Joseph R. Ardizzone- 56 of Matawan, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday September 10, 2023, with his family by his side. Joseph was born on December 1, 1966, in Queens, NY to Joseph and Violet Ardizzone. Joseph was predeceased by his longtime partner, Vicki Sasso. He was the devoted father to Anthony and his fiancee Danielle, his son Joe and daughter Marissa. He was the loving brother of Eva and her husband Michael and beloved Uncle to Brianna. Joseph was also the cherished grandfather of Mason, Gabriella, Ayden, Michael and Zachary. Joseph is survived by his father and mother Joseph and Violet Ardizzone. Joseph loved his 49er's, but it was his family which he truly loved being with, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

"Marion Elinore (Dugan) Joscelyne, of Matawan, NJ, passed away peacefully at Spring Hills of Matawan with family by her side on October 20, 2023 at the age of 93. Born on July 1, 1930 in Windsor, Canada to Edwin and Helen (Harrison) Dugan, Marion moved with her parents and four siblings to Peterborough, Ontario, where she attended King Edward Public School and Peterborough Collegiate Vocational School. She pitched for the softball team and was an excellent figure skater. During her high school years, summers were spent waitressing at her aunt\u0027s lodge in Haliburton, Ontario, where she enjoyed canoeing and going to dances at Lake Kashagawigamog. Marion studied at Peterborough Civic Hospital, receiving her BSN in 1952 to start her career as a registered nurse. She immigrated to the United States and met her husband, Charles, while working at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. They were married in 1954 and a few years later settled in Bucks County, PA to raise their three children. Marion loved her home with family Christmases, vacations in Stone Harbor, NJ, Sullivan County, PA, and visiting her family in Michigan and Canada. She enjoyed teaching her children to ice skate, gardening, sewing and baking her specialties - delicious apple betties and butter tarts. Marion continued to practice nursing in hospitals, at Vicks/Richardson-Merrell Inc. , with private duty cases in Bryn Athyn, PA, and found her profession very rewarding. She stayed connected with her Class of 1952, meeting for reunions in Peterborough. After her children were grown and her being widowed in 1991, she moved to Matawan in 1995. She completed courses to keep her nursing license current. Prior to retiring, she enjoyed working at De La Salle Hall in Lincroft, NJ, caring for the Christian Brothers. In 2004, Marion remarried Herbert Wolke and spent some good years visiting both their families, taking trips to Ocean Grove, NJ, Lancaster PA, and Gettysburg PA. She was a parishioner of St. Clement Roman Catholic Church in Matawan, and supported many charities including Veterans of Foreign Wars and Guiding Eyes for the Blind. In retirement, she enjoyed seeing friends, reading novels and poetry, and birdwatching, her favorite being the cardinal. She loved collecting porcelain dolls, watching old-time movies with White Christmas, The Waltons, and regional sports, such as the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Mets, and girls\u0027 college basketball. The most joy brought in Marion\u0027s life, however, was her dearly loved children and grandchildren. She would organize fun games, attend school concerts and sporting events, and was always very proud of them. She touched the lives of those she knew with her graciousness and care, will always be remembered for her cheerfulness and smile, and her fond memories will remain forever. Marion is predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Joscelyne, second husband, Herbert Wolke, brothers Jack Dugan, Arnold Dugan, and sister, Dale (Dugan) Haverstock. She is survived by her brother Paul (Gail), son Charles (Janet), daughter Mary Helen (Gene), daughter Roseanne (Larry), granddaughter Clare (Conor), grandsons Andrew (Stephanie), Cameron, Kyle, and granddaughter Sarah. Also survived by dearly loved sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and treasured cousins and friends. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Bedle Funeral Home, 212 Main Street, Matawan, where a service will be held at 2:30 pm. "James Michael Murphy, 64, of Old Bridge New Jersey passed away on Friday October 6, 2023 in Matawan surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born April 22, 1959 on Staten Island, New York; Jim was the son of the late John and Anna Murphy and was raised in the Oakwood Beach section of Staten Island. After graduating from New Dorp High School in 1977, Jim enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served from 1978 to 1982. Upon finishing his active duty service to our country Jim served in the US Navy Reserves until 1984. During his time in the Navy, Jim was stationed in Norfolk, VA and served on the USS America. In 1983 Jim would marry the love of his life, Theresa Cossentino. The couple were married in Blessed Sacrament Church, West Brighton, and the reception took place at the Oriental Manor in Brooklyn. Theresa recalls the night of the wedding as one of the happiest times of her life, even though the couple did experience a flat tire on their way home. Two years later, Jim and Terri had their only child, Cassandra. Jim worked with the New York City Department of Sanitation on Staten Island. He spent time at the Fresh KIlls Landfill and also SI 1 on Jersey Street. Jim enjoyed spending his free time playing the guitar, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and was a fan of the Grateful Dead. He loved to cook and be surrounded by family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his Granddaughter Audrianna who was his best friend. Jim and Audrianna shared a profound love and she gave life to Jimmy. