen will always be remembered as a strong willed and courageous woman who endured many illnesses and losses but never gave up. Her faithful devotion to God and to the Blessed Mother carried her through her entire life. She will be greatly missed and forever loved. A special thank you to all those dedicated nurses, aids and staff at Harmony Village at CareOne in Jackson and Ascend Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
