Curtis Weise, 69, of Kerrville, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, in Kerrville. He was born in Yorktown, Texas to Charlie and Alice Weise on November 12, 1954. He married Debbie Weise on July 9, 1983, in Yorktown, Texas. He went to school and graduated from Yorktown High School. He worked for the Street Department for the City of Kerrville for 25 years where he enjoyed working and helping the community. Curtis was one of those people who would give you the shirt off his back and do anything to help anyone that needed it. As a son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend he will be missed dearly. Fly high with the angels and look over us. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Alice Weise. Survivors include his wife, Debbie; children, Christopher (Ann), Gwendolyn, and Shana; brothers, David (Linda) and Roy; grandchildren, Tristan, Talia, Austin, Haley, Tyler and Donovan; great-grandchildren, Lavaya, Draven, Dayne, D'Marion and Ja'zyla. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday February 24, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville and a second service at Massey Funeral Home in Yorktown, Texas at 11:00 a.m., Monday February 26, 2024. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Young, Peterson Hospice, Peterson Hospital, Dr. Barrington and all the staff.

Frank Key Hopper

Frank Key Hopper, age 88, of San Antonio, passed away Feb. 12, 2024 in Kerrville, TX. He was born in Paris, MO to Louis and Katherine Hopper on July 23, 1935. He was married to Eva Hopper on Dec. 20, 1958 in Odessa, TX. Frank completed school in Missouri, studying three years at the University of Missouri. He joined the United States Air Force, 1959-1968. He also served in the US Air Force Reserves, activated for Desert Storm in the 483rd Medical Evac Unit. In the Veteran's Administration, he worked as a veterans hospital administrator in Castle Point, NY, Leavenworth, KS, Kerrville, TX, Houston, TX, and retired from Audie Murphy in San Antonio, TX. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Hopper; two brothers, Jerry Hopper and James Hopper; his son-in-law, Roger Wigfield; and his parents. Frank is survived by his brother, Edward Hopper (Ruth) who resides in Concord, NC; his daughter, Debra K. Hopper Suing; and stepchildren, Christine Wigfield and Rey Hernandez (Michelle). He has six grandchildren, Dona Suing, Kevin Perkins, Nick Perkins (Rachel), Joe Hernandez, Ann Hernandez and Jake Hernandez. There are seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will celebrate Frank at St. Matthews Catholic Church on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be attended by family at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.

Guadalupe De Leon Perez, 60, of Monterrey, NL, Mexico, passed away February 18, 2024, at his daughter's home in Kerrville. He was born March 14, 1963 in Monterrey, the son of Hilaria De Leon. He was a diesel mechanic for 40 years and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an outstanding father, brother, grandfather and husband. Guadalupe Perez is preceded in death by mother, Hilaria De Leon; and grandchildren, Maddox Luke and Tristan Guadalupe Burleson. He is survived children, Veronica Burleson, Natally Garcia and Alejandra Perez; and grandchildren, Mya Leigh, Cade Everett, Natally Madilynn Rose, Ethan Dimitry and Nicholas Jeremiah Antonio. Visitation will be held from 8 am- 8pm with Rosary at 6 PM, Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Mass will be held at 8:30 AM, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Graveside services will be held 10 AM, Friday, February 23, 2024, at Garden of Memories Mausoleum. Lehman “Lee” Strickland, 92, passed away on February 7, 2024 in Kerrville. He was born in Coldwater, Mississippi to Eugene Strickland and Vera Leslie Pardue on August 1, 1931. He joined the Army, which brought him to San Antonio with his first wife, Frances, stationed at Ft. Sam Houston. Lee retired as a medic with over 20 years of service. He served during the Korean Conflict and two tours of duty in Vietnam, earning him a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for valor. Lee and Frances were married for 23 years and brought forth six children. Upon moving to the Hill Country, he remarried to Dollie Peschel of Kerrville in 1982. He loved to dance, travel and in later years enjoyed going to Eagle Pass to relax and gamble. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters Estelle, Lorene, Carolyn and Shirley; his two daughters, Victoria Jones and Brenda Finfinger; and his wife, Dollie . He Is survived by his children, Larry Strickland of San Antonio; Julie Strickland of San Antonio; William Strickland of San Antonio; and Sandra Head of Pleasanton; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. Donald Willard Robinett

Donald Willard Robinett passed away February 14, 2024, at the age of 92, from viral pneumonia. Donald was born on May 22, 1931, in the little rural community of Blakeney in Red River County, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Pruitt Robinett. Donald is survived by his son, Larry (Deedee); daughter, Carol Stehling (Don); grandson, Josh; granddaughters, Ashley Wahrmund (Tyson), Katie Robinett, Megan Burris (J.T.), Kristen Stehling (Shawn Holub) and Tiffany Schott (Rodney). He also had great-grandchildren, Brantley, Travis, Kaylee, Austin, Tyler, Laynie, Michaela and Mackenze Wilkes. Donald was an Army veteran where he trained as a medic. Later in the 1960s, he joined the Air Force Reserves. Donald and Margie grew up together in the East Texas piney woods, where he chopped down some of those pines, fished, hunted and rode his horse to school. Donald and Margie married December 22, 1948 at just 16 and 17 years old. They moved to Kerrville in 1952 at his brother, Terrell's urging. Donald and Terrell painted houses together until Donald got a job at the VA. He got his real estate license in the 1960s. Upon retiring from the VA, he went into real estate full time. He continued to paint houses on the side. He enjoyed fixing up houses. He was sad he wasn't physically able to help work on his daughter's new house! Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the chapel at Garden of Memories, 3250 Fredericksburg Road in Kerrville.

Barbara LeJune Craigen

Barbara LeJune Craigen, 90, passed away from this life on Feb. 07, 2024, in Kerrville. Born on Dec. 21, 1933, in Beaumont to the late Lloyd and Dorothy LeJune. Barbara graduated from South Park High School and went on to attend Lamar University, both in Beaumont. She married Robert L. Craigen, and they were married for 52 years before his passing. Barbara was an accomplished artist and shared her gift with others through teaching art. She was a member of the Kerrville Art Club and won Artist of the Year (1997-1998). Barbara is survived by her children, Barry W. Craigen and wife, Denise of Livingston, Belinda Craigen and husband Gene of Kerrville; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
