STRATFORD: John F. Sherwin, age 78, entered into eternal rest on June 19, 2022, at the West Haven VA Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn Chonko Sherwin. John was born in Bridgeport on August 6, 1943, son of the late Patrick and Ann Keating Sherwin. Throughout his lifetime, John worked as a commercial fisherman, mainly dredging for oysters. A proud veteran, He honorable served his country in the United States Navy. John was happiest when enjoying a nice day on the Long Island Sound or fixing his boat. John leaves to cherish his memory, a son, John P. Sherwin of Ansonia, a daughter, Tracey Keller (Craig) of Houston, TX, a brother, Robert Sherwin of Puerto Rico, grandchildren, Brennan Keller of Ohio, Kylie Alwine (Isaac) of South Carolina and Taylor Keller of Houston, TX.
