"Dr. John W. Seybert, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away October 4, 2023. He was born December 12, 1947 in Crucible, Pennsylvania to the late Clyde E. Seybert and Mary C. Fleming Seybert. John was a graduate of Bentworth High School, received his Bachelors Degree from California State University in Pennsylvania, earned his Masters Degree from Duquesne University and his Doctorate from Indiana University. He proudly served his country for 32 years and retired a United States Army Lieutenant Colonel. John worked as a school administrator, a middle school principal for Arlington Woods and a high school math teacher for Howe High School. He was an active member of the American Legion Post #0064 and the Legion Riders Motorcycle Club and an officer for Phi Delta Kappa. John was a strong man of faith and served his community in many ways. He was still an active member and Sunday School teacher at East 91st Street Christian Church. John thoroughly enjoyed living a full and happy life with his loving wife by traveling, going on cruises, camping, hunting, motorcycling, gardening and fishing. A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 4:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at the chapel at 10:00 a. m. John is survived by his wife, Beverly Seybert; son, John Michael Seybert (Misty); daughter, Michelle Eckart (Nathan); grandchildren, Amelia and Claire Seybert and Arie, Sydney, Hudson and Riah Eckart; siblings, Clyde Seybert (Claudia), Paul Seybert, Sharon Lopez, Tim Seybert (Erika) and Philip Seybert (Lois). He was preceded in death by his brother, Lander. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to East 91st Street Christian Church, 6049 E 91st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46250. "

Her Story was born on April 22, 1930, to Jessie Hill Cartwright and Thomas Walter Cartwright in Indianapolis, Indiana. received her education in the Indianapolis Public School Systems and attended Crispus Attucks High School. worked many jobs including being a waitress before retiring from Central State Hospital with over 30 years of service as a QMA Supervisor of the nurses. married the love of her life, William Sneed on October 24, 1990. William and enjoyed music and dancing, going out, and spending time with their grandchildren. accepted the Lord and Savior as her own at a young age and you could always hear her saying that "God Is Good". sealed her Christian journey at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership Dr. Ronald Covington, Sr. held the title as the oldest living Cartwright, with the Lord blessing us with her for 93 years!!! was a feisty woman and in her last days she told us that she was "a bad a*%* woman". had a unique sense of humor and did not shy from telling you how it is or in her words how it's going to be. accepted her crown of glory on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the young age of ninety-three years, seven months and twelve days. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sneed, her parents, Thomas Walter and Jessie Hill-Cartwright, her brothers, Louis, Marvin, Herman, and John Cartwright, sisters, Lucille, Lillie Mae, Martha and Rose Cartwright, two sons, Lawrence Gerald Newton and Paul Louis Newton, and two grandsons, Ray Pettigrew and William Antwuan Newton. She leaves to cherish her memory her faithful and loving companion her fur baby "Blue"; her son, Steven Jefferson; daughters, Elnora Newton and Arnita Newton-Collins; two special nieces, Olivia Stowers and Theta Barlow; sister-in-law, Muriel Bransford; her eleven grandchildren, Tumikia Gilbert, Devonna Lowe, Gerald Moss, Sharon Newton, Brandy Newton, Loren Wilson, Roy-Melis Newton, Shandi Oaldon, Demetria Oaldon, Brittany Collins and Briana Collins; twenty-six great-grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Barbara Ann (Bittelmeyer) Callahan, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. She was born on July 6, 1942, in Indianapolis, to the late Nairn Joseph and Mary Kathleen (Odum) Bittelmeyer. Barbara was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, class of 1961, and was an office administrator in the road construction industry for many years prior to retirement. She was devoted to her family and had a passion for genealogy. Many of the family trips while raising her children included researching some elements of family history. Barbara grew up in the Garfield Park neighborhood and her family belonged to St. Catherine parish. She later was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic minister. Barbara was a wonderful woman with many talents, but she will be remembered most as a loving and caring mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. Survivors include her loving daughters, Roxanna Harris and Tammy York; siblings, Mary Bittelmeyer, Joseph Bittelmeyer, Robert (Paula) Bittelmeyer and Jane Helm; grandchildren, Corey (Barbara) Harris, Courtney (Prescott) Broscoe, Sarah (Don) Frandsen, Megan York and Valerie York; great-grandchildren, Athena and Leo with another on the way; and cousin David (Linda) Odum. Family and friends