Joseph Fischer Obituary

"Joseph S. Fischer, 66, formerly of Newburgh, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 in Elon, North Carolina. He was born June 9, 1956 in Evansville to the late Samuel Joseph and Mary Jane (Arvin) Fischer. Joe graduated from Castle High School in 1974 and attended USI. He worked for Colonial Bread, McDonalds and most recently worked for AutoZone. Joe attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Joe's knowledge of automobiles was extensively vast and wide. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast. Joe was a loving husband and father. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Joe is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kate (Wright) Fischer; daughters, Sarah (Steve) Gaddy and Heather (Mark) Nance; son, Joseph (Falen) Fischer; daughter, Courtney (Curtis) Prince; grandchildren, Aidan Nance, Eva Mann and Cooper Prince; and brothers, David (Pat) Fischer, Mark Fischer and Dan (Yvette) Fischer. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Katrina Bateman. Visitation will be from 4:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Avenue, Evansville. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a. m. Friday, April 28, 2023 at the funeral home with Father Martin Estrada officiating. Burial will follow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery in Elberfeld, IN.
