John Bryan, a beloved family man, respected community member, and devoted friend, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023, in Woodstock, Ontario. Born on April 14, 1938, in Orangeville, Ontario, John lived a life full of love, laughter, and lasting memories. John was predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia, and his cherished daughter, Patty. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Cam), and son Jim (Susan); his grandchildren, Morgan, Kelsey, Katherine, Sara, and Steven; and his great-grandchildren, Anders and Claire. John was also the beloved brother of Shirley, Raymond, Kathy, and Jeannie, and the loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, Ronald, Glenda, and Bonnie. Known for his wit, wisdom, and warm heart, John was a pillar of strength for his family and friends. His resilience and positivity in the face of life's challenges were an inspiration to all who knew him. His love for his family was immeasurable, and his devotion to them was unwavering. John was an active member of the community, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word. His dedication to service was evident in his long-term membership with Legion Branch 55. He was also a proud retired member of C. A. W. Local 636. John's commitment to these organizations reflected his values of community, solidarity, and service. In his leisure time, John enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He found joy in the company of his family and friends, the beauty of nature, and the satisfaction of a job well done. His zest for life and his infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. John's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and resilience. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully. As we bid him farewell, we celebrate a life well-lived and remember a man well-loved. A Celebration of Life will be held at Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 1:00pm. John will be laid to rest with his wife Patricia at Hillview Cemetery. Randy Price, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 2, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 19, 1951. Randy shared a beautiful journey of 50 years of marriage with his loving wife, Carole. Their half-century of love was a testament to commitment, resilience, and the joy found in a shared life. Family was at the center of Randy's world. He was a proud and loving father to two sons and their wives, Jeffrey and Amber, Michael and Ashley along with his 6 beautiful grandchildren Tyler, Zachary, Hailey Olivia, Kelsey and Madison. His family was the light of his life, and he found immeasurable delight in their successes and happiness. Randy was predeceased by his late sister Patricia. Randy worked at the Federal Government of Canada within the Justice Department for 35 years and was a proud entrepreneur of J&C Building Cleaning. Randy was an avid skier who enjoyed travelling and cruises. Randy took great pleasure in driving his different sports cars and motorcycle, feeling the freedom of the open road. But above all, his passion was God and reading the Bible. He loved Jesus and placed Him at the center of his existence. Randy's unwavering faith made him the man he was and he shared that faith with those around him. Friends in Woodstock are encouraged to attend a visitation Thursday December 7, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Brock and Visser Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock, ON). A celebration of Randy's life will be held on Monday December 11, 2023 at Woodvale Pentecostal Church ( 205 Greenbank Rd, Ottawa, ON) at 11am. Alma Jean Caddey, known as Jean to her friends and family, passed away with her family by her side on December 2, 2023, in Ingersoll, Ontario at 91 years of age. Alongside her late husband, Jim, who predeceased her in 2018, Jean found joy and success as a Standardbred Race Horse Breeder and Owner. Their partnership extended beyond their marriage into a shared enthusiasm for the harness racing world, leaving a legacy within the Standardbred community. She is survived by her daughter, Colleen (Brent) Belore, and her adored grandchildren, Alana and Dylan Belore. Her guidance and love will continue to be a guiding light in their lives, as they carry forward the values and lessons, she instilled in them. Jean was a beloved sister to Grace Schnurr and Leslie Craig. Though she was predeceased by her brother Rand (Carol) Craig, brother-in-law Allan Schnurr, and sister-in-law Mary Jean Craig, the bonds of family extended through her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who survive her. Jean's early years as a school teacher, were a testament to her intelligence and analytical mind. She imparted wisdom and knowledge to her students within the walls of her classrooms. Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at the North Embro Cemetery at a later date. Mary passed away suddenly on November 30, 2023, at the age of 74, at Woodstock Hospital . She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Mary's life was a testament to the power of love and commitment. She was the beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Leis for 55 wonderful years, a partnership that stood as a shining example of devotion and mutual respect. Together, they built a family founded on the principles of kindness and support. She was the loving mother of Mike (Sharon) Leis and Jennifer Leis (Mark Sands), and a doting Grandma to Matthew, Taylor, Esmae, and Abel. Her siblings, Lea, Rick, David, and her step-siblings Ann, Stephen, and Tom, will fondly remember Mary's warmth and compassion. She was preceded in death by her sister Joan and her parents, Phyllis and Mike Knott and Bev Porter. Her memory will also be treasured by her many nieces and nephews. Mary's professional life was marked by her tenure as a dedicated Bell Telephone operator, a role she performed with grace and efficiency until her retirement. However, she often shared that her greatest accomplishment and joy were found in raising her children, nurturing them with love, and instilling in them the values that she held so dear. A devout member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Mary's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She sang in the church choir, where her beautiful singing voice was a source of inspiration and comfort to the congregation. Her faith was not just a part of her Sunday routine but woven into the fabric of her daily life, guiding her actions and interactions with everyone she met. Mary's interests were as rich and varied as her character. She was an avid lover of the outdoors, with camping and fishing among her favorite pastimes, along with their time spent on the boat. Mary could often be found immersed in a good book, always eager to explore new worlds and ideas through the pages. Those who knew Mary will remember her as the epitome of loving and kind. Her faith-filled spirit shone brightly, guiding her through life's challenges and triumphs. She approached every day with a heart full of grace and a smile that could light up a room. Her presence was a comfort, her laughter a melody, and her guidance a treasure that will be deeply missed. Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Jean Marie Brown, passed away peacefully, with family by her side on November 23, 2023 at the Woodstock General Hospital. She was born on April 9, 1940 at home in Zorra Township, Ontario to the late Douglas & Nettie Brown. Jean is survived by her sisters Grace Brown and Margaret (Jim) Kelly, sister in law Betty Brown and numerous nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly. Jean is predeceased by her brother George Brown, her nieces Kari Lynn Brown and Jackie Beaver, and nephew Craig Hutchison. Jean was a long time employee of Timberland Equipment where she worked until her retirement. Jean then filled her time volunteering at the Woodstock General Hospital, was a member of College Ave United Church, working diligently for the UCW. She enjoyed knitting, reading and attending live theater. Jean also enjoyed traveling, seeing new places and visiting family. Jean had a strong commitment to family and they will cherish fond memories of her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Family and friend will be received at Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave. , Woodstock, ON (519-539-0004) on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11 am to 12 pm. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12 pm. Jean will be laid to rest with her parents Douglas & Nettie Brown at Harris Cemetery in Ingersoll at a later date. On Sunday November 26, 2023 Hank passed away peacefully at Sakura House surrounded by family. Hank was born on April 17, 1941 in Maarssen Netherlands to Maria and Hendrik. The family emigrated to Canada and settled in the Woodstock area. Hank is survived by his sons Henry (Colleen) and Darryl (Michelle), and grandson Max. He was predeceased by his son Michael (1995). He will be greatly missed by his wife Ruby Toes. Hank will also be missed by his siblings Rita Lawrence, John Griffioen (Deb) and Anita Griffioen (Nino). He was predeceased by his brother Adriaan Griffioen (1987) and sister Elizabeth Hanenburg (1986). He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. The Pikeman enjoyed fishing at the bluffs and lighthouse in search of the pickerel, salmon and many perch that graced his fishing poles. His happiest times were at the Fin and Feather Park with his many friends and fellow fishermen. He was an avid Maple Leafs fan and had many opinions on how to make the team better each game. He was also a sharpshooter dart thrower both at the lake and Legion 55. We would like to thank all the family and friends who pitched in and helped over the last month. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Sakura House for their kindness, compassion, and caregiving. As per Hank's wishes a private family gathering has already been held.