will gather on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 9 to 10:30 a. m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St. , with prayers being said at 10:30 a. m. before leaving for the church. It is with great sadness that the family of Jerry Allen Eicher announce his sudden passing at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Devoted husband of Jennifer Eicher for 51 years. Loving father of Shannon Eicher (Chris Young), Megan Fanning (Ian), Mark Rodgers (Cindy) and Leslie Rodgers (Lisa). Cherished grandfather of Andrew, Michael, Emily, Cassidy (Shea), Logan (Vanessa), Gwendolyn and Benjamin. He is survived by his siblings Terry Eicher, Debby Steury (late Vern), Dean Eicher and Anita Timmerman (Bob). Predeceased by his parents Menno and Loretta Eicher and his sister Christine. Fondly remembered by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews, both at home, and abroad. Over the years, Jerry positively impacted the Bath community through involvement with the Lions Club, Bath Fire Department and as a community policing volunteer. He was eager to be of service, regularly asking when he woke up: "how can I help someone today?". He was the one man Purdy Road welcoming committee, a kind neighbour and an amazing grampy. Always had a joke, smile, handshake or hug for everyone he would meet. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Nettie Charlene Shropshire, Miss Charlene to countless generations of swimmers, passed away at home on December 4, 2024. Charlene was born in New Castle, Indiana on July 29, 1929 to Henry and Lois (Ford) Pate and preferred to spend her time in the swimming pool at the Y whenever possible. She graduated New Castle High School before her marriage to Elmer Clevenger in 1948. The couple had three children, Michael, Cynthia, and Carol, before divorcing in 1965. She moved to the Indianapolis area in 1970 and it was there that she met Clyde "Bud" Shropshire, an architect whom she married in 1977. Shortly thereafter she began a successful career as a Realtor, working with Carpenter and Tucker until her retirement in 2002. During retirement she returned to her first love of swimming, teaching children to swim first at Five Seasons Carmel and then Bridgewater Club Carmel before finally retiring at the age of 90. She wrote and published her book, "Out of the Mouths of Babes" last year at the age of 93. She is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Lois (Ford) Pate; her first husband, Elmer Clevenger; her second husband, Clyde "Bud" Shropshire; and her daughter, Carol (Clevenger) Stephens. She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Pate) Adkins; children, Michael Clevenger and Cynthia (Ali) Mahjoub; stepdaughters, Anne Shropshire and Linda (Daniel) Ennis; her granddaughters, Amanda Stephens, Alisa Mahjoub, and Kristin (Daniel) Pulliam; grandsons, Scott Lowder and Kyle (Jessica) Ennis; her "adopted" granddaughter, Tori Tigges; great grandsons Daniel and Liam Ennis; cousin Carolyn (Ford) Pennington; and too many beloved friends, neighbors, and "little swimmers" to list. Mary R. "Rosie" Von Ins, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, entered into eternal rest at the age of 98 on December 6, 2023. A resident of Indianapolis, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, was born on July 6, 1925 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Azariah Merrell and Minnie (Ratcliff) Bell. She was a member of Worthington Seventh-Day Adventist Church,She retired from Wesley Glen Nursing Home where she was a night shift charge nurse for 14 years. After her retirement she enjoyed the get togethers with her follow coworkers. Rosie enjoyed spending time with her family, but she also enjoyed her alone time. She enjoyed going to get her hair done, dining out and shopping. Rosie always talked about her three favorite pets: a Boston Terrier named "Billy Books", a pet rooster named "Chicken" and a pet Starling she also named "Chicken" whom she rescued and raised after he fell out of his nest, She even taught her Starling "Chicken" to talk and he would say "Chicken's Mama's Bird". Rosie always gave her fur babies lots of treats and plenty of love. Rosie leaves behind to treasure her memory, her daughter, Rosie Jane (Brian) Yensho; 12 grandchildren, Brian Yensho II, Andrea (Yensho) Muhwanga, Bradley Yensho, Christopher Yensho, Donndalee (Paden) Maier, Michelle (Paden) Ramos, Donald Paden III, Michael Paden, Alexandra (Paden) Smith, Madelynn Paden, Jimmie Banta, and Sherrie Sue (Banta) Stark; 22 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" L. Von Ins Jr. ; son, Donald Paden Jr. ; daughter, Vickie Sue (Paden) Banta; brothers, "Tommy" Merrell and James "Jim" Merrell; father of her children, Donald Paden Sr. ; great grandson, Bothwell (Papa) Muhwanga, and great great grandson, Rayland Cox. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p. m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p. m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p. m. on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Union Evangelical Cemetery, Baltimore, Ohio.
