Obituary of John McCafferty John L. McCafferty, 58, died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center in Akron. Born in Akron on May 25, 1960, John was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a flooring contractor and recently opened his own shop, Ames Flooring and Interior Design. John loved bowling and boating. He had a special place for his Harley Davidson. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. John was a beloved father- he cherished his children and adored his two grandbabies. John was preceded in death by his father Alvie McCafferty and brothers Ralph & Kenny McCafferty. He is survived by his mother Una Mae McCafferty; children Rebecca (fiance Kevin Nunley), Robyn & John McCafferty; grandchildren Jaycen & Terra Nunley; sister Margie (Wayne) Rose; brother Jim (Cindy) McCafferty; and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, February 8 from 10-11AM at the Grace Baptist Church, 704 N. Firestone Blvd, in Akron. Funeral services will begin at 11AM at the church. Private interment at Lakewood Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, in care of the funeral home, to help offset John's final expenses.
