John F Noveroske Sr, 88, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 John was born on September 4, 1935, in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Clement and Anne (Prybella) Noveroske On June 14, 1958, John married Sheila Severs who preceded him in death on June 20, 2022 John was a sheet metal worker with Local #20 Sheet Metal Workers Union for 45 years He was employed by Dye Plumbing and Heating/Dye Mechanical for 37 1/2 years where he was a Sheet Metal Division Manager for 25 years He served his country in the Naval Reserves and then in the U S Army He was a member of Holy Family Parish, St Peter Church where he was an usher, money counter, and head of the Building and Maintenance He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1542 where he played cards, and was a member of their golf, bowling, and pool league John and Sheila were avid card players and loved playing Pinochle with their local friends They were Winter Texans for 17 years where they made many lifelong friends In Texas they acquired their little dog Skipper who will miss them both dearly John is survived by his children, Douglas (Joan) Noveroske of Michigan City, John Noveroske Jr of La Porte, Judith (Kerry) Ginther of Rolling Prairie, Gary (Diane) Noveroske of La Porte, Patrick (Jennifer) Noveroske of Union Mills; grandchildren, Toni, Kyle, Amanda, Ashley, Emmily, Tyler, Hannah, Drew, Spencer, Holly, Violet, Max, Lucas, and Vivienne; great-grandchildren, Colton, Mackenzie, Jaxon and Julian; a brother, Paul (Reathel) Noveroske Sr and many beloved nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sheila; grandson Duston Noveroske; and a great-grandson, Levi Pattengale Visitation will be held from 4-7 p m Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Frank L Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana A Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p m A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a m Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Holy Family Parish, St Peter Catholic Church Reverend Nate Edquist will officiate Family and friends may gather at 10 a m Thursday in the funeral home prior to the Mass Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Parish, St Peter Catholic Church, 1101 Michigan Avenue, La Porte, Indiana 46350 To light a virtual candle, share a story of John's life or leave a message of comfort for his family, please visit www EsslingFuneralHome com To to the family or in memory of John F Noveroske Sr, please

Van Herold Willis, 84, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Van was born on July 19, 1939, in Bryson City, North Carolina to the late Reverend Garland and Rita Willis. Van retired from the Local #172 Plumbers, Pipefitters, and HVAC Union after many years of service. He served his country in the United States Army. On August 18, 1973, Van married Sandra Nelson who survives with children, Sherry (Brad) Hunt of La Porte, Darold (Joy) Willis of Walkerton, Indiana, Stanley (Holly) Willis of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; a step daughter, Cindy (Steve) Gazarkiewicz of La Porte; grandchildren, Tamra, Durelle, Tara, Tyler, Shawna, Sarah, Brandon, Bryan, Jacob, Katie and Rob; great grandchildren, Anaya, Alisa, Parker, Madelyn, Morgan, Rowan, Austin, Dallas, Molly, Devan, Brody and Piper; and sisters, Jewel, Eva, Clover, Marie, Clara, and Vergie. He was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Garland and Rita Willis, Stepmother Hazel Willis, brothers Richard and Clifford, and sisters Viola, Veronia, and Dorothy. Cheryl May Williams, 71, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on November 29, 2023 at Tanya's Helping Home, Valparaiso. Cheryl was born on December 15, 1951 in La Porte, IN to John and Phyllis (Kirkham) Richardson. On May 10, 1997, in La Porte, IN, she married Roger James Williams, who preceded her in death. Surviving Cheryl are her 2 children, Heather Pina of Goshen and Jason Smyers of La Porte; special "second daughter", Stephanie Wiltfong; 16 grandchildren, Jazlyn (Makayla), Marcos, Chebo, Jose, Johnathan (Tessa), Ricardo, Jordan, Jayden, Justin, Jensen, Faith, Bella, Jackson, and Jace, with Jayden being raised like a son; 2 great-grandchildren, Johnathan Jr. and Layla; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Phyllis Richardson; husband, Roger Williams; daughter, Traci Smyers; and 2 grandchildren, Hunter and Stacey. Cheryl enjoyed her work at Suds on State Laundromat, where she was able to interact with and assist the community. In her free time, she enjoyed plastic canvas crafting, painting her nails, and viewing Hallmark Christmas movies year round. Cheryl loved the Christmas season and all that came with the holiday. She will be very fondly remembered by her family for her love of ice cream, particularly strawberry shortcake! A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p. m. on Tuesday, December 05, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery. Cheryl's visitation will be held from 11:00 a. m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. C. T. R. C. Thomas Michael Travis (Retired U. S. Navy), 74, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born on June 8, 1949, in La Porte, Indiana to Robert and Mary Ann (Sudrovech) Travis. On July 20, 1985, he married Maureen Flynn who survives with their daughter, Brianne Travis of La Porte. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Barbara (Travis) Gullans, Mark Travis, infant, Charlie Travis; and nieces, Shannon Flynn and Colleen Dornburg. He will be missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Tom served his country for 22 1/2 years in the U. S. Navy as a Cryptologist. After the Navy he drove a bus for the La Porte School Corporation for 25 years. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum, and a Ham Radio Operator, "WA9NGO. Kathy Lynn Hay (Tieman), of La Porte, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 16th at the age of 78. She was born February 13th, 1945, in La Porte to Kenneth Henry Tieman and Lois Magdelena Tieman (Janhke). Kathy attended La Porte High School and married Ernest Edward Hay on December 29th, 1967, where they spent their lives raising a family and enjoying their grandkids in La Porte. Kathy was an avid bowler and enjoyed that for most all her adult life, she was on several leagues throughout the years and always had so much fun. She loved knitting, baking, cross-stitching, tending to her flowers, schnauzers, and crocheting. She lovingly made so many items for her kids and grandkids throughout the years. Her favorite gift to make and give were her crocheted dish cloths. Kathy loved her faith and was a devout Lutheran who kept her faith strong until she was called home. Her first grandchild gave her the nickname GG and that stuck to the point even her own children called her GG. Family was her most important focus, making sure everyone was together for all holidays. She was a fantastic cook who loved to make a meal for anyone who visited. Kathy is survived by her Husband Ernie Hay, her brother Lee Tieman (Nancy) of Palm Harbor, FL, Daughter Michelle Casto (Hay) of La Porte, Daughter Kari Hay-Alexander of Kansas City, son Michael Hay (Jamie) of La Porte. Her beloved grandchildren Austin Casto, Abby Casto, Logan Hay, Keli Hay, Addison Alexander, Audrey Alexander, Paige Swanson (Corey Torres), Skyler Luna (Antonio Martinez) and 4 great-grandkids Summer Swanson, Liam Luna, Sofia Luna, and Isabella Luna. So many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and even a few great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lorel Kay Rameier (Tieman), her brother-in-law Rodger Rameier, and her son-in-law Scott Charles Alexander. Cremation will take place.
