Angela May SpencerEssexville, MichiganWith late evening snowflakes falling, our mom, Angela May Spencer, met her husband, Bud at the gates of Heaven on December 2, 2023. Angie was born January 24, 1933 in Sparr, Michigan to the late Edward and Hedwig Plachta. She was the 10th of their 12 children,Angie married her high school sweetheart, Cline "Bud" Spencer on August 22, 1953 and went on to create a large family of their own. They settled in Essexville, Michigan in the fall of 1973. Angie and Bud strived to give their children experiences they themselves never had, and instilled a work ethic in them that they all use to this day. Angie enjoyed numerous activities throughout her life. She was a voracious reader, a crossword puzzle fanatic, and a family champion Scrabble player. Although she could not golf for the last several years, it was a game she loved to play, especially with her mom and sister Dolly. Angie gave each of her children a small part of herself throughout her life. Her love of family. Her gentle and caring nature. Her love of laughter. Her lifelong friendships. Her ability to put a smile on her face at all times. These lessons were delivered by her each day. Now we get to carry them forward. The torch has been passed, and it is our job to keep it glowing for the next generation. Although we will miss her dearly, we know she is in a better place. Angie is survived by her children, David (Leta) Spencer, Donna (Gregg) Grobbel, Martin (Angie) Spencer, Paul (Lisa) Spencer, Kevin (Camie) Spencer. Her adoring grandchildren, Jessica (Phil) Manning, Nathan (Kristin) Campbell. Quincy Campbell, Will Campbell, Bobby (Julie) Grobbel, Katie (Jason) Lisko, Kyle Spencer, Sara (Ryan) Wineman, Neil Spencer, Sydney Spencer, Shannon (Frank) Kimmel, Andrew Spencer. Kristin (Stephen) Johnson, Katherine Schneider; great grandchildren, Lucas, Scarlett, Bennett, Kamden, Frances, Madeline, Elijah, Olivia, Lincoln, Rowan, Mirabelle plus sisters Patricia (Marvin) Wyant; Judy (Bill) Finn. In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; daughter, Kathleen Campbell; grandson, William Schneider and siblings, Edward Jr. Plachta, Gerald Plachta, Eugene Plachta; sisters, Katie Plachta; Barbara Plachta; Dolores Hipke; Alice Plachta; Geraldine Sawyer Foley; Joan Gast. Angie has made an anatomical donation to The University of Michigan Medical School to further the education of future medical students. A memorial service, and celebration of life, will take place later next year for friends and family. Donations are not being requested, but the family encourages a donation to causes people are passionate about. Our family would like to thank the entire staff at Charter Senior Living for the outstanding care she received during her stay. Also, thank you to Dr. Rajesh Dandamudi, and staff, for the care given to our mom and dad for many years. An online guest registry is available at www. ambrosefuneralchapel. comShow more
