Colonie- John J. "JJ" Jennings, age 72, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, October 4th, after a period of declining health. JJ was born in Manhattan on November 24, 1950, to the late Margaret (Young) and Wesley B. Jennings Sr. JJ served his country in the United States Marines Corps from 1968-1971. He was stationed in Vietnam, Okinawa, Philippines, Korea, and Japan. JJ worked as a claims representative for the Department of Social Security, in Hudson, NY. A longtime resident of Nassau, he was a life member, lieutenant, captain, and past president of the Nassau Hose Company #1. He was a baseball umpire for 45 years; he spent 23 years as an umpire for the Nassau Baseball Association and 22 years as an umpire for the Capital District Baseball Umpires Association (CDBUA). JJ was a member of the Marine Corps League of Colonie, the Nassau Ambulance, DAV, VVOA, ABT as a regimental color bearer, Friends of Gettysburg, Friends of the Battle of Franklin Trust, Capital District Civil War Round Table (past president), the Major General Winfield Scott Hancock Society, and the Mohawk Road Runners Club. JJ was a longtime employee of the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home. JJ was married to Bernadette LaManna. He is survived by his children David Jennings and Emily (Tom) Bertrand. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepbrothers: Wesley B. Jennings Jr. and Donald M. Jennings. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with JJ's family on Tuesday, October 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY. A funeral service will commence at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 11, at the funeral home, with Rev. Eric Kerwath officiating. Interment will immediately follow the funeral, with full military honors, in Nassau-Schodack Cemetery Route 203, Nassau, NY. Nassau- Susan M. Keegan, 73, of Nassau, NY died peacefully at home following an extended illness on November 2, 2023. A long time resident of Nassau (1982-2023), she was born in Minneapolis, to Robert F. Keegan and Margaret Stacy Wash, on July 28, 1950. Susan was very athletic, she served as a lifeguard at Lake Waccabuc, in the summers during high school. She was a graduate of Wheaton College (1973) and worked as a lab technician at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center before working as a clinical research assistant for several companies including Parexel and PPD (Product Production Development). She was a deacon at the New Baltimore Reformed Church for many years, served on the board at the Nassau Free Library and was an active member at Honest Weight Food Co-op. Post retirement, her unbounded energy was directed toward working at Albany Institute of History & Art Museum and Berkshire Botanical Garden. Akin to that, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors enhancing her yard and home. Susan will be remembered for her independent spirit, her go to attitude on all projects, her love of contra dancing, kayaking, gardening and pot luck dinners. She is survived by a brother; Robert S. Keegan, sister; Carrie K Carrizosa, nephews; Ruben Carrizosa Jr, Michael Keegan, Jonathan Keegan, and nieces; Julia Carrizosa and Shira Martorana. Nassau- It is with profound sadness that we say Jane B. Rauch, in her 100th year, entered into eternal rest on October 24, 2023, after a brief illness. She was the eldest daughter of the late Jacob and Rose Kelly Becker. Jane was born in Albany, NY on July 10, 1924 and spent her time happily growing up with her siblings. Jane married the love of her life, Martin E. Rauch on May 10, 1946, and they were devoted to each other for 63 years of marriage before his passing. She is survived by her eight children, Judith (Jack) Schmitz, Carol McNicholas, Gail (Jacob) Coons, Martin E. (Diane) Rauch, Jr. , Theresa (Ronald) Caputo, Kurt (Jill) Rauch, Glenn (Paula) Rauch, and Eric (Beverly) Rauch. She is also survived by, and was wonderful to, her cherished and beloved 30 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren (1 on the way), 4 (2 more on the way) great great grandchildren, her sister Rosemary Smead, sister in law Marlene (Rick) Everleth, brother in law Bruce Rauch and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her spouse and parents Jane was predeceased by her brothers James Becker, Lawrence Becker, Jacob Becker III, and sister Lois Campanella. Jane worked briefly as a teller at Albany Savings Bank until the birth of her first child and then devoted herself to being a homemaker and eventually babysitter extraordinaire for what seemed most of the Village of Nassau for many years, until Martin retired. Jane was a loving person who was deeply devoted to caring for her family and any baby that came her way. Her greatest pride was her family, and nothing filled her with more joy than being surrounded by them. Jane's faith was an important part of her life, she was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Nassau, since her move to Nassau in 1950. One of Jane's favorite hobbies was crochet and many family members are in receipt of her intricate work. In her later years, as her sight failed, she turned to puzzles which entertained her and any of her visitors. Her family greatly admired that she lived her life with passionate beliefs and strength. She was strong in life, strong in love, strong in faith, and strong till the end. Castleton- Harry W. Livingston, who was born on June 2, 1934, passed