Andrew S. Strohmeyer, 63, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Tuesday December 5, 2023 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. He was born September 21, 1960 in Steubenville, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, David Strohmeyer; and two brothers, David M. Stromeyer and Joseph B. Strohmeyer. Andrew was a dishwasher and worked at Naples Spaghetti House and also the former Damons Grill, both in Steubenville, OH. He was a former member of the Weirton Moose Lodge. Andrew played basketball for 22 years for the Jefferson County All Stars and won 3 State Championships for the Special Olympics. Andrew gave the gift of life to help others by donating his liver and other tissue through Lifeline of Ohio. The family would like to thank Ann Marie Butera of Mingo Junction for the extra help she gave Andrew as well as the staff and doctors at Trinity Medical Center West in the ER and ICU. Surviving are his mother, Edith Ann (Sauer) Strohmeyer of Steubenville, OH; a son, Andy Strohmeyer and his fiance Sara McLain of Steubenville, OH; a grandson, Andrew L. Strohmeyer, Jr of Steubenville, OH; a sister, Laurie A. Strohmeyer of Weirton, WV; the mother of his child, Laura Strohmeyer of Steubenville, OH; two sisters-in-law, Toni Strohmeyer of Washington, PA and Florence Strohmeyer of Warwood, WV; three aunts, Florence Zack of Mingo Junction, OH, Anna Orison of Steubenville, OH and Mary McClung of Columbus, OH; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received at the Finley Church, 958 Lincoln Ave. , Steubenville, OH on Saturday January 6, 2023 from 11:00 a. m. until the time of his memorial service at 12:00 p. m. with Pastor Greg Kasler, officiating. There will be a luncheon at the church immediately after his service. Mary Ann McDonald, 74, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away, peacefully Friday November 3, 2023 in Follansbee, WV. She was born January 14, 1949 in Bellaire, OH, a daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Bennington) Travis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Kenneth R. Clark, Jr. , Margaret Ann Howard and John C. Clark; a brother, Richard Travis; a sister, Ruth Ann Evans; and her former husband, Kenneth "Ken" Clark, Sr. Mary Ann retired in 2006 from Nickles Bakery Thrift Store in Steubenville where she worked for 23 years. She was a member of the Brilliant American Legion Post 573 Auxiliary and the former Steubenville Moose Lodge. She loved baking and cooking for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching movies, playing casino games on the computer, porch sitting, and laying on a raft in the pool during the summer. Surviving are two children, Mary Frances Wilson of Mingo Junction, OH and Mark (Jodi) Clark of Steubenville, OH; two brothers, Robert Travis of Bellaire, OH and Harold Travis, Jr. of Flushing, OH; fourteen grandchildren, Renee and Brent Staudacher, Jeffrey Howard II, Ashley, Landen and Susan Wilson, Dustin, Marki, Miah, Carson, Jace, Miranda, Jonathon and Braylynn Clark; twelve great-grandchildren; and her best friends, Cheryl and Ron. She was born January 14, 1952 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Joe Mercer and Mary Jane (Vanderpool) Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Hoover on February 28, 2020; and four brothers, Edward and Virgil Merritt and Zane and John Cook. Linda was a homemaker and attended the Restoration Church in Steubenville, OH. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going on trips with them, especially cruises. Surviving are four daughters, Sabrina (John) Fox of Colliers, WV, Sandy (Bruce) Parr of Colliers, WV, Connie (Ernie) Shannon of Steubenville, OH and Laura (Candace) Haas of Front Royal, VA; three sisters, Charlotte (Rob) Huggins of Steubenville, OH, Gilda (Steve) Boyer of Weirton, WV and Connie (Mike) LaRue of Steubenville, OH; fifteen grandchildren, Kayla, Allyssa (Dylan), Cory (Destinee), Ethan, Robert, Russell (Skyla), John, Caitlin (Colton), McKenzie, Dylan, Chloe, Nina, Haley, Hayden and Garrett; and five great-grandchildren, Kyler, Ryder, Brantley, Storie and Conor.
