William James Edwards

William James Edwards son of the late Alice Abernathy and George Edwards was born August 4,1929 in Riverton NJ, He departed his life on February 9, 2024, at home in Trenton, New Jersey, surrounded by family. William a.k.a. Brother attended the Riverside School District from elementary school to the 10th grade. He did not graduate high school but did receive his GED. In 1950 (during the Korean War), he enlisted in the US Army at the age of 21 where he served for three years. In 1953, he transferred to the Army Reserves serving the rest of his term and was honorably discharged in 1957. He began working for the United States Postal Service in Riverton, NJ working as a mail carrier for many years and retired as Postmaster. He joined First Baptist Church in Riverside, NJ as a young man and served as a trustee for many years. In 2016, he was ordained as a deacon at Little Rock Baptist Church, Camden, NJ where he served diligently for his church family until his health prevented him from doing so. He was a member of the Scottish-Rite Masons where he acquired his 33rd and last degree in 1978 and he also held the position as Grand Master. He was predeceased by his siblings Wilamae, Frankie & Theodore Edwards, Ruth Boyd and Queen Ester Hellen, his son Glenn Edwards, his daughter Sharon Edwards, his great granddaughter Di’on Abner and also his dear friend Helen W Henry leaving one surviving Sister Vivian Adams who resides in East Hampton, NJ, five daughters: Catanna Cook from Wilmington, DE, Lucy Countee of Camden, NJ, Tameka White of Trenton, NJ Claudette Parker of Trenton, NJ, Natasha Parker of Riverside, NJ and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Lastly, we would like to acknowledge his nursing aide Stephanie Lyons who cared for our father with love and kindness. Your being there with dad gave us peace of mind.

Our dear mother Marie Myrtha Michaud Viel, sadly passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the age of 56. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the St. Anthony’s Church community in Trenton. She was predeceased by her mother Delicia Alexi, father Cedieu Michaud, older sister Marie Mimose. Marie is survived by her husband, Jean Parnell Viel, their four children, Gregory, Dorine, Valerie, and Josh, and her niece ,Woonie Daniel. "Dolores Tottoroto (nee) DiPaolo, born in Trenton on June 30, 1931, died Sunday February 4, she was a lifelong resident of Trenton and Hamilton Township. Married to the late Gino Tottoroto her devoted husband of 55 years, she was predeceased by her parents Mary and C. Thomas DiPaolo, who were always there for her, and her sister Virginia Guear. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Gina Tottoroto Zegel, and loving daughter Rosemary Tottoroto and her husband Raymond Mathis, and finally her always adored grandsons, Nick and Douglas Zegel and his wife Amanda Lee. Also surviving are the children and grandchildren of her beloved sister. They are Michele and Vicki Guear, Stephanie Sherbacow and her children Sydney, Sam and Saige Sherbacow. She led an ordinary and uneventful life except for all of the pleasures she derived from her immediate and large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Experiencing world travel with her friends and family always brought her great pleasure. May all of the people with whom she shared her life be better for having known her. KATHRYN LEE JACOBSEN, 69, passed away Sunday January 28th at Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Trenton, NJ. She was born in Long Branch, and lived in Oceanport, Monmouth Beach and Plainsboro before taking up residence at Riverside 8 years ago.She was a graduate of Shore Regional High School, West Long Branch, class of 1973, and attended Monmouth College following high school. Ms. Jacobsen enjoyed horse back riding lessons and participated in several jumping competitions during her school years. She was also on the swimming team at Trade Winds Beach Club, Sea Bright and as a young girl, placed first in several competitive races. Kathy always enjoyed music and the arts and created some original paintings. She also worked for a time as a computer programmer for JM Huber Corporation, Edison.She was predeceased by her father, Clemens N. "Jake" Jacobsen, in 1999 and her mother, Rosemarie T. Jacobsen in 2017.She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt. Kathryn is survived by her brother, William C. Jacobsen, Monmouth Junction; her sister-in-law Marian; neices Christine N. Skalko and Karen M. Chmielinski, and their young sons.Visitation will be Thursday February 1st from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at the MJ Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction. Funeral services will be held Friday February 2nd at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brigadier General William C. Msgr. William J Capik, 94, passed away on January, 27, 2024. Msgr. William John Capik was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on January 12, 1930. He attended St. Charles High School Seminary, Catonsville, MD and St. Mary Seminary, Baltimore, MD. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Trenton on June 4, 1955. He served at St. Ann Parish, Hampton, NJ and St. Anthony Parish, Hightstown, NJ before serving as Athletic Director of Notre Dame High School, Trenton, NJ, then Principal of Holy Cross High School, Delran, NJ. He served as Pastor at St. Michael Parish, Trenton, NJ and St. Peter’s Parish, New Brunswick, NJ before becoming Pastor of St. James Parish in Basking Ridge, NJ in 1981, just before the Diocese of Metuchen was created. He retired from active ministry in 2005. For 18 years, Monsignor served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ as well as various diocesan roles and on many committees: Vicar for Education, Diocesan Council for Financial Affairs, Vicar for Charities and Social Ministry, and as a mentor to first-time pastors. In retirement, he regularly assisted parishes by being available for Masses and Confessions, including the Sisters of Mercy at McAuley Hall HealthCare Center, Watchung, NJ. In addition to his love for serving Jesus and the Church, he was also an avid golfer, reader, and loved spending time with family and friends. Msgr.