peacefully at home, on Sunday, 10/22/2023, having enjoyed visits from many family members and friends. Harry was born in Brownsville, Pa. to the late Harry Livingston, Sr. and Georgana Murphy. Harry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Livingston. He was the father of 5 children: Spencer (Linda), Diana Starr, the late Harry the third, Tim (Kim), and Suzanne Sukup (Greg). He loved and was loved by his children, 9 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. They brought him much joy. He is also survived by his brothers Gary (Terry), Mark, and was predeceased by his brother Frank Harry worked for many years at the District 50 Mineworkers and the Textiles Workers Union. In later years, he had his favorite job at Victory Lane Speedway in Schodack. He volunteered for many years at the local Good Will shop. He loved surfing the waves, having many pets from dogs, cats, ponies, goats, and others. He talked to his frogs in his little pond. He was a great storyteller and jokester who will be remembered by all who knew him. His family will see him on the "other side of the mountain. " A memorial celebration of his life will be held in the spring for friends and family. He wanted us to all share jokes and funny stories at his memorial. North Chatham- Beverly Ann (Groves) Lucas, age 81, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on Friday, 10/06/2023. A resident of North Chatham for 61 years, she was born in South Schodack to the late Howard L. and Eleanor (Dusenbery) Groves. Beverly worked as a NYS Licensed Veterinary Technician at Drumm Veterinary Hospital, and then as an administrative assistant at the NYS Association of Fire Chiefs. She worked for a short time at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center and was a medical transcriptionist at Albany Medical Center for 20 years before retiring. One of Bev's greatest joys in life was cooking for family and friends. Her greatest memories were made around the dinner table. She loved plants, flowers, animals and a few people. She was predeceased by her parents, her two husbands; Nicholas Staltari (deceased 1982), John "Jack" Lucas (deceased 2005), and her fiance; Richard "Dick" Burgess (deceased 2019). She is survived by her son; Frank (Sharon) Staltari, her grandson; Patrick (Shelly) Staltari, her twin sister; Donna "Twin 1" (late Del) Furman, her brother; Ron (Susan) Groves, her stepdaughter; Lisa Spence, her best friend of over 40 years; Linda Turner and many nieces and nephews. George H. Field Jr. , 76, of Veering Lane, Castleton, died suddenly at home on August Born in Albany, he resided most of his life in East Schodack and He served in the Armed Forces in Vietnam in 1966 as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. He was honorably discharged from service in 1968 with a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal. After his discharge, he worked in the Construction Industry as a Truck Driver, Carpenter, and installer of overhead doors. He retired many years after working for "HVR" Henry V. Rector Construction in Rensselaer. Skip was a lifetime member of the Rensselaer Elks BPOE 2073 and a member of the VFW Post Skip enjoyed spending time with his friend Alan Drost and having weekend morning coffee with his neighbor Scott. He also loved NASCAR and enjoyed going to races with friends and his brother Curtis and his family in Arizona. In the 80s, he would spend time at the races at Lebanon Valley, where he even owned a car in the Sportsman Division, car number 311. He could be seen for many years on the sidelines watching his great-nephew (Dennon) play football and lacrosse. Most recently, he loved spending Sundays as part of the "Old Guys Crew" (Walt Killough & Barry Poppey) at his nephew John's place, where they would watch sports and have dinner. He was also an excellent cook and loved spoiling other people's animals. Jack's wife Patricia Fisher, his sister Nancy Killough, and Barry Argust, as well as many great nieces and nephews. Nassau- Clarise M. (Therrien) Moak, 94, passed away at Columbia Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Clarise was born to the late Florian and Marion (Fisher) Therrien, as she would say "in the little town of Bethlehem," on July 9, 1929. Clarise was the wife of the late William H. Moak. Clarise spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a former Sunday School teacher for the Grace United Methodist Church, of Nassau, NY. She was a loving and caring person, who would have given anyone the shirt off her back. Clarise enjoyed gambling, playing her numbers and slots. She loved her sweets, especially candy and ice cream not to mention the occasional rum and cokes. Clarise has missed all those that went before her, especially her husband and siblings, whom she loved with her whole heart. Clarise was predeceased by her parents, husband, as well as her brothers Paul and Julian Therrien; her sisters Anna DeStefano, Dorothy Levenburg, and Lorraine Bruder; and her daughter-in-law, Karen Moak. She is survived by her son Kenneth D. (late Karen) Moak and her daughter Patricia L. (Gerald) Price. She is also survived by her grandchildren; William, Sabrina, Kenneth, Jerry Jr. , and Jason; She had also been blessed with her great grandchildren; "Sweet" Caroline, Lydia Jade, Kyra, and Jeremy. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of Clarise's nieces, nephews, and friends of the family for the care and support they have offered.
