Jose Rodrigo Paredez Sr. , age 46, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023. A visitation for Jose will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, 5740 19th St. , Lubbock, Texas. Judith (Judy) Dunne of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Highland, Illinois died November 19, in Lubbock, Texas. Judy was born in Highland, Illinois to Nelson J. and Eleanor S. Frey. She was a graduate of St. Paul High School. After graduation she worked for a St. Louis firm, Sears catalog store, Kloss Furniture Store, and B-Line Systems. She had two children with her first husband Dale Mettler, Jennifer A. Mettler and Matthew A. Mettler. In 1987, she married Professor Patrick Dunne of Texas Tech and moved to Lubbock, Texas. She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Church in Lubbock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Eleanor Frey, her sister, Joan M. Spengel, and brother-in-law Robert L Spengel. Survivors include her husband, Patrick Dunne; children Jennifer (Rob Monger) Mettler of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Matthew Mettler of Highland, Illinois; grandchildren Benjamin M. Monger of Cedar City, Utah and William M. Monger of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brothers James J. Frey of Highland, Illinois and Thomas B. Frey of Denison, Texas; nephew Darren (Michelle) Spengel of Afton, Missouri and niece Deborah (Mark) Ginther of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law Maureen Dunne of Cincinnati, Ohio and sister-in-law Barbara Dunne of Louisville, Kentucky. Shirlene Lilley Hughes, formerly of Durant, passed away peacefully in her home on November 16, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on October 30, 1961, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Hubert and Eula Faye (Mattingly) Lilley. Shirlene was a faith-filled woman who touched many lives with her vibrant personality and unwavering dedication. Shirlene was a beloved wife, mother, and sister. She is survived by her loving husband, Mark Hughes, and their daughter, Kali Faye Hughes, both of Lubbock, Texas. She also leaves behind her sister, Darla Edgemon, and her husband Ron, of Norman, Oklahoma, along with numerous cherished cousins. Shirlene was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Eula Faye Lilley, and her brother, Gary Lilley. Shirlene was a talented and dedicated basketball player for Durant High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University, receiving numerous postseason honors including All State at DHS and Kiamichi All Star. After receiving her bachelor's degree, Shirlene dedicated her professional life to health education and coaching. She was Head Coach for the girls basketball team in Friona, Texas, a Class 2A school, for three seasons from the 1990-91 season through the 1992-93 season. Her record during that time was 84-25 and reaching the playoffs in all three seasons, including two Region 1 Finals. Shirlene later became the Head Coach for the girls basketball team at Lubbock Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas, a Class 5A school, for 19 seasons. Her record there was 437-136 from 1993-94 through the 2011-12 seasons, reaching playoffs for 17 seasons, including nine regional tournaments and five regional finals. Her love for coaching was evident in her overall coaching record of 521-161 and her active involvement with the Texas High School Coaches Association and the Texas Girls High School Association. Shirlene's passion for her work was only surpassed by her commitment to her faith. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. Shirlene's life was a testament to her spirit, passion, and faith. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. Family Hour is scheduled for Monday, November 20, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p. m. Irene Salas was born on November 20, 1972, in Dade City, FL, to Aruilano and Esmeralda (Calderon) Salas. Irene's commitment to her community and her passion for healing led her to pursue a career in nursing. She was a registered nurse working for many different hospitals but more recently Covenant Medical Center. Her dedication and expertise made a significant impact on the lives of countless patients and their families and brought love, compassion, and joy to everyone she met. She shared a loving and devoted relationship with her family including her partner Tom Foster; beautiful daughter, Alexis von Gilleland and her father Aron Gilleland, her loving mother, Esmeralda Salas, and siblings, Rudy and Eva Salas, Diana and Domingo Sepeda, Esmeralda Salas-Logan and husband Travis, Adam and Rosie Salas. She was preceded in death by her father, Aurilano Salas; and brothers, Aurilano II, Luis, Danny, David, and Joe Salas. Wilma (Heflin) Dolle, age 93, of Lubbock, Texas and formerly of Morton, Texas, died Monday, December 4, 2023 in Lubbock. She was born November 2, 1930 in Portales, New Mexico to William "WG" and Naomi (Cheney) Heflin. She married Clarence E. Dolle in Hobbs, New Mexico on October 20, 1949. Wilma was the oldest of nine children, and was the boss of the world. She was a leader for the Campfire Girls and the director of Campfire Camp. Wilma loved to sew and started Wilma's Clothes Pantry in Foyil, Oklahoma. She was a member of American Cotton Seed Delinting Assoc. She also enjoyed reading, wordsearch puzzles, painting and art. Clarence and Wilma traveled every summer on vacations with their kids. Wilma served on the Parish Council, on the Altar Society, and as a Catechist at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Morton, where she was a member for many years. After moving to Lubbock, Wilma joined the Melonie Park Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents; three sisters, Carolyn Womack, Wanda Reeves and Maxine Hudgins; and a brother, Wilson Heflin. Wilma is survived by her three daughters, Lanya Jones and her husband, Kenneth of Gilbert, Arizona, Beverly Barker and her husband, Danny of Lubbock, Texas and Kathy Ater and her husband, Phillip of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Billie Raether of Portales, New Mexico, Lora Bell Troxell of Farmington, New Mexico and Doris Ann Taylor of Hoppinville, Kentucky; a brother, William Heflin Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her four grandchildren, Dolle Barker, Natalie Owens, Sean Jones and Jennifer Pohle; her eleven great-grandchildren; and her five great-great-grandchildren.
