John Gannon Obituary

Obituary John Thomas Gannon, known as "John Boy," passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023, in South Bend, Indiana. Born June 5, 1958, in Goshen, Indiana, John was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. John was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Helen (Kelly) Gannon, and his twin sons, Jonathan Patrick and Joseph Lamar. He is survived by his spouse, Terry Gannon, his daughter, Melissa (Tim) Hutchings; son, Ryon (Nikki) Gannon; grandchildren, Kiley Hutchings, Caleb Gannon, Timothy Hutchings, and Kaiden Gannon; sister, Teresa (Bob) Nelson; brothers Michael Gannon and James Gannon. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Gannon. In his professional life, John was a talented tile artist and construction worker. Outside of work, John had a diverse array of interests and hobbies. He was known for being an avid White Sox fan. John enjoyed trying his hand at golf and spent many an afternoon perfecting his swing on the course with friends and family. John was also well-known around the Osceola Drag Strip as a regular participant and enthusiast of drag racing. His love for sports extended to being an unwavering supporter of the Cleveland Browns and a passionate Notre Dame football fan. Per the wishes of the family, no services will be held.
