She was 98.Shirley was born on June 27, 1925 in Milford, DE to the late Elwood and Minnie Mills.She graduated from the Cedar Neck School House in 1943.Mrs. Welch worked as a Secretary around Milford for many years.She was a member of Avenue United Methodist Church.Shirley enjoyed playing cards, big band music, and swing dancing.She is survived by her daughter, Judith Hayden and her husband John, her grandchildren, Richard Beckman and his wife Michelle, Max Robichaud and his wife Pamela, and Devon her husband Jermey Lister, and her great grandchildren, Noah and Grace Beckman, Max Robichaud, III, Austin Robichaud, Taylor Robichaud, Dallas Rhodes, and Layla Messick.A memorial service will be held at Rogers Hovatter Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, at 12 noon on Friday 2/16, with visitation starting at 11AM.Interment is private.

She was 91.Mrs. Pini was born on February 8, 1933 in Wilmington, DE to the late Joseph and Sarah Vella.She worked for the State of Delaware for over 25 years, retiring as Chief Clerk for Magistrate Court 10.Carole was a member of St. John the Beloved in Wilmington for over 50 years and recently St. John the Apostle in Milford. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald Pini, and her children, Joseph R. Pini, and Debra A. Fuller.Mrs. Pini is survived by her daughters, Donna Marie Racine and her husband George, and Carol Jane Rager and her husband Douglas, her brother, Frank J. Vella, her sisters, Josephine A. DiGuglielmo and her husband Daniel, and Mary Ann Hedden, her son in law, Joseph Fuller, Sr., 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.The family will receive visitors at Rogers Hovatter Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, from 10AM to 12PM on Tuesday 2/20, with a funeral service at 12 noon.Interment is at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington.

He was 78.Mr. Bilger was born on May 15, 1945, in South Amboy, N.J. to the late Frank and Mary Bilger, who emigrated from Germany.He graduated from New Brunswick Vocational & Technical High School in 1963, where he specialized in carpentry and cabinet making. After high school, Frank honorably served our country in the United States Marines from 1965 to 1967. He worked as a carpenter for DuPont Chemical Company in Parlin, N.J. Later on he was a member of the Carpenters & Millwrights, Local Union 1006 in Milltown, N.J. He also had his own custom cabinet business, Bilger Cabinets, which he operated for many years. Mr. Bilger was a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus at both St. Bartholomew's, East Brunswick, NJ and later at St. John the Apostle, Milford, DE. He was also a member of the American Legion, Milford, DE.He enjoyed woodworking, gardening… especially growing roses and grapes, fishing and going on cruises with his wife and family.Frank was an avid cat lover and shared his whole life with his furry friends, most recently with Penny. Frank is survived by his wife of 37 years, Christine Bilger. He is also survived by his daughters, Jo Ann Guear and her husband, Christopher, and Amy DeVries and her husband, John; his step children, Pamela Poch and her husband, Scott, and Bryan Olen and his wife, Kim, and Jeffrey Olen and his partner, Amy Allen; as well as his grandchildren, Matthew and Nicole Guear.Family and friends are welcome to join them for a viewing at Rogers Hovatter Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford from 4PM to 6PM on Wednesday, March 13. A prayer service will be held at 6PM.Interment is at Holy Cross Cemetery in Jamesburg, N.J.In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Jerry attended Milford Christ Episcopal Church and graduated Milford High School, Class of 1974. Academia pursuits included a Double Major in American History and Political Science at Newark, University of Delaware. Jerry\u0027s eclectic music collection featured 70\u0027s Rock as well as selections of Bluegrass to Opera. His passion for Reading overshadowed all the vinyl interest and he focused intensely upon American Civil War History. Jerry was preceded in Death by both Parents, George Preston Sherman of Milton, DE, and Ethel M. Stayton Sherman of Milford, DE. Jerry is survived by three sisters, Ethel Mae Stayton-Newman and husband Thomas, Sister Gladys A. Stayton-Kindig of Hastings, Minnesota and Cynthia F. Sherman of Milford, DE. Uncle Jerry is survived by six nephews and two nieces, several great nephews, great nieces and cousins, he was preceded in death by one great nephew, one great niece and all of his Uncles and Aunts on both the Sherman and Stayton Family Tree. Wayne Albert List, 76, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024 at home. He was born in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Walter E. List, Sr. and Marie (Keiser) List. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served as a sonar technician. Wayne worked over the years as a telephone technician for several telephone companies before he retired from Lucent. He was an avid swimmer and while in high school, Wayne was a star swimmer in the 100 meter butterfly competition. He also enjoyed metal detecting and horse racing. Wayne is survived by his wife of 51 years Kathleen (Wilsynski) List; a son Ryan Wayne List and his wife April; a brother Walter List, Jr. and his wife Winnie; 3 grandchildren Klohe' List, Kasey List, and Michael Hanson; 3 nieces Ashlee Wilsynski, Rachael Wilsynski, and Wendy Williams; one nephew Jeffrey List; and a brother-in-law Michael Wilsynski and his wife Julie. Friends may visit with the family from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE. A time of sharing will be held at 3 pm. Lt. Col. Leonard E. Greenly, U.S. Army retired, age 89, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford. Leo was born in Milford, the son of the late Leslie and Mary (Tharp) Greenly. He was a 10th generation farmer raising chickens with his late wife Alice. Leo enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1961 serving during the Vietnam War. He became a decorated helicopter pilot, and received both the Distinguished Flying Cross and a purple heart before retiring at the rank of Major. Leo then enlisted in the Delaware Army - National Guard, and was ordered to active duty in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Leo attained the rank of Lt. Colonel before retiring in 1991. He then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier, working several years before retiring. Leo was a life member of the South Bowers Fire Company, serving as Rescue Captain and also in EMS. In his younger years, Leo enjoyed going fishing and crabbing. Leo loved to travel and experience new places, especially traveling to Spain and Hawaii, two of his favorite locations. In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his wife Alice; a son Calvin Orlando Greenly and a sister Winnifred Eisenbrey. He is survived by 4 daughters Linda Mosher, Mary Anne Brantley and her husband Ronald, Alice Greenly, and Donna Greenly and her fiance' Rick Deputy; 1 sister Doris Williams; 4 grandchildren Laura Fila, Jenny Garry, Josh Gifford, and Weston Price; and two great grandchildren Alyssa and Jacob Garry. A viewing will be held from 1 - 2 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where services will be held at 2 pm. Burial with military honors will be held at Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. Born in Dagsboro, DE, she was the daughter of the late Esther Mitchell and Walter Ernest Sturgis.Ms. Crawford was a member of Pilgrims Ministry of Deliverance, Inc., in Georgetown, where she served as an usher and a member of the Culinary Ministry and Pastor's Aide Committee.Prior to retiring, she was a caregiver at Christiana Care in Georgetown.She will be lovingly remembered by: three sons, Apostle Ronald Phillips (Dedra), Elder Charles Crawford (Nancy), and Robert Crawford; two daughters, Rose Bailey (Apostle Levin) and Racshel Paynter; one brother, Edward Smith (Glydis); 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.Ms. Crawford will lie in repose on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 11 AM to 12 PM at Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A., 1618 West Road, Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 12 PM. Disposition will be private.
