John Patrick Monahan, 63, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Monday October 2, 2023, at his home. Funeral service will be 11 am October 10, 2023, at the Quisenberry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation at 10 am. Burial will follow in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie. John was born January 10, 1960, in Kingston, NY, the son of Edward C. and Anne M. (Jackson) Monahan. He was united in marriage to Kathy Miller in Kansas City, KS on June 4, 1989. He had a master's degree from Keller Graduate School of Management and worked as an Insurance System Analyst, Insurance Systems Underwriter, and an Insurance Systems Tester. He was a member of the Heartland Church of God, Tonganoxie. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward C. Monahan; his mother and stepfather, Anne M. , and Dillon Gaulding. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Monahan, of the home; two sons, Patrick, and Daniel Monahan; two daughters, Bonnie, and Molly Monahan; three brothers, Mike, Dennis, and Paul Monahan; one grandson, Ezra Monahan and one granddaughter, Jacelyn Wilhoit. Stacy Thompson Keith, 66, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Friday December 1, 2023, at the Olathe Hospice House. Visitation will be 11 to 11:45 am Thursday December 14, 2023, at Crossroads Christian Church, 5855 Renner Rd. , Shawnee, KS. The celebration of life will begin at 11:45. Burial with military honors will follow at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth, KS at 1:30pm. Stacy was born July 3, 1957, in Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald McDade Keith and his mother Valjean Kluppel Keith as well as his first wife, Laureen. He is survived by his wife, Tina, stepson Jarod Cole Griggs, stepdaughter, Lindsey Brooke Griggs as well as stepson, John Cendrick Keith (Colorado), son of his deceased wife. He is also survived by his stepmother, MaryEllen Keith of Marble Falls, TX, sister Susan Broussard (Zee) of Houston, TX, sister Sharon Turner of Kansas, brother Steven Michael Keith (Linda) of Cypress, TX, sister Shelley Keith Steigerwald (husband Paul) of Uvalde, TX, brother Shannon Kluppel of Baytown, TX, sister Jeanette Whitcomb (Gary) of Austin, TX, brother Stuart Keith (Stacey) of Houston, TX, brother Ramon Darwin of Nebraska and cousin, Emily Pederson (Dennis) of Tomball, TX. In 2007, Stacy retired from the army after 28 years of service. He became an Army Ranger and "lucked his way" (as he would say) into helicopter flight school. He flew OH-58 Kiowas and Kiowa Warriors as well as UH-60 Blackhawks as an instructor pilot. He was also an airfield commander at Butts Army Airfield at Ft. Carson, Colorado. He retired as a CW5. Over the last few years, Stacy enjoyed working for the U. S. Census Bureau as well as substitute teaching at various high schools in the community. He was united in marriage to Tina (Maes) Keith on September 21, 2012, in Eureka Springs, AR. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Shawnee. Larry Joe Stockman Sr. ,81, Tonganoxie, KS, peacefully passed away by surrounded family on Monday November 20, 2023, at the Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, KS. A celebration of life will be held Saturday December 2, 2023 from 10-noon at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Larry was born June 18, 1942, in East Prairie, MO, the son of James and Grace Irene (Ellis) Stockman. In 1959 Larry and his brother Donald went into the United States Marine Corp. After completing his duty Larry went into the Kansas National Guard 137th Infantry Company. He then transferred to the United States Army Reserves the 842nd quartermaster company. Then Larry went into the 12th special forces, Green Beret and he also went to Vietnam in 1968 and 1969 where he fought in the Tet offensive. He retired from military service in April 1986 as a Master Sargent. One thing about Larry Sr, he never backed away from a fight. A fight cost him a bronze star. He was classified with 290% Disability from the Veterans Administration. Agent Orange destroyed his kidneys, heart, and hearing. Larry was united in marriage to the love of his life Charlotte (Miller) Stockman on June 21,1963 in Kansas City, KS. She survives of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Jay Stockman, Chicago, IL, Donald Stockman, Edwardsville, KS, and Glenda Arington, Dogwood, MOOther survivors include three sons, Larry Jr. , Tonganoxie, Jerry, Grantville, KS, Mark, Eudora, KS; two brothers, Bob Stockman, Lansing, KS, Eddie Stockman, East