John Johnson Jr Obituary

"JOHN H. JOHNSON, JR. John H. Johnson, Jr, age 76, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the Norwalk Hospital. He was the husband of Brenda Gordon Johnson. A great grandchild, stepson--Leroy M. Pressley, two brothers--Reginald Johnson and Eric B. Johnson predeceased him. Born October 18, 1946 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John H. Johnson, Sr. and Janie Mae Cobbs Johnson. John graduated from Wilkerson High School, Orangeburg, South Carolina. He also attended South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina. John later relocated to Norwalk, Connecticut. He was employed by Clairol Inc. , Stamford, Connecticut for many years and later worked for the City of Norwalk, Connecticut. John was a faithful and committed member of Bethel AME Church, serving unwavering for many years until his health no longer permitted him to do so. He was a member of the Sons of Allen. In addition to his wife--Brenda Gordon Johnson, those left to cherish his memory are two daughters--Kathy Johnson and Greta Johnson; two sons; Bryan Johnson and Corey Johnson; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three sisters; Gussie Johnson, Dr. Jennifer Johnson and Dr. Wanda Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday May 10, 2023 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM followed by a service of celebration at 11:00AM at Bethel AME Church, 19 Academy St. , Norwalk, CT. Eulogist; Rev. DR.
