John H. Flahive, 57, passed away at his home on Fripp Island, South Carolina on June 17, 2022. He leaves behind his two children, Morgan A. Flahive (fiance David J. Foote) of Virginia and Patrick J. Flahive of California; Laure A. Flahive, whom he was married to for over 30 years; his father, Charles W. Flahive of Massachusetts; his sister, Gretchen A. Wiik (John) of Massachusetts; and brother, Charles W. Flahive, Jr. (Melissa) of Maine; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. John was born in Malden, Massachusetts to Charles W. Flahive and the late Gloria C. Flahive. John enjoyed sports, particularly hockey, which he played in many youth leagues in the Boston area. He continued his love for the game playing on teams for The Rivers School, Weston, Massachusetts and Lake Forest College, Lake Forest, Illinois. As an adult he shared his experience and joy of sports, coaching several hockey and soccer teams. Through the years he could also be found in the stands, sidelines, and equestrian events cheering and sharing encouragement to his children. John worked for Ahlstrom-Munkjo for over 25 years. He held many roles while employed there, working in several different states and countries impacting the lives of all he worked with. The family is planning a private ceremony to celebrate John's life later this summer in Maine. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor may be made to: Gloria C. Flahive, R. N.