Prairie, MO; one sister, Sue Colson, East Prairie, MO; grandchildren, Joe, Amanda, Justin, Ryan, Ashley, Tyler, Anna; and great grandchildren, Carlie, Lily, Fenwick, Cash, Emmeline, Lainey, Abby, and Sasha. "Nina Margie Lyons (Lobner), 66, of Tonganoxie, KS, passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2023. She was born on September 13, 1957, in Orange County, CA, to Sylvia Peerson and Ellwood Lee Lyons. Nina was a hard worker and loved by many. She dedicated over 20 years of her life as a service advisor for Nissan, providing trusted advice to numerous customers many of whom she befriended throughout her career. Nina\u0027s commitment to her profession was evident in the lasting relationships she built with her clients. In her spare time, Nina found joy in spending time with her grandkids, Cooper, Quinn, and Rylee Shugrue. She cherished any time they had together and making memories with them. Nina also enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends, fishing, and above all, taking care of her family. Although her caring nature extended well beyond her immediate family. Nina\u0027s unexpected passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Ellwood Lee Lyons, and her niece, Jessica Roark. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Sylvia Peerson, her stepfather, Jimmy Peerson, her sister, Lori Roark, her brother-in-law, John Roark, nephew John Roark IIII, by her sons, Dustin Ward and Ross Lobner, as well as son-in-law, Mason Hakes, and daughter-in-law, Molly Shugrue. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Betty May Englen, 89, passed away November 10, 2023, in Basehor, KS. A celebration of Betty's beautiful and full life will be held Thursday November 30, 2023, at 11 am at the Tonganoxie Historical Society. Please dress comfortably and plan to enjoy a luncheon graciously provided by the Historical Society. Betty was born August 20, 1934, in Edgewater, CO, the daughter of Albert and May (Boyd) Pittman. She was a graduate of Colorado State College and the president of her Alpha Sigma TAU Sorority. She was united in marriage to Del Englen August 17, 1956, in Edgewater, CO. She taught third grade in Colorado for twenty years. After moving to Kansas, she was a member of Kuntry Klub (EHU), P. E. O (Chapter HS), the Riford Senior Citizens, and the Tonganoxie Historical Society. Her husband Del preceded her in death on July 31, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her brother James Pittman on April 4th, 2023 and her granddaughter-in-law Heidi Karn-Barker on May 8th, 2022. Survivors include her daughter, Debi and husband David Barker, Basehor, KS; grandson Bradley Barker; granddaughter BreAnna Muniz and grandson-in-law Tyler Muniz; two great grandchildren Breck and Madison Muniz. Kent Quarles, 85, of Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Wednesday November 8, 2023, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday November 16, 2023, at the West Haven Baptist Church, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends from 9-11 am. The burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie. Kent was born December 7, 1937, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Robert Winston and Jessica Lee (Ford) Quarles. He was self-employed with Quarles Trash Service in Tonganoxie and the rural surrounding area before retirement. He was a 1956 graduate of Tonganoxie High School. He served in the U. S. Army, Company E 1st brigade 8th infantry Fort Lewis Washington He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Quarles in 1994. His son, Kent Jonathan Quarles in 1999; three brothers, Robert, Jesse, and Percy C. Quarles; and one sister Maretta Warder. He was united in marriage on January 17, 1998, to Louise (McDonald) Quarles in Bonner Springs, KS. She survives of the home. Other survivors include; two sons, Keith and Scott (Kori) Quarles both of Tonganoxie; three daughters, Deborah (Teri) Holloway, Tonganoxie, Jacqueline Coleman, Kansas City, MO, Tresea Quarles, Tonganoxie; two step sons, Danyale McDonald, Atlanta, GA, Victor (Lori) McDonald, Midland, TX; two step daughters, Deidre Brown, Oklahoma City, OK, Traci McDonald, Bonner Springs, KS; one sister, Claudia Woods, Kansas City, MO; fifteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. George Orland Flowers was promoted to his heavenly home on Saturday October 28, 2023, at the age of 98 years. George was born September 1, 1925, and was raised in Kansas City, KS. His family struggled through the depression era placing their faith in God almighty and working