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Theresa, his loving daughter Cassandra, his cherished granddaughter Audrianna, son in law Michael DelPiano; his siblings John and his wife Mary, Sally and her husband Kevin, Michael and his wife Nayelli. "Christopher P. Albano, 47, of Matawan, NJ, passed away on October 13, 2023 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, NJ. Christopher was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and partner who left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him. He was born on June 28, 1976, in New Brunswick, NJ to Patricia A. Albano and Louis J. Albano Jr. Christopher grew up in Old Bridge, NJ and resided there until moving to Matawan, NJ in 2014. Christopher\u0027s early education began at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church grammar school. His love for sports started to blossom during these years, particularly baseball, which he played passionately, winning the 13-year-old state championship with his team. He continued his education at Bishop Ahr High School, where he played as a catcher on the school\u0027s baseball team and also enjoyed playing soccer. Christopher later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seton Hall University in 1998, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to academic excellence. Following his graduation, Christopher embarked on a successful career as a finance executive at Nokia, where he worked for over 25 years. His professionalism, dedication, and work ethic were admired by his colleagues and served as an inspiration for many. Christopher\u0027s passion for sports remained a constant throughout his life. He loved NASCAR, and he was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and Washington Commanders, often sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family. But his love for sports was not just limited to being a spectator; he enjoyed playing as much as watching, often reminiscing about his younger years playing baseball and soccer. Above all, Christopher was a family man who referred to his family as his \u0026quot;home base\u0026quot;. His sense of humor was contagious, often filling rooms with laughter. His radiant smile was a beacon of joy and warmth, lighting up any room he entered. Christopher P. Albano was a man of many roles, but above all, he was a man of love, laughter, and light. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. "Ann Elizabeth Hegedus, 93, of Matawan, NJ passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving daughters. Ann was born on February 21, 1930 to Joseph and Lucia DiSciullo in Cliffwood, NJ. Ann grew up in the Genoa section of Cliffwood, later moving to Keyport. Ann met her sweetheart Ed while working at NL Industries. They married in 1951. They resided in Fords before settling in Matawan in 1958, where they raised their beautiful family. Ann worked in Administration for many years for various companies; including NJ Bell, Elizabeth, NL Industries, Sayreville and Bell Labs in the Art Studio in the Holmdel location. She spent most of her career there until she retired in 1995. Ann lived a simple and beautiful life. She was a loving and kind woman, a gentle, quiet soul who always thought of others before herself. She enjoyed cooking family dinner, but most of all the presence of her family at those dinners. Ann was a deacon at the First Presbyterian church in Matawan. She was also a member of the Pioneers Club at Bell Labs. She was an avid reader and loved to garden. Ann was a wonderful wife, loving mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Ann is survived by her three daughters; Debbie Toth, Cynthia Hegedus and Amy Hynes, her grandchildren; Patrick Hynes and his wife Hannah, Celeste DePalma and her husband Christian and her most precious Great Grandson Sullivan Hynes. Ann is also survived by her sisters, Rosemary Artelli, Yola Flynn, Elsie Smith and brother-in-law, Seabrook Smith and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edward William Hegedus; her beloved daughter Barbara Smith; her parents, Joseph and Lucy DiSciullo; brothers George, Dominick, Peter, Anthony and by her loving sister Filomena. "Marcelo Pagulayan Sr, 83, of Matawan, New Jersey passed away Tuesday September 12, 2023. Born Monday, September 9, 1940 in Dungao Santo Nino, Cagayan, Philippines, Marcelo was the son of the late Antonio and Felisa Pagulayan. Raised in the Philippines, Marcelo worked for the local government (Mayor\u0027s office) as a secretary/Housekeeper. He met the love of his life, Francisca Franada. The couple got married and started a family of their own in Dungao Cagayan with three Children and eventually migrated to San Manuel Pangasinan with additional two children where he started to work as a farmer. Marcelo and Francisca celebrated 58 years of marriage this past year. Marcelo came to the United States in 2002 with multiple visa initially, and eventually became US citizen. Marcelo worked in ShopRite for few years, then he also work in the surrounding community where he maintain their lawn and garden. He enjoyed working and loved to be around his grandchildren. He likes to watch TV sports such as basketball, volleyball, boxing, UFC and News. Marcelo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who love him. Marcelo is predeceased by his parents Antonio and Felisa, by his son Roberto, by his brothers Felipe and Fidel, and by his sisters Anita and Veronica. He was employed as an insurance manager for American International Group, New York City, NY for 43 years prior to his retirement in 2012. Frank was a communicant of Most Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, Matawan, NJ. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rosalie DeFini. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marcia DeFini; his son, Joseph DeFini and his wife, Jennifer of Scotch Plains, NJ; his daughters, Carolyn Orecchio and her husband, Anthony of Jackson Twp. , NJ, and Jennifer Rosalie Outlaw and her husband, Jason of Cocoa, FL; his grandchildren, Joey, Samantha, Emily and Ashley; and by his brother, Sal DeFini and his wife, Linda of Oxford, CT.
