The energy, enthusiasm, and vitality John exuded for life was made even more poignant by the diagnosis of cancer at the age of 50. His approach to this early diagnosis was to attack his disease head on. New research, treatments, medication, and clinical trials were explored and utilized to the fullest. John never stopped living his life regardless of his health challenges.