diligently to make ends meet. In October of 1942, a month after turning 17 years of age, he felt the call to join the United States Military Naval Forces in order to help our country, as we had become involved in World War II. Due to his age, his mother was required to sign a waiver giving George permission to enlist. After receiving basic training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, he was transferred to the South Pacific, boarding the class attack transport ship USS Crescent City (APA-21) at Noumea, New Caledonia. He was assigned the duty of operating his own landing craft, and taking troops to the beaches at Guadalcanal, and then north to the Soloman Islands. After time spend in the Hospital in New Zealand for an injury received while serving in the South Pacific, George was transferred back to the United States in February of 1944, serving stateside in California until his discharge in 1945. In 1949, George married Mary G. Rider in Kansas City, KS. He worked in construction most of his adult life, starting out in residential construction, and eventually moving into commercial construction and finish work. He has left his mark all over the eastern Kansas and western Missouri area. George and Mary moved their family to Tonganoxie, Kansas in 1965, where he eventually served on the Tonganoxie City Council, and enjoyed being involved in this community. George and Mary celebrated 66 years of marriage before The Lord called Mary home in 2015. Together they raised four children and had the pleasure of enjoying watching the family grow as each married and blessed them with grandchildren. George and Mary were very strong in their faith in The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved to study scripture and prophecy. They were members of the Stony Point Christian Church in Kansas City, KS for many years, and in their later years enjoyed the fellowship at Cornerstone Family Worship in Tonganoxie, KS. Goerge's favorite hymn for much of his life was "How Great Thou Art", but in the last several years of his life you could hear him joyfully singing "One Day Jesus Is Going to Call My Name"!He was also preceded in death by a son, George Flowers Jr. and a granddaughter Jessica Rene Flowers. He is survived by two daughters; Pamela (James) Staples of Tonganoxie, KS; Patricia (Thomas) Staples of Tonganoxie, KS; two sons: Jum W. (Patti) Flowers of Bonner Springs, KS, Timothy A. (Shellie) Flowers of Basehor, KS; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends he loved very much. He truly was a lover of God, Country, and Family. He was an unwavering example of that "Great Generation". And Yes, Dad, after 98 years "God did call your name"! Charlotte Louise Robinson, 88, McLouth, KS, passed away Thursday September 14, 2023, in Oskaloosa, KS. Funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday September 19, 2023, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. The burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, KS. Charlotte was born June 26, 1935, in Bethel, KS, the daughter of Chester and Okie (Cox) Wells. She was a 1953 graduate of Wyandotte High School. She was united in marriage to B. J. Robinson Sr. June 21, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Chester E. Wells Jr. She was a homemaker and farm wife who also worked as a school bus driver for the McLouth School District for several years. Later she drove a van for the Jefferson County Service Organization, a job she thoroughly enjoyed until retirement. She attended the United Methodist Church of McLouth. She was a member of the Town and Country Club, McLouth, serving as secretary and treasurer for a number of years. She enjoyed being a Union Township Election Volunteer over the years. She was a life member of the McLouth Steam Engine Association and served as secretary for many years. Charlotte enjoyed family gatherings, shopping trips with her kids, traveling to the Kansas State Fair with family, monthly club meetings, talking with friends, drives through the country, sewing, crocheting, reading and her coffee. She loved the Christmas Holidays. Survivors include one son Bill J. Robinson Jr. , Valley Center, KS; two daughters, Karen (Ralph) Bailey, McLouth, KS, Melinda (Michael) Coleman, Leavenworth, KS; two grandchildren, Amanda (Bailey) Halterman, Basehor, KS, Ryan (Michelle) Bailey, McLouth, KS ; one "adopted grandson", Diego Gutierrez; two great grandsons, Kael Halterman, Basehor, KS, Colt Bailey, McLouth, KS; one sister, Audrey Moody, Basehor, KS; and one nephew, Ross Moody, Linwood, KS.
