John Noble Obituary

John L. Noble, 107, Greentown, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at his home. He was born March 10, 1916 in Kokomo, the son of the late Frank and Mabel (Crousore) Noble. On October 7, 1939, he married Wilma Shockley, who preceded him in death on December 21, 2003. John retired from Continental Steel after 39 1/2 years of service. John loved his family, brothers and sisters. He also loved his church and church family. John was a member of the Greentown Wesleyan Church. In his last years, he was very well known at the Markland Mall. There, he had good friends and good times! And the mall hosted three birthday parties for John. Other activities he also enjoyed was carpentry and yardwork. John is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Alspaugh, and Linda Miller; 4 grandchildren, Sandy (Kerry) Horoho, Trina (Rick) Stout, Vince (Shannon) Shrader, and Jay (Sherri) Miller; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Joan Taylor, and Leo "Jack" Noble. In addition to his wife Wilma, John was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lena, Josephine, Jean, and Frank "Tiny"; great-granddaughter, Kylie Miller; and sons-in-law, Jerry Alspaugh, and Donald Miller. A funeral service will be held at 12 p. m. Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Greentown Wesleyan Church, 120 N. Maple St. , Greentown, with Pastor Paul Boss officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Kokomo. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a. m. Wednesday until the start of the service at the church.
