Johnny Dupre Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Johnny Dupre will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023, at St. Peters Catholic Church, Pine Prairie, with Father Kenneth Mayne officiating. Inurnment will follow in Ortego Cemetery, Pine Prairie, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mr. Dupre, 78, of Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 8, 2023, in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, and watching western movies. He especially loved his little dog, Ringo. He worked many years in the gas and oil industry, and later retired from Tate Oil after more than ten years of service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by one son, Jamie Paul Dupre; his parents, Horace and Edolia Dupre; two brothers, Floyd Dupre, Sr. and Harris Dupre; and two sisters, Anna Maynard and Emma Joy Scace. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Sarah Ann Dupre of Pine Prairie; two sons, Shawn Dupre of Pine Prairie, and Kyle Dupre of Plaucheville; one daughter, Tricia Dupre Olivier, and husband Ryan, of Arnaudville; his twin brother, Joe Dupre, and wife Angie, of Pine Prairie; his mother-in-law, Lorena Johnson of Pine Prairie; eight grandchildren, Allison Olivier, Camille Olivier Doucet, Hannah Olivier, Isabelle Dupre, Katie Dupre, Noah Dupre, Peyton Dupre, and Brett Dupre; and one great grandchild, Brooks Doucet. A time of visitation will be held in the La Vieille E'glise Chapel at St. Peters Catholic Church, Pine Prairie, on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 9:00 a. m. until 11:00 a. m. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a. m. in the chapel. Honored to serve as pallbearer will be Shawn Dupre.
